"I'm afraid, my dear friend," Juno remained calm through this, but knew it would stir the Sith Master into a frenzy, "That it is not power that I seek."

Moving slowly, her steps deliberate and off-cadence, so that no pattern could be formed or predicted by her movement, Juno asserted her grip upon her lightsaber, fingers meeting on the opposite side of the hilt and set herself to move gently towards the Sith Master before her. With each growing step, her action became more graceful, more effortless as the Force empowered her every muscle with strength and speed. By the time the Weapon Master was close enough, she stepped forward onto her left foot, spinning clockwise bringing her saber up to neck height. As she entered the spin, Juno began ducking down, extended her right elbow, and allowed the Force to accelerate her spin to phenomenal speeds.

If successful, Juno's elbow would collide with Ryak's already broken ribs, quickly followed up by Juno quickly standing up, forcing her back of her considerably thick, stubborn Corellian skull into his lower jaw or nose.

So this Jedi did seek some sort of power, or so it appeared from the way she spoke. And this fact could be used by Ryak. Maybe not now but at some point. For anytime someone desired something noble, innocent or even a small trinket that desire could be twisted and the individual sent down the path of the Darkside.

Ryak didn't have much time to think on it for the Jedi had now begun a strange advance toward him. It was graceful, yet full of purpose and speed. And then suddenly Juno was on him, using no weapons but her limbs. Had Ryak not be Force sensitive he probably wouldn't have been able to rotate fast enough. And as a result Juno's elbow would have crashed into his already broken ribs shattering them and sending the shards into his vital organs with disaterous effect. Ryak was however to rotate some and this meant more broken ribs as her elbow crashed into his previously undamaged side.

Ryak grimaced in pain but used that to fuel his energy as best he could. With the rotation and a slight slide of his form backwards he was able to avoid Juno's hard skull which could easily have led to a broken jaw if not broken neck. Reacting very quickly himself Ryak attempted to hook his left leg around Juno's right. He then yanked his leg back and gave Juno's torso a hard push to hopefully knock her off balance backwards.

Knowing her own dimensions and center of balance was one of Juno's most useful pieces of information at her disposal. When someone tried to throw her off balance, she knew, very early, how it would end up. In this particular case, Juno would simply let Ryak take her right leg from underneath her, but bend her left knee, allowing her center of gravity to be lower. When the shove came, which Juno admittedly wasn't expecting, she leaned forward placing her right fist onto the ground, and sharply turned her attention back to Ryak.

By the time Juno pushed off, with the aide of the Force, from the ground, her legs would have been aimed at Ryak's still undefended body. Her right leg would settle over his shoulder, and lock under his arm, and press against his stomach. Her left, however, would land on his chest, knee pressed hard against his larynx while her foot would rest around the lower right part of his rib cage.

The combined force of her hitting him in such a manner, and the hold in which Juno put the Sith Master, would carry her momentum over his head and backwards. Juno held her grip on the Twi'lek as her hands touched the permacrete floor of the temple, and extended her legs, aided with the Force, and hurled Ryak into a nearby pillar.

Ryak wasn't exactly sure what was happening to him. All he knew is that it was very painful and he was sure a couple more of his ribs cracked. The next thing he knew he slammed hard into a large pillar. Ryak slid down the side of his pillar but landed on his feet and quickly recovered. After taking only a fraction second to look around he saw what he was looking for. To his right was a very large statue of some ancient Jedi. With minimal effort Ryak sent in crashing between him and Juno. As the dust settled Ryak lept on top of the statue.

Ryak now had not only the high ground but around 3m of distance between himself and Juno. "You are truly foolish Jedi. And you shall not feel the power you so readily dismiss." As Ryak finished he sent a powerful blast of red Sith lightning straight toward the Jedi.

Juno reaffirmed her footing and frowned when the statue fell before her. By now, even her armour was unable to keep her body from showing the signs of battle as shown by a bead of sweat rolling down her face, making evident marks where the dust of the localised demolition of parts of the Temple had settled onto her usually soft, smooth skin. When Ryak emerged from the dust, Juno lightly hung her hands by her sides, lightsaber still loosely gripped in her left.

"You are truly foolish Jedi. And you shall not feel the power you so readily dismiss," and then came the surge of red lightning. Juno flourished her lightsaber up to defend herself, the plasma core, thankfully, absorbing the lightning strike intended to fry Juno alive.

In order to get the Sith Master to stop his pointless attack against her, Juno let her right hand roam to the small of her back where she wrapped her hand around the hilt of her lightwhip. A flourish of her wrist backwards saw the whip's metallic coils chink lightly against the permacrete. Knowing her whip well was what made Juno so notably dangerous with it. In the dusty, low light of the half-destroyed temple, Juno flourished the disengaged whip at Ryak, waiting until it was dangerously close to him before igniting it. As the guardian blue snake hissed its way along the emitter rope it's tip snapped as it broke the sound barrier aimed directly at the Twi'leks left thigh.

Ryak expected the blast of lightning to be blocked, especially given her skill with a lightsaber. What he didn't expect was the light whip that showed itself next. He had never gone up against someone with such a weapon before but he would have to do his best to defend against it. As the whip shot toward his leg and then ignited Ryak had mere seconds to move slightly to the right and bring down his lightsaber to execute the block.

The two light weapons sizzle as they connected. Ryak then stepped further to the right and thrust out his left hand. As his hand went out toward Juno a black spear shape formed in his palm. By the time he had extended his arm fully the Spear of Midnight Black left his hand and sped toward the Jedi's heart. The pure darkside energy would burn through the flesh of the Jedi if she were not quick enough to dodge it.

Juno grimaced as she seemingly fell to her back, the spear soaring uselessly over her body. As her back connected with the ground, Juno tucked her legs to her chest and rolled backwards over to her feet where she stood up again. Through out the course of the reverse somersault, Juno had subtly hung her chrome hilted lightsaber back to her belt, and her left hand had pulled the long, matte-black hilt from her thigh.

Once she was righted, she eyed the Sith Master precariously, and thumbed the ignition on the hilt, surging the purple blade into life. Much longer than that of a usual lightsaber, the blade also seemed thicker - this was a big weapon, and anyone would do well to be weary of it. Juno frowned as she rolled it in her hand, flourishing the whip gently across the floor.

A gentle flick of her wrist saw the whip's body move slowly and wide around the twi'lek opposing her. When it was nearing its full length, Juno flicked her wrist inwards sharply. The blue tip of the lightwhip obeyed its user, and darted in towards Ryak, sharply aimed at the back of his legs.

Ryak watched as the Jedi gracefully dodged the spear of darkside energy and switched weapons to a long handled lightsaber. Ryak prepared himself to guard against an attack by Juno and he saw the whip coming. However his inexperience in dealing with the whip left him unable to block it effectively. When Juno flicked her wrist it sent the tip of the whip back towards its user, catching the rear of Ryak's left thigh on its way. As the whip struck and tore out the a sizeable chunk of Ryak's thigh he roared in pain.

There was no blood because of the cauterization but the pain from the injury was severe and many would have passed out from it but the adrenaline from the battle and Ryak's ability to turn the pain inwardly to fuel his passions and the darkside within him, kept him from suffering such a fate. Ryak, now filled with an extra burst of darkside energy thrust out his left hand and left flight another blast of red lighting. This blast however was different then the previous one. Ryak had just let loose Force shock. A powerful, short, and concentrated form of Force Lightning. If it struck the Jed it could easily kill her and if it didn't the burns that resulted would be excoriatingly painful.

Juno darted, with Force-assisted speed, behind one of the two-meter diameter columns that supported the roof of the ceiling, shielding herself from the electrical onslaught from the Sith Master. Grumbling as she blew her jet black hair out of her eyes, the Jedi Master poked her head around the corner of the pillar, and took note that her whip had done its job well. Satisfied that her last attack would have sorted out the Twi'lek and given him a distinct disadvantage, Juno set herself to another attack, this time allowing the whip to fall under her telekinetic control. Without moving her wrist, the guardian-blue body of the weapon slithered like a snake, reasserting itself between the two.

Emerging behind the whip, Juno suddenly darted her eyes towards her right, slashing clean through the pillar next to her. In one swift motion, she alternated her grip on the long-handled lightsaber into a reverse handhold, lifted it up to the pillar, and engulfed it in Force energy. The resulting action was impressive, to say the least. The entire pillar's base snapped off, hovering momentarily, before rocketing towards Ryak like a large, permacrete spear.

The Jedi was quick and Ryak knew he would have to catch her when she was vulnerable in order to get a proper hit on her. Ryak was quite impressed with her skill in lightsaber maneuvering skills. Ryak however was able to show off his on skills. As the column was lifted off the ground Ryak's hooked his lightsaber onto his belt via the force and stretch out both of his arms and grasped the large column stopping it in mid air. He then rotated it 90 degrees. Who was this Jedi to think she could simply throw a column at a master of the Force such as himself.

Ryak without hesitating through the column back at the Jedi, keeping his Force grip on it the entire time. He made sure to throw it low and the fact that it was horizontal, left only one direction for Juno to dodge and that was up. And Jump Juno did, with the same graceful dancer style she had fought with the entire battle. This however was a potential fatal mistake, for now she was vulnerable and right where Ryak wanted her.

While she was still in mid-air Ryak released his grip on the column, which slammed into the far wall and left a gaping hole through which bright daylight flooded. Ryak then thrust out his right hand. The green strands of Odojinya shot through the air and wrapped themselves around the Jedi Master's form, which was still in mid-air. The green strands would burn with painful results. Ryak then with the help of force grip threw Juno into a nearby column, her left side slamming hard into the cold stone. Ryak could hear the crunching of bone as he released Odojinya.

The web caught the Corellian completely unawares. It's green tendrils wrapped around her forced a squeal of pain from her mouth, but grew quieter the longer she was in the hold of the web that held her in place. By the time Ryak had thrown her into the wall, Juno was barely aware of what was happening. The pain upon her collision, however, did wake her up. Smashing into the rock wall, her left side of her body bounced hopelessly off the solid surface. Regrettably, the Jedi Master's long-handled lightsaber collided with the wall and bounced off amongst the rubble. Her hand now free, she foolishly extending her left arm to grab onto a handhold on the wall, a decision which Juno regretted the instant the window fell onto her. The stone frame collided with her shoulder, removing it from its socket, whereas the glass window had shattered and rained down on Juno, littering her bare face and neck with scratches a plenty.

When her dislocated shoulder finally forced her to release her grip, she fell and landed, painfully, on her left side again, breaking her third rib, and what felt like a cracked jaw.

Feeling every injury that plagued her, Juno struggled to stand upright. Blood running down her face, open cuts painting her usually smooth, graceful complexion, Juno grimaced as she took a moment to look around the Tythonian Temple. Once a beacon of culture and history, now it's entire foyer had been demolished over a grudge match which she knew she could not win -- not after the injuries she had just suffered. Juno's attention quickly fell back to the red-skinned twi'lek standing atop the rubble. Whip still in hand, Juno dove into the Force and surged a wave of energy towards the twi'lek, kicking up dust, rubble and anything else that dare lay between them.

With the cloud of dust and debris now on its way to Ryak, Juno called upon the Force for the last time, knowingly sacrificing her long-handled lightsaber to its fate, and surged from the Temple's foyer through the hole that now existed in it's once well-constructed wall.

Ryak watched, a grim smile crossing his face as the Jedi Master's vain attempt at trying to prevent further injury to herself. Every crunch of bone and drop of blood pleased Ryak greatly as he knew that he would soon end Juno's pathetic existence. But to his surprise the Jedi still had something left in her. However her last attempt although admirable was futile. Ryak threw up a Force shield around himself which protected him from the brunt of the dust and debris. The remaining statues and other sculptures did not fair as well as Ryak though and where destroyed or damaged beyond recognition. The irony of the Jedi destroy some of what she tried so hard to protect.

After the dust had cleared Ryak noticed the Jedi had fled like the coward she was. Ryak moved slowly forward and jumped off the statue. Upon landing he grimaced as his left leg went out from under him and a sharp pain shot through his entire body; reminding him of the deep gash. Ryak began to walk through the rubble, a limp growing more noticeable as the adrenaline of battle wore off. Suddenly something of a different sheen from the stone dust an rubble caught Ryak's eye. He looked down to see the matte black long handled lightsaber used by Juno. He bent down and picked it up weighing it his hand. Considering his limp Ryak already had plans for the weapon he would now take as his trophy.

Ryak limped out of the temple's now ruined atrium. As he came out into the light Imperial soldier flooded in, with all resistance in the area having been taken care of. Another smile crossed Ryak's face. Soon the Jedi's homeworld and beacon of hope would no longer be so. It would soon belonged to the Sith and also the darkside. The Sith would win and the Galaxy would be there's for the taking.

Burning Inferno

2009-11-09-Burning-Village.jpg

Ever since the first schism of the Jedi, when the darkside was discovered and the ideals of the Sith born, light and dark clashed. Although it always seemed that the Sith struggled to take over the galaxy they managed to do so a number of times. However for what ever reason previous generation of darksiders could not wipe the Jedi completely from the galaxy...That was about to change. The Sith would soon take Coruscant, but that would be nothing compared to the significance of the Sith devastating Tython. That destruction would begin with Ryak.

Ryak looked upon the temple of the Jedi, from a considerable distance. He looked down as his comm buzzed. "My Lord, there are no artifacts left within the temple, it appears as if the Jedi cleared it out." "Very well. Pull your men out." "Yes My Lord." Ryak watched and waited for the Commander to let him know his men were clear. At that point he would give the order to have the bombers standing by make their run. They would fly low and drop a variety of explosives that would not only reduce the temple to rubble but also engulf it in a burning inferno.

It wasn't long before Ryak's comm buzzed again. Ryak didn't need to answer it to know what the message was. He merely commed a different frequency and gave the order. Within seconds a roar was heard as the bombers soared overhead. Ryak watched as the bombers released their payloads with devastating effect. The explosions from the blasts shook the ground as huge pieces of the temple were thrown hundreds of feet into the air. Even from his distance Ryak could feel the heat from the fires that now spread to the forest surrounding the temple ruins.

Ryak stood there watching the flames lick the ruins of the temple. The whole time contemplating what this meant for the Sith and Imperium. The Jedi would not be gone for good and that was certain. Nor would they be easy to track down and destroy, but it could be done. That was now what they Sith needed to focus on...hunting down and annihilating the Jedi. Ryak wouldn't stop searching for the arcane secrets from the depths of the Galaxy, but he now had a new responsibility, a responsibility to rid the Galaxy of the Jedi. With that Ryak turned and limped back to his shuttle behind him, which soon took him back to a waiting starship.
