BIOGRAPHY

John grew up in an asteroid mine. His father had sold him off to a mining conglomerate to satisfy his debts. The boy was taught his letters only so far as he could read the repair manual for when the drill broke down. 14 hour shifts were normal. He would jackhammer into the cortosis ore, the vibrations tearing up his muscles, bits of rock and debris pelting him. All he could do was shrug away his pains and wait for sleep. Then he'd wake up, come back for work the next day, and do it all over again. Sometimes he'd get into fights with other meatheads; low-g brawls, fists and claws, cuts and bruises. Some wounds don't heal.

But John was big, and getting bigger. A huge brawl that erupted over a sandwich saw John knock out a man's front teeth, poke out another's eye, and bite off an ear. As he learned to control his temper, he got a reputation. "The Action Man", they called him. John's talent for bloodshed was utilized by his payrolled supervisors, who'd send him in ostensibly to break up fights, but really to punish those who got out of line. It was during one of these fights, when John was ganged up on by four others, that he awakened the force.

These men beat the shit out of him. As he lay on the rocky floor of the mine in a rumpled heap, beaten and bloodied, but angry and enraged, a strange power flowed through him. His strength returned. Getting up, he walked over to his supervisor's office, and strangled the bastard to death. He didn't know why he did it. He just felt that he should. Rummaging through papers on his desk, John found his boss had ordered the men to kill him.

John couldn't explain why he had killed. He just had. The force guided him. Told him things. It was that same day that John's luck struck again. He would have been executed, but the mine was raided by pirates affiliated with the Sith. Offering to work for them, John was released from bondage. Another unlikely, but fateful coincidence.

Leaving the pirates, he desperately sought answers with the Sith. What was this power? Why was he driven to kill? To move among the higher social classes of Sith circles, he adopted the name "John Q" to obscure his more humble and backwater origins. Uneducated and knowing only violence, John bumbled his way around, eschewing social niceties and decorum and prone to social indiscretion. Yet intrigued by the force, he searches for a master to unlock his true power.

Skills

John is good at brawling and hand-to-hand combat. He is learning lightsaber combat and how to channel the force. Having mined all his life, he is an expert on anything in the ground... and putting people in it.
