I did that with Thaed for a bit as I started him off with a saberstaff, and I personally found it tedious. Comes down to patience I guess. :P

/shrug

You could also use it solely for the purpose of an opening gambit. Get a surprise kill off that saves you the hassle of a real fight.

Yeah against an NPC. Try that without the other person calling in half the admin team :P

Hey, it's only a problem if they're stupid about it.

Which is the case 99.9% of the time and you know it :CStern

...maybe. Even then, what is an admin going to say? lol

"You can't ignite your saber in the other guy's chest because he doesn't know how to deal with it properly?"

Sometimes they try to "suggest" it.

Also what's all this bullshit about Juyo being the form for saberstaffs, etc? There's more hearsay going on in this thread than a sewing circle...

Now now, you can't say something like that without providing an alternative. :P

The main reason I plan on having my character use a saber staff is because Jedi temple guards usually use saber staffs so it makes sense story wise, but if it's really that difficult, I'll just make him use a single saber.

Don't worry about it. Story reasons are fine, and should be the driving force behind your character in most situations. However, if you ever get into a duel, I'd advise against activating both ends simultaneously; that was pretty much the gist of the above discussion. Simple, right?
