Oh yes those parts of star wars' physics make sense. However EVERYTHING ELSE does not. Mobile life support suits, triple amputee with third degree burns actually surviving on liquid meals, plasma swords, and the force. It doesn't make any sense. Some parts do, most do not.

Edit: Correction, we do understand how all of it is done, it is just not possible.

Most of what you just cited isn't physics, rather, they are technological and medical flaws. In fact, calling them 'flaws' isn't really fair, because real world technology could theoretically advance far enough to enable the creation of mobile life support suits, and medical technology could easily enable a triple amputee with third degree burns to survive. Plasma swords are actually physically possible, we just have no power supplies, materials, or magnetic field generators currently up to the task of generating and containing a plasma blade of useful size for any practical length of time.

As for the Force and the FTL drives in Star Wars, now that's just plain silly.

Well technology then. However the force will never exist.

Edit: I have looked up, the closest thing they can make is the size of a 10 - 20 story building and it won't be able to stop going on FOREVER.

Also Keinushi, most likely not in our lifetimes... Figuring out how to make a moon sized space station converge its light into one beam on their own isn't something that's going to be discovered in the next century. Unless you have the super power to bend and control light.

Yes it will. Through SCIENCE. :CStern

EDIT:

You should reread what I said. The technology to create and contain a plasma blade of useful size doesn't exist yet. It's not impossible, it's just not feasible with today's technology.

If someone bothers to research and spend millions trying to make it come about.

But I digress.

It should be noted that star wars physics is difficult to explain with reference to our real physics as much of what is needed to explain it correctly isn't know/doesn't even exist.

Red is a fun color.

You know Jiang this only reminds me of something. Are you gay? I was looking over some things and there has been a few... suggestions.

Also I like aqua blue. I'm thinking about making a second Jedi who has an aqua blue lightsaber! I am gonna go plan it out.

I find this offensive. What's wrong with being gay?

The shots arent plasma for blasters though, they are particles of beam energy. Like a broken up laser. And the saber in question can still do ice damage. Aloong with fire damage which is still separate from your energy damage.

You said it, not me. I just said a few... suggestions and asked if he was gay? If I asked a guy if he was straight and that there have been a "few... suggestions" would it be offensive then? That's a double standard. Like everybody loves pot brownies... but I bring crystal meth cupcakes to a party, now I'm the weirdo.

not possible yet. ever noticed the star wars universe doesn't contain the internet? we've already surpassed star wars technology in some ways.

That's not true. Yes, it doesn't have the internet, but that's because the internet is far too simplistic for the GFFA. They have the HoloNet.

and to add on, the holonet is not just the advanced subspace web, Holonet is all things informational, from " radio" Tv, web, communication relays, I mean... its pretty much all encompassing.

okay enough, back to lightsabers.

I always thought the holonet was purely television. as I have never read the line, "I shall look that up on the holonet" but I have read the line countless time "He sat there, watching the holonet." So I always assumed the holonet was basically CNN, an all news channel. Also I have read the line "He travelled to the library/archive" several times as well. everything is done in person, except for basic over arching news.

Even then, when someone goes to a library, they're not going to get books. The most we've seen of an archive/library, at least in terms of the films, is the Jedi Archive, and that's about a bagillion times more advanced than the internet.

Without meaning to break up this conversation, we should probably get back to lightsabers. I wonder, when were lightwhips invented?
