DESCRIPTION
The Incursor-class cruiser is a warship once manufactured by the venerable Kuat Drive Yards. Designed alongside the heavier Victory-class heavy cruiser during the Clone Wars, the Incursor was meant as a fast, independent scout and patrol ship, equipped with relatively heavy firepower coupled to powerful engines, sophisticated sensors and long-range communications gear. It was considered capable of destroying most opponents, and those it could not destroy it could run from.

The Incursor is some 620 meters in length, with a crew of 4,500, passenger capacity of 1,000 and cargo capacity of 6,500 tons. It has consumables stores sufficient for up to 2 years in space. Armament ranges from heavy turbolasers to ion cannons and tractor beams. The Incursor can carry up to a full squadron of starfighters, plus support shuttles. Top speed is an impressive 70 MGLT, plus a class 1 hyperdrive.

Incursor-class cruisers were delayed entering service, not seen in action until the final weeks of the Clone Wars. The Galactic Empire retained the type, however, and placed orders for many more. They were used primarily for patrols of frontier sectors, and despite the intensity of the Galactic Civil War, many actually survived, primarily due to their isolation from regular Imperial fleet command.

In the present day, most Incursors are serving out their retirement in various sector mothball fleets and junkyards. As the Galaxy resumes a war footing, however, more and more have been dredged up, being restored and returned to service by various powers.

LEGALITY
Restricted. Incursor-class cruisers are classified as capital ships under Galactic law, and possess heavy weapons. As such, civilian owners will require extra licensing to operate one legally, and will receive increased scrutiny by authorities. Even then, they are ridiculously expensive to operate; only a relatively large faction or particularly wealthy government would be able to afford it without swiftly bankrupting themselves. An individual would stand no chance.

INTENT
To bring a fan creation by EC Henry into our fanon

RESTRICTIONS
Incursor-class cruisers are large capital ships with heavy weapons, and capital ships cannot be owned or operated by individual characters. A faction would be required to obtain and crew a ship of this size.
