Naboo

It felt weird going without Theia, in fact, it just felt empty without having her daughter home. She worried about her training in the Jedi, the path she chose she imagined was just as dangerous as one as the sith. It seemed like they were doing horribly in the galaxy, incompetent and were becoming the butt of jokes anytime the holo switched to their latest disaster story. However, deep down, it felt right for her daughter to follow this path, as predicted, she grew attached to her daughter, something she didn't think was entirely possible with her fleeting personality, and she ensured that her daughter would not suffer as she did when she grew up. Plus, she had Ezzie, and despite her own opinion of the Jedi Order, this seemed tolerable for now.

She decided to drop in on Emryc and Jaikus, only sensing one of them were home and the security droid advised as much. She had brought by a box of treats, inside divided into quarters with a sampling for each member of the Thorne family's favorite desserts from the woman. Leaving them where they could be found easily before finding Emryc in his personal gym. She stood quietly while letting him finish; she caught her gaze in the mirrors around the room noting her cheeks looked a bit more sunken lately. She easily assumed it was from worry over her daughter. Instead of fussing over her own looks, Tia refocused and couldn't help but to think of the popular Thorne Workout Routines that continue to be trending all over the holonet. Theia often told her about the boys at school who were trying to get into the routine and her confusion as to rather compliment or criticize their efforts.

"Theia said she already misses your smoothies." Tiamat told Emryc when he took a break.

Emryc would never say this aloud, but at times he missed having Raze confined within his mind. While the entity was entirely too unbearable when fully unleashed, inside the confines of his mind Raze served as a perfect guardrail against spiraling emotions and disappointment. While Emryc was stoic and aloof by nature, without Raze he found himself quicker to anger or suffer losses. He was more human, and he despised it. To let off steam, he usually either meditated or disappeared into the massive gym.

The half Sephi was alerted to Tia’s arrival and he did extra reps because he knew she came with snacks and he would ingest extra calories. He took a break and walked over to grab a bottle of water, emerging towards where Tia stood waiting. He was dressed in a tank top and gym shorts, his muscled frame revealed and lined with sweat. And somehow he still smelled like expensive cologne.

“At least someone appreciates highly nutritious antioxidants,” He stated dryly, thinking of how much grief his family gave him about his smoothies. Emryc checked his chrono, satisfied with the heart rate and other health stats he saw, “So she went Jedi as well,” He stated rather than asking. He could practically sense the displeasure oozing off Tiamat.

The woman smirked to his remark about the smoothies, though she had her own tastes in food that were less than desirable by most living beings in the galaxy, there were entirely worse things that Theia could find as her favorite drinks. Of course, Tiamat was not an outlier to joining in the family to give her input of his smoothie making, though Emryc was pretty quick to remind her of her expired food eating habits. She walked with Emryc, noting his cologne, probably one of her favorite features about him and entirely baffled how someone covered in sweat could still smell so good. Her thoughts didn't linger long as Emryc stated what was bothering her the most right now.

"Yes, I don't know now if that's worse than her wanting to go to Art School." A palm folded over her eyes as she rubbed her face, "She wants to go to art school too, Emryc, she's taking university level courses and she wants to be an artist now." Tiamat didn't understand how that all worked, she was so certain her daughter was set on engineering and astro-physics. Was this rebellion? Revenge in some way? Was her daughter mad at her for something?

"I don't know how I messed up this time. Maybe training with Ezzie will change her mind while seeing him with his courses."

Emryc quirked a brow as he looked at her, “Her wanting to go into arts is more like you than you realize,” He said dryly as he took a seat. While he didn’t voice this aloud, he couldn’t help but notice how relaxed Tia was now around him - more than she had ever been in the past. There was no uncomfortable tension, no hidden urges and no cloud of longing ‘what ifs’. She was truly here to see a friend. He briefly wondered what brought the change in the dynamic, but his jaw tightened when he realized why. It was because Raze was no longer a part of him. Her true devotion and attachment had always been to that part of him and it was never as clear to him as it was now. It didn't matter what Raze looked like now, it had always been about that entity.

The half Sephi quietly sipped from his bottle of water, “It was foolish of us to believe that the Force could simply be brushed under the rug. That was never the case for us, so why did we expect it of our children?” He asked bitterly, his icy gaze staring into a wall opposite of him.

Emryc realized his question actually had little to do with her complaints. He actually paused to chuckle dryly to himself. That was so human of him. So unnatural and odd - to suddenly express dismay about something unrelated to the exact topic at hand. His own behavior surprised him ever since Raze was expelled, and he wasn’t sure how much he liked it.

Emryc was right, of course, her daughter was a lot like her in many ways. She had tried to reflect her teen's attitude that they were not at all alike, as though it would offer some course of peace between the two of them as she became more autonomous in her decisions. However, it only seemed to highlight those similarities more and her going to art school, well, if things were different, Tia would certainly had continued with a ballet career. Though for Emryc, she gave him a pout, "She's so much more intelligent than art school..." she sighed as though trying to continue to convince herself of her denial.

Though what Emryc said next took her by surprise, and nearly left the redheaded woman confused as though something else had possessed the Emryc she had come to know after all these years. His tone was harsh, bitter, she wondered if he were still angry at how it all transpired; she worried also how Theia would react to knowing one day who she was and her history. The woman picked a cookie from the treat box she brought and offered Em to do the same.

"I never would have wanted any of them to go through what we experienced as youth." Tiamat stated, there was no doubt she would burn the galaxy to ash if anyone hurt Theia, Ezra or Jayna as she were hurt, or even the torment that Emryc gone through in his early years.
