Advancing in rank isn't really the point of a character. It's about building exciting stories. Rank doesn't mean all that much in the scheme of things. Just enjoy the ride and keep writing those threads.

I do know that, but I still wish to become a Jedi Master. I don't want to stay a Padawan.

Well, don't be focusing on ranking up too quickly, as that's what it sounds like you're doing. Focus on the writing aspect first - if you truly find it necessary, ranks'll come later.

It took me 5 months to get Knight then another 4 to get Master. I can tell you right now that regardless of who trains you your new character won't become a knight before the skip.

Patience, young Padawan, is a virtue not a vice. A Jedi should most definitely know patience, and if you lack it OOC then somewhere along the line it'll reflect on your character too.
