___It's huttball season! You better work on getting buff, Scrawny McPencilneck, because this game is for the big boys and girls! Haemophiliacs and faint of heart, beware!



Huttball is a dangerous sport that is popular in Hutt Space. The game pitted two randomly selected teams against one another in a no-holds-barred attempt to gain possession of the ball and bring it into the opposing team's camp. Violence and underhanded tactics are very much encouraged in Huttball.

Hello, everyone! We're ringing in the new year—and peoples' ears—with sign-ups for Huttball, Season 4! For veterans who want to reminisce or newcomers who want to understand how Huttball plays on the site, the previous seasons are below!

Huttball Basics
The game pits two (2) teams of three (3) players against one another in a knock-down, drag-out, tooth-and-nail fight to grab the ball in the centre of the arena and transport it to the opposing team's goal.

When a player in possession of the ball reaches the opponent's goal, they earn a point for their team, and the round concludes. Following the conclusion of the round, both teams return to their respective goal lines and have all their injuries tended to.

The game runs on a time limit of thirty (30) days, starting from when the announcer begins the game following each player's introduction. At the end of that period, the announcer tallies the points, and the team with the most points win!


What's in it for you? A heaping mound of credits, of course! Fun and fame are also yours for the taking! Don't mind the fine print.
___In consideration of The Hutt Cartel and The Hutt Cartel furnishing services and/or equipment to enable me to participate in huttball games, I agree as follows.

___I fully understand and acknowledge that: (a) risks and dangers exist in my use of huttball equipment and my participation in huttball activities; (b) my participation in such activities and/or use of such equipment may result in my injury or illness, including, but not limited to bodily injury, disease strains, fractures, partial and/or total paralysis, eye injury, blindness, heat stroke, heart attack, death or other ailments that could cause serious disability; (c) these risks and dangers may be caused by the negligence of the owners, employees, officers or agents of The Hutt Cartel, the negligence of the participants, the negligence of others, accidents, breaches of contract, the forces of nature or other causes. These risks and dangers may arise from foreseeable or unforeseeable causes; and (d) by my participation in these activities and/or use of equipment, I hereby assume all risks and dangers and all responsibility for any losses and/or damages, whether caused in whole or in part by the negligence or other conduct of the owners, agents officers, employees of The Hutt Cartel, or by any other person.

___I, on behalf of myself, my personal representatives and my heirs, hereby voluntarily agree to release, waive, discharge, hold harmless, defend and indemnify The Hutt Cartel and its owners, agents, officers and employees from any and all claims, actions, or losses for bodily injury, property damage, wrongful death, loss of services or otherwise which may arise out of my use of hutball equipment, or my participation in huttball activities, I specifically understand that I am releasing, discharging and waiving any claims or actions that I may have present or in the future for the negligent acts or other conduct by the owners, agents, officers or employees of The Hutt Cartel.

___I HAVE READ THE ABOVE WAIVER AND RELEASE AND BY SIGNING IT AGREE THAT IT IS MY INTENTION TO EXEMPT AND RELIEVE THE HUTT CARTEL FROM LIABILITY FOR PERSONAL INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR WRONGFUL DEATH CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE OR ANY OTHER CAUSE. REMEMBER, YOU ARE PLAYING AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Notes & Guidelines


  • GENERAL​

    • This event is Maim Disabled and Death Disabled.
      • Players may still choose to have their characters maimed or killed. However, we request that these occurrences be withheld until the event draws to a close.
    • An open observation thread will be posted that will run parallel to the event thread. Characters that aren't participating are encouraged to join, make bets, and socialise!
    • Most importantly, HAVE FUN! This is an event for everyone to have fun with, so please do not treat it like a sweaty tryhard competition!

    POSTING REQUIREMENTS​

    • Following the DM's initial post to begin the thread, all participants will have 48 hours to make their posts. Once all players have posted, or after the 48 hours have concluded, the DM will post again.
    • If, for any reason, you believe you may be unable to meet the 48-hour requirement, we politely request that you do not sign up.
    • Weekend extensions apply. If you do not know what a weekend extension is, see here.

    USE OF DICE​

    • The use of dice is required.
    • All participants must specify, regardless of their dice roll, that all actions are attempts.
    • All participants will utilise dice (d20) to decide the effectiveness of one (1) "major action." For examples of what qualifies as a "major action," please see the Gameplay Specifics tab.
    • For the sake of clarity, participants must state what action they are taking before rolling. If you do not state your action before rolling, you will be asked to re-roll.
    • All participants are requested to use the #dice-misc-commands channel on the Discord server for their rolls. Participants may use the Difficulty Check subforum if they so choose, but will be required to link the roll in their post.
    • Additional rolls may be requested by the DM, even after a participant has already posted.

    TEAM COMPOSITION​

    • 3 vs. 3 teams only.
    • In the event that there are more than six (6) sign-ups, participants will be randomly selected.
    • Teams will be randomly assigned.
    • As a result of all characters from all factions being eligible to participate, the possibility exists that characters from opposing factions may be on the same team and required to work together.

  • GENERAL​

    • The Huttball is heavy. It is required to be carried with both/all hands, regardless of the character's species or strength.
    • Participants reaching the opposing team's goal line must physically have the ball in their possession to score.
    • Force use is allowed.

    MAJOR ACTIONS, CONFLICTING ACTIONS, AND "LONE WOLVES"​

    • "Major Actions" include things such as launching attacks on opposing characters, grabbing the ball, attempting to progress across the field while in possession of the ball, etc.
      • If you are unsure whether or not your action can be considered a "major action," please message or tag the DM for clarification!
    • Occasionally, actions from opposing players conflict with one another, such as two participants competing to gain possession of the ball first. The highest roll may win, but ultimately, the DM will decide the effectiveness of player actions based on the rolls.
      • As an example, if Participant A rolls a 1 to gain possession of the ball and their opposition rolls a 2, it's highly likely neither participant will gain possession of the ball.
    • If a player is alone against multiple opponents (Lone Wolves), the Lone Wolf may be requested to roll a second time for disadvantage.
      • "Disadvantage" is when a participant is required to roll a second time and use the lower of their two rolls.

    ARMOUR AND WEAPONS​

    • All participants begin with no weapons in their possession.
    • The DM will distribute randomised weapons from an assorted list, as well as other items, across the arena for participants to pick up and use.
    • Participants will wear a standard raiment of armour, but are permitted to use three (3)stock armour functions of their choice.
