Knight of the Jedi Order

There is a law to conflict.
A law among warriors.
A battle is no petty squabble.
So long as both sides remain, it will never come to an end.
But why is that the case?
What is our reason to fight?
Do we need a reason, to battle?
What are we to admit to ourselves?
Do we want to fight?

Everyone desires power, and those who seek to gain power,
without exception, will also seek battle.
What is it then?
Do we battle to achieve more power?
Or do we desire more power so we can battle?
What is the answer, or is there one?
Were we all destined to be this way?
Did we have a choice?

Will our path forever be that of endless conflict?
Why is it we instinctively seek out battle?
For it is only through battle that we attain power.
We must fight.
Why is it that those who desire power,
take their blades and cut down their enemies?
It is because there is no other path.
Not in front of us, nor behind us.
We must fight.

COMPOSITION AND APPEARANCE:
Javiik Valivin is a Xa'Qyus
Phemisian Human male. He has a fairly stature of 6'2, and possesses a well-toned medium body frame, weighing in at 164 lbs. He has hazel eyes, has dark brown medium-length hair, and bears symbolic Phemisian tattoos on his left and right shoulders, which he recieved as a child. His right shoulder bears the "rauh" character, which represents one's "Strength of Mind". His right shoulder bears the "rauh" character, which represents one's "Strength of Mind". In Phemisian culture, it is this which accounts for one's will, focus, courage, and bravery.

Javiik also has a small scar on the bottom-right side of his cheek. Over his torso are dozens of scars from blasterfire. He has a medium-light tone of skin and typically has a serious expression on his face. His left shoulder bears the "sunak" character, which represents one's the "Strength of Body". "Sanuk" symbolizes one's physical prowess, strength, conditioning, and good health. Javiik wears his own personalized variant of Jedi robes. Choosing to keep a reminder of his roots, Javiik imprinted several Phemisian characters from his homeworld onto the left side of his robe. Javiik also wears light armor, something out of the ordinary for most Jedi. In addition, Javiik is naturally left-handed, but has self-taught himself ambidexterity.

PERSONALITY:
In his younger Padawan years, Javiik was an outspoken individual, often times forgetting his place in the process, even when in the presence of other Jedi Masters. Being the last of the
Xa'Qyus, Javiik tends to feel lonely at times, often distancing himself from others. A strict believer in the path of the Jedi, Javiik held an unbending belief in the Jedi Order and their philosophies on the Force. As such, Javiik was, and still is, extremely devoted and loyal to the Jedi. However, this extreme devotion fueled Javiik's already strongly developed sense of justice, a trait linked to the people of his homeworld of Phemis.

In turn Javiik also developed a headstrong demeanor in his personality, rarely backing down on any beliefs he concluded from his own observation to be in harmony with the Jedi Code guidelines. For a brief time, his stubbornness reached such a degree that manifested into arrogance, though he was quickly reproved before it could bear any serious influence over him. As Javiik grew into an adolescent, his personality and perception on the Jedi path matured along with him. Still, Javiik held on to some of his old traits, including traces of his obstinance. Most prominently, Javiik never lost his strong sense of justice.

LIKES AND DISLIKES:
Much like his Master, Javiik is a swordsman. His most enjoys exercising his skills through private practice or sparring. Javiik also enjoys sparring in unarmed combat. Aside from fighting, Javiik has a highly spiritual nature about him, and frequently engages in deep meditation. Javiik is not much of a conservationist, however, and detests long, drawn out meetings. Due to his strong sense of justice and loyalty, Javiik also distrusts and despises individuals that have broken their vows. This was most prominently displayed during the Conclave on Ossus, when the Jedi Order split into two sides, the other side being the Opision Guardians.

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
Javiik is a prodigy swordsman and a natural-born duelist. His greatest strength comes from his powerful connection to the Force. As a Jedi, Javiik echoes his Master's appreciation for swordsmanship. Physically in his prime, Javiik is an excellent unarmed combatant, and often uses the Force to enhance is already impressive traits. Perfectly aligned with his strengths, Javiik is a powerful practitioner of Form V: Djem So and its variant, Form V: Shien. After undergoing more advanced training with his former master, Javiik began learning the newly founded form, Tràkata.

Javiik is also a keen tactician and analyst, often making use of his surrounding while pressing the attack against an opponent. In the Force, Javiik has learned a series of powers, including psychokinesis, telepathy, Force speed, Force jump, Farsight, the Jedi Mind trick, Breath control, psychometry, precognition, Force stun, Force heal, and Force deflection. He also appears to possess at least some shatterpont abilities.

For all of his strengths in the Force, however, his greatest weakness is
by farhis telepathic ineptitude. Beyond his immediate vicinity, Javiik has considerable difficulty engaging in telepathy. Javiik also has an ignorance of many skills considered to be common in the galaxy. For example, he lacks basic skill at wielding blasters, everything from pistols to rifles.

HISTORY:

Child of Warfare

Amongst the requiem of fallen,
those who fought in the dunes of the sea.
We stood prepared to avenge the stolen,
from the face of the enemy, we would never flee.
In the
battlefield stained with blood and spite,
we fought with our own hands.
So in our hope and will to fight,
we might be victorious, and free our lands.

Javiik Valivin was born in the Colonies Region, on the ravaged world of Phemis. Though once a beautiful utopia, for over 10,000 years, Phemis had been plagued by civil wars, guerrilla attacks, political corruption, and countless rebellions. The endless conflict between the six Phemisian tribes
the Yal'Geri, the Osulas, the Jalari, the Tekek, the Sular, and Javiik's tribe, the Xa'Qyus―had ravaged the landscape, reducing over 40% of Phemis to desertlands. Javiik was born during a three-way war between his tribe, the Tekek and the Osulas. After the climax of the war, the three tribes laid on the brink of extinction. Taking advantage of their predicted battle-weary demeanor, the Republic dispatched a company of troops led by three Jedi Knights to try and reconcile the tribes.

Refusing to make amends, after the Phemisians believed the Jedi and Republic troops had left, the three tribes launched a final assault against each other. As a child soldier, and one of the last remaining members of his tribe, six-year-old Javiik entered the battle. However, the Yal'Geri tribe had taken advantage of the state of the weakened tribes, and launched their own attack. By the time the Republic military troops had recieved news of the skirmish, the battle was nearing it's end. Although the Osulas and Tekek remained, the Xa'Qyus were all but extinct. In the battlefield, the Javiik was the only one who still retained a speck of life. The Jedi, upon healing him, discovered Javiik's Force sensitivity.

Upon awakening briefly several minutes later, it was revealed to Javiik that his people were wiped out. Due to Javiik's young age, the Jedi came to Javiik and invited him to walk another path. Emotionally lost, Javiik responeded that he didn't care and had nothing to lose. After Javiik arrived on Ossus, it took many months before he recovered emotionally.

Advent on Aridus

The dragon looks up towards the sea of the stars,
the shining moon unveils his tears and his scars.
In the grip of the night, the apex of the dark,
the dragon shall cry out in a wail ever stark.

By the time Javiik had become an adolescent, he was regularly given minor tasks to render assistance to the Republic. Throughout his years, his most significant trial came when he and a small company of domestic Republic soldiers were in a transport shuttle to the desert world of Aridus. It was believed that disorder was crippiling the planet's export of mineral sources. However, but the time the Republic took action, a crime syndicate had overthrown the planet's capital, and communication with the Republic had been cut off. By the time the shuttle had reached the planet, AD towers placed on the outskirts of Trade City shot the shuttle down, causing it to crash-land in a valley. Most of the soldiers survived, although they were quickly ambushed by hired mercenaries.

They skirmish lasted very briefly, leading Javiik to assume that they were recon units, and had no intention of fighting outright. By the time Javiik and the Republic troopers had reached Trade City, they were under attack by the syndicate's soldiers. Outgunned, the Republic troopers were nearly wiped out during the battle inside Trade City, and the survivors were forced to hide in the underground. While recovering, Javiik and the troops managed to get ahold of local clothing. Javiik initially refused, although upon seeing a recently posted contract for a Jedi travelling with Republic troops, he decided it would be safest to disguise himself.

Javiik still kept his lightsaber on him, albeit hidden from plain sight, and carried a large knife in its stead as his only tool of defense. Although the city was still under criminal control, it was dreadfully obvious that discovering a way to retreat off-planet was the only logical option. First, however, they had to find a means of communication. Due to the occupation of mercenaries, typical comm systems would probably be out of commision. The best chance Javiik saw was trying to salvage the comm systems from their downed transport ship. To reduce the chance of arousing suspicion, Javiik decided to venture alone. Initially, it was a success. Javiik wasn't a technicion, but he was aware of the comonents he'd need to bring.

After getting the parts back to the soldiers, they managesd to sent a secured distress call. By the next day, however, the signal has discovered and traced. Barely dawn, Javiik and the soldiers were, again, under attack. The battle that followed was the sign of Trade City's doom. Riots broke out, and chaos spread throughout the city. Hours later, Republic warships landed on Aridus, and dispatched more troopers to quell the city's riot. Javiik returned to Ossus following the ship's depature. Although memorable, Javiik dislikes recalling the sights he saw during the Battle of Trade City.

Ultimatum in the Epicus Dunes

The days are dark, and times have changed,

the people look on, deterred and estranged.

The deaf ones yearn, yet never gain,
the blind ones seek in hope and vain.
As the stars above reign over the world,
the moon shines on, the oceans purled.
For they who weep and mourn for the past,
will face reality, and be aghast.

By the time Javiik had completed his Jedi training under his master, Huang Karasu, he was repeatedly called upon to aid the Republic in increasingly dangerous missions. Many tested his proficiency as a Jedi in terms of keeping the peace, and at other times, in terms of martial might and skill. No mission of his affected him more than the order he received to escort a company of Republic Troopers in an attempt to, once again, restore peace and order on Phemis. As fate would have it, the Jedi Order had recently undergone a volatile schism, and Javiik was the only Jedi who accepted a mission that nobody expected to be accomplished. As the shuttle approached the planet, Javiik saw the deserts he'd once been so devoted to. The land he once was willing to fall down in death to defend. Before he left the ship, the head of the expedition, Captain Kalo, gave Javiik a datapad to debrief him on the current situation.

To Javiik's astonishment, none of the tribes of his time were still existing. Others had scattered, reformed. The Phemisian tribes destroyed each other, spread out, and then reorganized under new banners. To say the least, the state of affairs was pitiful. As Javiik and the Republic troopers left the transport, they were met by a warlord who called himself Luriik, and his tribesmen. As Javiik approached, the Phemisians were astonished to see symbolic characters written on his robes, and more importantly, tattooed on his arms. Luriik asked Javiik where he learned of their language. In turn, Javiik responded, in Phemisese, that he was the last survivor of the
Xa'Qyus during their final battle. There was silence for a while, until Kalo spoke out to Luriik about negotiating. Luriik led the Javiik and Kalo to a building. Inside there were several different men and women, the leaders of their apparent tribes.

Initially, they all gave Javiik the same look, although he didn't bother explaining his origins. Kalo took the lead in the talking, which unsurprisingly ended on a distasteful note. None of the tribes wanted to sacrifice their power by joining societies, and choosing a single representative. Two tribe leaders, Xuriik of the R'oam and Osiia of the H-Ior, remarked in Phemisese that they ought to kill Kalo for his foolhardy demands. Javiik harshly responded back to the two leaders in Phemisese, that if they tried, he would not hesitate in slaying them. Startled, it basically became apparent that "the Jedi with the Republic soldiers" was a Phemisian. More cautious, Kalo asked Javiik what the tribe leaders said. Javiik responded honestly, much to the discomfort of Kalo. When it became obvious that the tribes would not comply with the Republic's demands, Kalo ordered the warship in orbit to dispatch the peacekeeping troops.

The Republic's patience with Phemis was exhausted, and they were now going to act with force. Before Kalo could give the coordinates of where to drop in, Javiik stopped him, remarking that the information of the tribes' locations were false. If anything, they were places easiest to launch ambushes. Above all, the information was several months old. Phemisians were like nomads, they never stayed in a single location too long. Javiik examined a geological map of Phemis, and took the lead in estimating the areas where tribes were hiding, where cover was most advantageous, and the best ways to approach. It wasn't going to be a simple task, this was going to be a planet-wide battle. The preperation took hours, and before execution, Javiik clad himself in light armor plating. Ironically, the place Javiik's destination was the Epicus Dunes, the site of his tribe's last battle.

As predicted, war broke out across the planet. Javiik fought alongside the Republic soldiers, slaying his former people. But it was their leaders that were to die. The greatest flaw of the Phemisian tribes was their dependency on their leader. Without one, they were lost, much like Javiik once was. By the next day, the war ended, and the Republic was victorious. Javiik stood in the Epicus Dunes, looking out at the battlefield. In time, he knew that, like the tribes of his generation, the people of Phemis would forget, and would move on past their endless battling. Javiik then left Phemis, although he left with only the injured. To ensure stability, the Republic left their soldiers on Phemis as a garrison. The project of resurrecting Phemis' of it's desertification and the building and establishing of a capital city, were the prime objectives. Javiik returned to Ossus to meditate, feeling drained after fufilling his duties. But sacrifice was the life of a Jedi, and he was prepared to face whatever fate demanded of him.

With the Jedi Order aligning itself with the Galactic Republic against the Alsakan Union, Javiik fought in several skirmishes during the Alsakan Crisis, coming to knighthood sometime before its ultimate climax. After the Republic's deeper efforts of expansion into the rims of space, Javiik also again took action in defense of the Republic. With the sudden outbreak of the Hutt War, Javiik again entered into the conflict engulfing the galaxy.
