Tyrus continued backing up, circling around the clearing to avoid walking into any trees. He caught the strikes directed at him near the end of her blade, so as to increase the force she had to apply. He focused only on defense, blocking attacks with whichever blade was less awkward, or both if necessary, and trapped Ayva's lightsaber where possible to buy himself extra time.
Nearer to the end, when the strikes were more powerful, Tyrus focused more on evasion, leaping back or to one side to avoid the incoming strikes. He blocked with both blades, but only when he was forced to.
