[This is a bit of a social thread. Violence can happen, but isn't preferred. If you want to develope your characters, by all means, jump in!]

Her lips were pursed and puckered as she squinted from the burn of the alcohol. Slypher wasn't one to drink much, but she did occasionally enjoy it. It was odd, seeing someone so young as her drinking as if she were older. None-the-less, she kept her lightsaber hidden under her jacket. She wore normal clothes, not wanting to look like a doom-and-gloom dark priestess for once and actually look like a girl. It was one of those rare nights that she actually wore a pair of normal pants and a normal shirt with normal boots and a normal jacket. She even put on a small bit of make-up.

Whether she realized it or not, she blended in with the crowd around her. She looked like an average human girl. Of course, that could have its downsides as well. She didn't want some dumb nerf-herder to mistake her for an easy piece of meat that they could persuade to sneak off into the night as if she were a nymph looking for the time of her life. Unlike most morons her age, she focused on bigger things.

It just felt good to unwind and have a few drinks. Just enough to catch a buzz. Granted, she had been drunk out of her mind one time on Correllia. It wasn't fun.

"Need another?" The bartender droid asked as it approached her. She simply nodded and turned in her seat as it filled the cup up. She watched a dark-skinned human walk up on stage, bobbing his head as the beat to his music came on. He started to rhyme into the microphone, leading off into a chorus about the struggles of life or something like that. It sounded good.

She looked around at the people that filled the room with her. She wondered how many of them would run in utter fear of what she was rather than actually sit down and have a conversation with her? Who in that room would care to hear the words of a person that traveled beyond the known light side of the force to obtain knowledge that most would be too scared to embrace? She could only wonder as she sat and sipped on her drink, letting the alcohol sooth her tense muscles. She waited, waited for someone to come and spark a conversation and cure her boredom. She was sure someone had their eye on her.

(Well, this could be interesting. I guess I'll jump in myself.)

The moment Jaron Unskii walked into the average sized bar - nightclub, actually, it seemed - he'd been assaulted with an array of scents and sights and sounds that rather often amused him. And interested him as well, of course - if one only used their nose they might figure out just what array of habits those in the bar had. Those who used spice, the others who were fond of t'bac pipes, and just how many people - judging by the scents of cologne and pheromones upon them - were hoping to get lucky tonight.

There was one thing, however, that he found rather odd, this night.

Normally, one would find numerous force-sensitives in a place like this, though one wouldn't normally find one who seemed rather sure of their abilities, whose sensitivity had seemed to have been tempered by training. Not so, here - the Keshiri acolyte could sense one such being, near the bar - though he wasn't close enough to determine anything other than that.

Thankful both that he had his lightsaber concealed, and that he'd dressed not unlike those who commonly frequented this part of the Galaxy, Jaron walked up to the bar. The bartender asked what he'd have, and - contrary to his general nature - the acolyte asked for a glass of Merenzane Gold, rather than a wine.

After a moment, he seemed to notice the woman sitting next to him. He turned slightly towards her - yep, she was definitely the one he had sensed earlier - and flashed her a small smile.

"I wonder, what's a young woman like yourself doing in a place like this?" he asked, though not unkindly. "I don't know that I would prefer to be here, were I your age."

Varnus Maximus walked into the nightclub. He wasn't a person looking for a party, but for a good place for a cigarette. He walked to the bar. "What have you got, bartender?" he asked. The bartender showed him the drinks. "I think I will have a martini and some wine." He couldn't help, but notice the two people sitting next to him. "Greetings. What are you two doing around in a place like this?"

"I could say the same to the both of you," she said, eyeing the both of them as they sat down beside her. It was sudden, the two coming up. One appeared to have been fixed on her in the first place, as if he knew what and who she was. Or he could have sensed her. Either or, she felt an allegiance with him, however small it was. The man must have been a Sith, for no Jedi would be drawn like that to someone who used the dark side. Rather, they would just ignite their sabers on sight and launch an attack. How unfortunate for the foolish Jedi in the galaxy who assumed the only way a Sith thinks is with their lightsaber.

The other that approached, much to her relief, not that she didn't like the other guy or anything, appeared to have legitimately sat at the bar at the right time and was looking to spark casual conversation with someone to pass the time. She sensed, however, something of a distrust for the Sith in him. It was only a hunch, and could've been her senses betraying her, but she felt it was safe to refrain from telling the guy what she was. She wasn't looking for a fight or an outbreak to ruin her night; just a drink and some conversation to pass the time.

"I'm Slypher," she said to them both. "Care to give me your names?"

"Jaron," the Keshiri replied, taking a sip of his liquor. "Jaron Unskii, in full. Nice to meet you. And you too," he said, turning slightly to the other man to come by. Now that he was close, Jaron could definitely tell what he'd sensed - it was the dark side, in the girl there. He'd no idea if she was Sith, or not, but at least he had nothing to fear, for the moment. Wonderful.

"As for why I'm here, well, I came to get a drink. Isn't that why everybody comes to a place such as this?"

"Varnus Maximus is my name. Gambling and crime is my game." Varnus replied. He wasn't doing anything at the moment. He was just getting a drink. "I came here also for a good drink."

"Good a reason as any," Slypher said, finishing off her drink. Her attention then turned to Varnus, who explained his apparent profession as well as his reasoning for being there. Again, it was as good a reason as any. "So you're on the run from the law?" She asked as she waved her hand for another drink. She felt like getting more than just muscle relaxation all-of-the-sudden. She wanted a good buzz, maybe even getting a bit tipsy before returning to her hotel room. It was an off-day, and was meant to be enjoyed with drinks and gambling and games all around.

"I'm not exactly in agreement with the law myself, actualy," she said, careful not to reveal her true allegiances or what she really was. She knew that the other adept beside her could pry into her head, she just didn't know how far. With her almost a crusader, she could hide herself very easily in the force if she so wished it. At this point, she didn't care. She followed the dark side, and was profficient in it. Who cared? There was no threat around, so there was no reason to be tense.

"Is anybody in agreement with the law, these days?" Jaron asked, smiling again - somewhat more easily, this time. He briefly contemplated seeing if he could learn something more from this woman next to him, but decided against it - on the off chance that she might get angry with him, and try to attack, of course.

That, and the fact that it was just courteous not to pry.

"But on the topic of gambling, do you prefer Pazaak or Sabacc?"

"I don't run from the law. I enforce it. As for gambling, I will play both." Varnus replied. He made sure not to mention who he works for. Nobody even deserves to know anything about it. "I work for nobody and no organization, I am independent. Solo."
