Ilana Morata, founder and former CEO of MorataCorp, killed in violent assault

Dr. Ilana Morata, founder and former CEO of MorataCorp, famous for its development of the AMS vaccine in addition to many other achievements, was found dead this morning at a MorataCorp hospital facility.

First responders at the scene reported a massive causality, with no survivors found on the premises. Extracted video footage shows what can only be described as a slaughter as a man hunted down and killed every last inhabitant. There appears to have been a brief exchange between the man and Dr. Morata after she arrived on the scene, after which she was met with a gruesome end by the man's hand.

Local and federal enforcement officers are looking into the identity of this man, but no leads have been found thus far. If anyone has any information, please contact the enforcement agency number here.

Already, people around the galaxy are holding vigils for the late doctor. Her creation of the AMS vaccine saved billions of lives, and her decision to distribute it without cost saved even more. She will be remembered fondly.

Dr. Morata's daughter has been contacted for an interview for further words on the woman's death.

In the back of Rache Robotics, Kara Zaa Fenn was watching the news with a shock of surprise so great that a mouthful of noodles fell back into its bowl. "The MorataCorp?" she uttered in surprise, prompting one of the weequays to turn towards her thinking that she'd been inside too much that she suddenly cared about the tidings of the galactic rich and famous.

What the weequay didn't know and Kara did, was that years ago the Zaa Fenn Crime Family had MorataCorp sell its spice through their medical dispensaries in the Core. It had been Preef's most ingenious racket and all because Doctor Iliana Morata's own head of security had attempted to double-cross and kill the rodian at his prime. Preef had always told her that he also had Ilana sign a contract that had given him fifty-percent ownership of the AMS vaccine patent. If it hadn't been for Emryc Thorne's involvement with MorataCorp the rodian would've had the biggest source of legitimite income of all the Outer Rim's scoundrels in the galaxy.

Unfortunately the old frog had to fake his own death shortly after and disappeared for the better part of twenty years. Kara had always thought the rich and powerful like Dr. Morata -being protected by President Thorne of all people- were untouchable. Just thinking of robbing their houses of their artworks was absolutely out of the question. Yet here this single man had been and he just went and wiped them all out.

There was only one thing that could do this. The Force. Preef was right to fake his own death when the Sith Order wanted him so. Kara heart the chopsticks rattle against the edge of her bowl before she realized her hands were shaking from fear. What use was unlimited wealth if it couldn't protect you against these monsters? What could was blaster.. besides blowing your own brains out.

 

[Newton]

This was news that caught the attention of the Blackwell Tech CEO. Doctor Ilana Morata, killed in a 'violent assaults'. Whoever killed her was unknown. Newton regarded Morata well she was an intelligent businesswoman, things that Newton respects of her even if he does not share her more altruistic mindset. They even collaborated before. Newton did not watch the footage of the death, at least not yet. Leaving it to his imagination.

Newton would then order his secretary droid "L3, release a press statement. We are sad to see the passing of Ilana Morata, someone who has done so much good across the galaxy. Rest in peace and all that. Make it look heartfelt."

The protocol droid, if it could do facial expressions, would just stare at Newton before turning away to carry out the task ordered by her master. Meanwhile, Newton would look at the news report. This may be a good opportunity, maybe he can get his hands on pieces of MorataCorp, maybe all of it. Let no opportunity go to waste, as Newton was taught.

And just in case, Newton is going to be sure to shore up his personal droid bodyguard retinue, security around his office and his homes.

Anyways, time to watch and see how low MorataCorps stocks will go...
