Killian Lok

COMPOSITION AND APPEARANCE:
Killian Lok, being Iridonian, has a light yellow to his skin and small horns that grow in a crown around his head. He is completely bald and also has no facial hair, as Zabraks generally do not grow such hair. With a light purple tint to his eyes, he is moderately attractive to other Zabraks. With a thin build to him, he looks much younger then he lets on. He has light red facial tattoos that extend from his eyes and crisscross down throughout his face. His skin is tough and rough, and has a mottled look to it.

PERSONALITY:
Killian started as an inquisitive but determined boy, as most Iridonians do. Playful and energetic, Killian loved telling jokes and laughing, something that caused him to have many friends in the Order. This continued from youngling years to his Padawan years. He was oft scolded by his Master, a serious and contemplative person for his jokes and mockery, who told him that "There is a time for jokes and a time to be serious. Know the difference." However, after his ordeal on Jabiim, Killian's personality changed slightly. No longer a joker or funnyman, he took life much more serious, after seeing the consequences and trouble that life can throw at a single person. Now, after the accident, his personality has changed much like his Masters was, of a contemplative and serious tone.

Killian was also very prideful of his race and their heritage, bragging about it as a way to start conversation. However, he has realized since then that this does not look good in anyone's eyes and has resorted to speaking about it only if asked. He has become withdrawn and somewhat anti-social, but will still talk and comment when need be.

LIKES AND DISLIKES:

Killian is very opinionated as a Zabrak, as most Zabraks are. He has various likes and dislikes. Where most people love music, sports, etc. Killian takes no pleasure from them now. Killian loves to read, and does so quite often. He spends much of his time in the Archives, researching and learning of the past of the Jedi. However, Killian will not put up with loud noise, or raucous jokes, as he has matured way past his previous form and believes these things to be rather childish. He loves his culture as well, and while he loves speaking of it, he does not indulge in being a braggart.

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
Killian, being 5'8", and 136 lbs., is rather tiny and skinny. He does not have much weight to him and as such, he is not very strong. Because of this, he is also not very healthy, per se. He eats like normal (except on days when hes researching) and exercises normally, but beyond that, his health is normal. However, due to his lithe form, Killian is fast on his feet and quick with his reflexes. Believing that running should be the only sport out there, he developed a love for it when he realized how relaxing it was to run and think. Also, due to his natural love of research, reading, and thinking, he is known to be smart and wise, but unfortunately, incredibly shy and shut in. He does not talk to people very much, if at all.

BIOGRAPHY:

Birth to Youngling

Killian was born on Jabiim, an Outer Rim world covered in torrential rain and electrical storms. Not a native of the muddy planet, his father and mother, both Iridonian Zabraks, moved to Killian early in their life for a job offer. The father, a strong and tested man, worked hard for the family and worked in a mining business. The mother worked in the local medical clinic and was beautiful as she was intelligent. Killian was born in the year of 989 ABY, and lived relatively well as an infant. Healthy as an ox, the boy grew fast and seemed to question the order of the world even as a baby.

However, his happiness would not last. In 991 ABY, when Killian was only two years old, his father was killed in an accident involving the Mining shafts. Now being raised by a single mother, who became increasingly depressed, Killian was oft neglected. However, his shining personality grew even as the world around him darkened. Happy as could be, the young boy was vastly intrigued with reading and began reading, at least at a small rate, at a very young age.

Unfortunately, the boys life would take a turn for the worse in 992 ABY. A three year old now, he was taken in by a family friend after his mother fell ill with Brainrot, which she contracted from constantly working with patients. Without both parents, the boy was presided over by one Ridden Todd. Ridden, a stout miner who knew the boys father, had great sympathy for the child and sook to get the child away from the planet as fast as possible.

As fate would have it, Jedi Knight Jak Kellrin had recently been sent by the Jedi Order. The Jabiimi Government had sent various calls for aid, all neglected for the longest time. The Order sent Jak, a renowned and powerful healer to help with the Brainrot. Encountering the Jedi, Ridden talked with Jak and was quick to give him the sullen child. Jak, after sensing the potential of Killian, took him from Jabiim and left the world after helping out as many as he could.

The next ten years would vastly change the young boy. Taken to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, he grew up in the vast city, which fascinated him incredibly. Taking a huge liking to spaceships and how they worked, Killian read various books on how craft worked and also was known to spectate the Jedi Hangar on a daily basis. Earning the nickname Joker from other classmates, Killian accumulated many friends, all who turned to him in order to brighten their days.

Eventually, at the age of 12, Killian received his Rite of Passage for being Iridonian. Naturally prideful of his heritage and race, he showed his markings off and told many of his classmates of his race and the people that stemmed from it. Some took this as bragging but Killian did not mean it in a bad way, only that he happy to a Zabrak. He was scolded by his Master for this, who told him that pride was good as long as it wasn't pushed onto others. All in all, Killian made for an excellent youngling and passed in Padawan naturally and easily.

A Simple Padawan Life

Killian started as a Padawan under the tutelage of Jak, as the two had grown a bond like a Father and Son. Jak taught Killian many things and trained Killian incredibly well, teaching him that the taint of the Dark Side was powerful but could be tamed through faith in the Force. Killian never truly knew why Jak was adamant against the Dark Side but he too grew to defend against it with a passion.

Killian accompanied his Master on several small missions, ranging from diplomatic to disputes. He was never put through any real danger and therefore did not train on his saber very much, focusing moreso on his ability to use the Force. His Master, a natural Jedi Healer, was proud of his choice to be a Jedi Healer, and showed this through natural and extensive training.

Killian was given his first taste of the seriousness of life when he was 15. A large civilian hovertrain malfunctioned and exploded, and several Jedi were sent to help those in need. The cause of the explosion was not known, but several hundred people were hurt or dead. Arriving on the scene with his Master, Killian was frightened by the grisly scene but took hold of his fear and began helping people quickly.

After the accident, his Master, feeling it was time for Killian to assemble his first real lightsaber, sat him down and talked him through the basic steps of assembling the elegant weapon. Sure enough, Killian completed the construction of the saber, after many tries and mistakes. Killian became ultimately proud of the saber, and became naturally attuned with it. Soon, the saber became his "Arm" as he put it.

Killian took a great interest in the Saber Style of Soresu at this time. Being able to combine his healing talents with a solid defensive saber form was a perfect combo in Killian's eyes. He quietly studied Soresu throughout his Padawan years and even now continues to study it.

Killian went through his Padawan year without a serious cause for problems. When he was 17, Killian and Jak were sent to Jabiim, to help the local populace with another outbreak of the Brainrot Plague. Killian was almost forbidden by Jak himself to go on the journey, as Jak was afraid that seeing the Plague firsthand could cause serious emotional effect in Killian. However, after serious conversation between the two, Jak decided that he would take Killian, to test his Padawan abilities and willpower.

While there, Killian saw and encountered terrible things. As a Healer, he stayed at the exact hospital that his mother once worked at. He tended to several thousand patients in the next two years. Dealing with death daily sobered the Padawan up to an extent, an action that his Master knew was difficult but necessary. It was also during this time that Killian met Ridden Todd, the man that saved his life as a small infant. Thanking him and speaking with him, he found out eventually that Ridden was infected and would soon die.

This caused great turmoil in Killian, as the idea of not being able to stop the death of a friend that he barely knew angered him greatly. Being a Jedi, he expected himself to be better at these things. However, Killian did not act this way long and let go of his hate, doing what he could for Ridden to give him a comfortable death for as long as he could. After Ridden died, Killian and Jak left several months later, to prepare Killian for his soon to come Knighting.

At the tender age of 21, Killian was finally ready to become a Knight. A few months would fly by soon and he would be ready to be a Knight, if he passed his trials of course. Jak believed that in order to surpass his trial, Killian and him should go back to Jabiim. Jak apparently had a trial set up for him there and was ready to fully see how his Padawan had progressed. Killian, excited as ever to fully become a Knight traveled close behind his Master.

The Survival

However, fate had other plans. After arriving on the small, torrential planet, the carrier that held Jak and Killian was hit by a anti-air missile. Crashing down near Choal, Killian woke from the crash to watch his Master and several Republic troopers being dragged away by reptilian creatures he had never encountered before. Pushing the debris off of him and tracking the Slavers barely after they escaped with several speeders, he was able to follow them back to Choal, where they had set up a temporary base.

Realizing that a complete attack on the base was foolish, Killian went about infiltrating the base quickly and then getting out as quickly as he got in. Successfully infiltrating the base, Killian trekked his way through the base until he found the prison quarters. The Republic Troopers were not found, but sure enough, Killian found Jak. Mortally wounded from the attack, and quickly bleeding out, Killian expended amazing amounts of power through the Force to heal his old friend and Master. However, being unable to do so, Killian went into a furious rage. Shrugging off his wounds, he tore through the Trandoshan Slave Den, killing any creatures that got in his way.

Realizing the torrential planet was only a source of pain for him, Killian took his Masters body after slaughtering the Trandoshans, and took a flight to Coruscant. Badly wounded and deeply scarred, the Padawan arrived at the Temple and collapsed from his pain. He had made it this far and was close to death.

After almost dying, the Jedi Order were able to heal Killian of his injuries. Killian informed the Council and Order of the events that transpired, but he took note to leave out the bit of rage towards the Trandoshans. Because of the great skill needed to escape the Slavers, Killian was not granted his Knight Status, but was instead told he would resume his training when a Master took him in. He attended the funeral of his former, silently vowing to himself that he would never lose another person closely attached to him again.

Whump Bump.

"This one still looks strong!"

"We haves a Jeedai!"

Bum Bump.

"Quickly, before the rain claims the wreckage!"

His eyes slowly opened. Like shutters to an old window, they "creaked" open and he winced to the small pain that shot through his body. He was torn. Beaten. Hurting beyond belief. His heart pounded in his chest. The young Jedi laid in the debris of the ship, a large piece of metal covering and ultimately pinning much of his body. His blood ran from his body, soaking the muddy, dirty ground nearby. An occasional spark would fly from the damaged ship, and illuminate the dark, murky wetland. The Jedi laid there for a few seconds longer, trying to soak up as much pain as he possibly could as he slowly lifted his head. His eyes scanned around the area, and he spotted them a few feet away.

Ugly reptilian creatures, with warty green skin, armed with small blaster rifles. There must of been about 8-10 of them, growling and yelling at one another. It was then that Killian saw it. His master, being dragged away from the wreckage. The rain, smacking Killian in the face, made it hard to see, so he moved his head quickly. The Slavers were moving farther from the crash site now and Killian spoke up. He tried to scream, tried to utter a word, but could not. His throat, hoarse and dry, could not form any words. Killian watched as they took his Father Figure away.

Pushing against the debris, as hard as he could, he only managed to barely budge the metal. Screaming, or at least gurgling as the torrential rain continued, Killian struggled. Eventually, he dropped back, gasping as his muscles screamed for aid. The small droplets of water pittered and pattered against the metal of the ship, and they struck Naghah in the face. Like bullets, each one became heavier as they hit him. Soon, he would black out. He couldn't. His Master was counting on him.

Killian pushed the debris yet again, grunting and wincing as his torn shoulders trembled against the large slab of metal. He was young and not physically strong, something he wished he had fixed long ago. Calling upon the Force for direct aid to him, he pushed again, finally pushing the large slab off of him. It slid to the side, and spattered into the mud/blood mix that had pooled around Killian's torn body. Laying down yet again, Killian took a deep breath. He pulled himself forward, and tried his best to get up. His legs, stunned from the sudden movement, gave out and Killian collapsed only a few feet from he once stood.

Killian slammed into the mud and grunted loudly. His throat burned and his looked down at his robes. His once brightly colored robes were torn and mottled with mud and dirt. It had burn marks on his arms and legs and he could've sworn his lungs were on fire. Almost crying at the pain of getting up Killian toiled and worked on standing, which he eventually did so with composure. Shaking his head, trying to rid his body of the pain, he calmed his breathing and imbued himself with the Unifying Force. He prayed that it would flow through him, and that he could save his Master from certain death.

Looking about the wreckage quickly, he scanned for his saber. Eventually, his eyes fell upon it, several feet away from him. Thrusting out his hand, the saber flew to it and he caught it, flipping it in his hand as he placed it in his belt. Looking towards where the beasts once were, Killian made his way, albeit slowly, to a foothill overlooking a large stretch of muddy desert. Far off, several speeders were moving towards the city of Chaol. Growling under his breath, Killian set off towards the Slavers.

He would not allow his Master to die.
