Mandos? They're still a thing right?

OK! So there is no doubt in my mind that there is probably a thread like this somewhere already taking place on this forum; but since I have very little time to actually sit down at my laptop I figured it'd be safe to just make a little thread inquiry of my own.


I don't plan on making a Mando right away but the next character I do make--well--I'd like her to be that. I see that there is an independent faction for them but I guess I am curious how active Mandalorian characters are on the site. Since I've kept to the Jedi side of things mostly and my character isn't exactly up for eeking out super strong bad-asses of a Jedi detesting nature. She's a little isolated. I haven't been checking all the Story Threads. I am garbage.

ANYWAY--


I kinda want to know how many Mando's we got and how active they are on this forum, cause of course I love them and I am a big SW fan stereotype and I WANT ONE OK!?

...Ahem...That being said I guess I just want to dip a litmus test into this water to see how often I'd get to interact with Mando's. Or if I'm even up to snuff to BE one.


I has this idea, and a half formed character sheet I am coveting. And it'd be nice to have an active discussion thread going while I'm on the road :3

We are very much still around, even if we are a very vocal minority. The Indie Mando's are undergoing a bit of a revamp since activity has sort of lagged over the last few months, but there are several active Mando characters/writers working for the Rebellion. We can always use more!

Mando's are still strong, if a little bit underground (They're not the most popular of races now, I don't think I need to tell you why). That being said, we do have some Indie Mando's flying around and doing whatever they want, and not saying that's not good, but if you're a true hardborn mando warrior, you should pick up your weapon and fight the Imperium for vengeance of your home land! Nah. Don't do that, just do whatever the heck you want, so long as you comply to the Resonare, you should be fine. I mean, my Mando's working for the Commonwealth because that's what he does best; be a meatshield.

As Loco and Tristar said, there's definetly some Mandos still out there, usually either Rebels or Indie. The SWRP Mando's have had a rough history, so they've kinda scattered. Aside from reading up on the site's Mando history, I'd highly recommend looking into their culture. Be warned, there's a lot of different interpretations out there. Here is a nice article I found that helped me make my Mando. Overall, just have fun with it. You'll be surprised at just how many ways there are to making a Mando PC.

Ah! I see! Well I'll definitely need to read up on our Mando history here before I start putting in history and skills! But it's good to see they're still around.

I am a very tiny baby when it comes to canon Mando knowledge as well as just---Who are mandos? Is it Cassus Fett? Is it Jango? Then I don't even know. I've got a lot of reading to do, and just from casually looking through threads I've noticed people are very opinionated and particular about what makes a Mando and what is considered a poorly written one. More so than the other factions I think.

Makes sense; a little scared, not gonna give up!

Think Space Vikings; nomadic warriors who value family and war to test their limits. Honestly the entire concept of them being space spartans is a little wrong imho. Space Vikings.

Wookieepedia is my close companion these past few weeks and I consult it readily~ Also, as I have had a viking character back in the youth of my RP years--Maybe I'll make on OK Mando??

There are a few of us active who actually enjoy RPing Mandos and I'm sure we'd all be willing to give your character some Mando interaction. :)

Raleigh is the son of a mandalorian and has been slowly reaching out to his heritage, should be fun XD Insolent and I seem to be some of the few people if not the only people with mando jedi.

Ok! Posting from the phone! I actually was hoping that some of you pure Mando character-havers would help me beta read and go over my Mando history and what not when I get a first draft written.

I am open to most changes and want to learn! Anyone interested in being my temp Mando-mom for the sake of making this character sheet as awesome as I can get it?
