Everyone knows of Corden Vencu's rise to power. It's public knowledge and known to every Mandalorian, even the toddlers.

Correct. Corden fought and defeated Mandalore the Indomitable twice before the civil war broke out. At the end of the war, he was challenged for leadership of the clans by Lucius Veshok, the last remaining Loyalist general. Corden was again victorious.
