MANDALORE
1700 Hours

[/fancybox2]

"I think I'm going to puke!"

Today was the long awaited day. Corrine Eldar was going to be married into House Solus, to a man she'd known for two years now: @Arturo Solus . He'd been a good friend, a strong rock to which to hold her down, and a faithful partner. After the death of her first husband, and even before then honestly, Arturo had looked out for the red headed Mandalorian. The whole group of their mercenary team looked out for one another, but Corrine never thought twice about the way Arturo looked at her. And actually looked at her. Now everything had made sense.

When Corrine first heard news of Malagith's passing, she was distraught. She was absolutely destroyed inside. She'd lost her father, and now she was losing her husband. It was common in Mandalorian culture for husbands and wives to pass away in battle, but it didn't mean it didn't hurt any less. By coincidence, Arturo had been there at the time and was there to lend a caring shoulder to the Mandalorian daughter who felt lost and empty inside. The world felt like it was overtaking her, like she was drowning and couldn't remember how to swim. That's what it felt like when her father took his own live, and now she remembered the same pain she'd tried so hard to forget.

At first, nothing came of her new found connection to the Mandalorian son. He was a kind friend who helped her get back on her feet. He was an open ear when she needed to cry and sob to someone about her loss. And mostly, he was a warm embrace waiting to hold her whenever she needed someone to help her from falling. She'd thank him, giving him small kisses her and there to express her gratitude, but it wasn't until she took a ride with him to Kessel and she thought he died in battle that her feelings about him really blossomed.

Corrine was beside herself once more thinking about how she couldn't lose another male figure in her life. She cried angry tears and pounded on his chest while she confessed her desperation and hatred of Destiny that kept taking her loved ones away from her. And then she kissed him. Really kissed him. And to her surprise, he kissed her back. And said the most heart-warming thing she could ever hear. He told her that he'd always be there to watch her back.

And the little brat that she was asked him the question to sum everything up. She asked him to marry her, so that they could protect each other always. They should have gotten married right then and there. But Corrine wanted to wait until she returned to Nar Shaddaa and caught back up with Dio and the gang. That was a mistake. Now she was being forced to wait even longer as phone calls were made and excitement brewed until the entirety of Clan Solus -and then some- were planning on attending. What was supposed to be a simple profession of vows was now turning into a grand spectacle and an even larger after-party. That's what she suspected people were really here for.

Even still, she felt sick. She was waiting in the back room getting ready with her mother, two elder sisters, and a few other female Mandalorian's she'd only met on occasion (@Sreeya ). The bridal party was busier than Alderaan bees trying to make Corrine the most beautiful bride ever. Her red hair was done up in braids that formed a crown on her head. Her eyes were dusted in reds and golds giving her eyelashes elegant wings. They'd even gone so far as to decorate her helmet with a crown of red, gold, and white flowers all tied together with black ribbon.

Her armor though, thankfully didn't get much in the way of changes. There'd been talk of someone painting the entirety of her plates white. Corrine nearly went as white as a sheet thinking about it. At most, the party of beauticians only added a sash like a skirt which fell behind her butt and in front of her torso, and then a long cape that reminded Corrine of wings. It was white fabric, symbolizing a new life, and shimmered with blue tones in the right lighting. They'd even gone so far as to wash it all down and give it a good cleaning so she was sure to sparkle when she would proceed into the adjacent room.

And Corrine hated it! She hated being frilly. She'd spent her life making sure people called her "Cory" and not Corrine because she wanted to be treated and respected like "one of the guys." It wasn't a secret that Corrine grew up a tomb-boy, and even now she was dying inside trying to fight the urge to tear off the makeup, throw on a hat, and join her brothers at the bar for a stiff drink. Sheesh this was annoying!

"I mean it! I'm going to puke!" she'd say to the girl now applying yet another layer of foundation to her cheeks.

No one paid her any mind. She was going to get married today and say her vows to her new lover and then be welcomed into the Clan Solus with open arms, loud music, and lots and lots of drinks. She just had to finish getting ready and then'd she'd go to meet the boys in the main hall before the lot of them would head outside to where the party would be. The ceremony would be quick, and she expected everyone to be itching to head outside into the cool Mandalor air where they could party until the sun came up the next morning. Corrine felt like everyone just had a party, what with the Hutta Revolution. But this was no longer her choice. It was her wedding, and she had no say in the matter. How annoying.

Percy squinted. “I’m sorry, but honestly, I can’t read that.

Her head tilted back to examine the tiny lettering. The armored man beside her grunted. “It says ‘Badger 4 Life’ —it’s literally clear as day.” Persephone shrugged as stepped back from the tattoo on the man’s arm. “But what does a number have to do with it?” She asked, scratching her head. “Oh, forget it.” The Mandalorian groaned and marched away, done with the young woman’s nonsense.

Some Mandalorians had not been so receptive since she arrived from Nar Shaddaa, freed out of prison thanks to the efforts of Drace Solus. While she was welcomed into House Solus since then, others still saw her as an outsider. A nobody. Which, for the most part, was true. Not that Percy cared. She came to the wedding only for the cake. That, and to gawk at all of the men and women gathered.

For the better part of her childhood, Persephone’s personal ambitions were no more different than any other precious girl— she wanted to be a throat-slitting, sucker-punching Mandalorian scumbag. And at last, that dream was hers. Fully armored, decked with new blasters and pants stuffed with polished knives, Percy was ready to take on the galaxy. But she supposed she could wait, if only to see this union between Corrine Eldar and Arturo Solus.

Drace wasn't one to pre-game, but he was a little guilty, just this time. He'd seen how the last party had panned out, and noticed that despite the amount of alcohol that had been circulating that night, he had not drank as much as he usually did, instead preoccupied with fighting and whatnot. So, today he took the proper precautions by slamming two shots before he left, just to loosen himself up a bit.

He'd recently painted his armor red with gold accents, right after the "mission" on Coruscant. This was the first time he showed his face at an event since he'd helped blow up the palace, and Drace would be lying if he said he wasn't looking forward to see what people had to say. Probably nothing. Cuyan had made sure to slap the Death Watch logo on every aspect of the broadcast, even though Drace had made it clear that he wasn't properly representing the Mandalorians as a whole. Then again, what did it fekking matter? They'd blown up the damn Palace. Cuyan could have made everyone in the room strip down to their socks and shoot the broadcast like that, and Drace would have complied.

Just like the white on his armor had been symbolic, so was the red. It represented the colors of Clan Solus, but also of honor, and the gold accents represented vengeance, something Drace fought for every day. He'd laid his life on the line for vengeance every time he could, and he would continue to until he kicked the bucket doing it. Just like everyone else in the room would, he was sure.

Drace was one of the first arrivals to the wedding, and had found that the only person he recognized in the chamber was Percy. A sly smile climbed up his lips as he entered the room, Dinii at his feet. The Marauder walked directly up to Percy, taking his time as he did so, then stopped next to her, hands at his sides.

"I can somehow see you gawking, and I can't even see your face." It came out somewhat teasingly, though it's not like it wasn't true. Percy couldn't have been more obvious in her extreme people-watching.

Varus sat towards the back. It wasn't that he didn't care about weddings, but he didn't particularly know those getting married. However, these things were clan affairs and when he was given the chance to get off of Nar Shaddaa for a short time, he jumped at it.

Varus' wolf, Ciri, was also with him. He had been away from the beast for far too long so he thought she would be fine to tag along and no one had said he couldn't bring a wolf, so he did. She lad curled in a mound of fur by his feet, asleep as soon as they had sat down. He didn't blame her, he was early and so far had spotted know he actually knew. At least Mandalorian weddings always had a copious amount of alcohol.

"Not the vacation I had in mind, Ciri." he mumbled to the wolf who briefly looked up at him and huffed out a breath before settling back down. "Yeah Yeah...I owe you one." he said, reaching down and scratching behind her large ear.

He shifted in his armor, helmet sitting beside him, as he scanned the room for anything he recognized.

Why was he here again? Was he even invited?

But more importantly... why did Dane care enough to show up here? Perhaps it was due to his need to get out more often. Maybe it's because House Solus was among the most prolific of the clans at this current point in time, and as his own was hardly known in any way, any connection to them was a good connection. He'd even tossed around the idea of trying to convince the Alor of his own clan to join and become a bannerman to the Solus clan, as some others had done in days past. It was something he would need to bring up at a later time, however, as the bride to be and her groom seemed to be the main spectacle of the evening. He had left the majority of his weapons behind, including his greatsword, as a show of respect. Dane was a practitioner of Teras Kasi, and was never truly unarmed, therefore he was hardly concerned about his lack of armaments.

His beskar'gam had been polished for the occasion, the gold and white armor gleaming as though freshly crafted, if not for the minimal dents, blaster scoring, and slash marks. Salem, his dark coated feline companion, was right beside him as she always was, pawing at the ground and looking around at the gathering of people with a glinting wonder in her eyes. The Asharl Panther seemed to be on her best behavior today, which was no surprise considering he had spent the past hour lecturing her about what they were attending. Dane had no clue how he'd actually managed to correctly relay the information, but the results clearly spoke for themselves. He had found a seat at a table nearby, and found himself sifting through his utility belt, only to pull out a small bag of powder and flick it twice with his fingers.

He placed the bag down, collected a small amount of the powder and placed it on the table. Using a spare piece of beskar he kept on him for luck, he split the powder down the middle and separated them into two lines. Following that was a small piece of paper that he rolled into a cylinder and leaned down, placing his nose against the end and inhaling hard. Once the first line was done, his pupils immediately dilated and he began to feel the familiar sensation wash over him. The second came close after, inhaling yet another line with a single motion and leaning back on the edge of his seat with a sigh. Oh, that was the kark.

Raz had never been part of a wedding before, though she had attended a few here and there as a child. Mandalorian weddings were usually very low key, with the main focus being the rambunctious party afterwards. Raz knew that would be no different here today, and she was looking forward to it. She was surprised when Corinne had asked her to join her on her special day and to be a part of the select few women that would be a part of the ceremony. Raz had agreed at once, though she wasn’t entirely sure what to do. In some ways she was quite nervous herself.

She watched silently as Corinne had her hair and makeup done, smiling at the woman. Corinne looked absolutely stunning, and Raz couldn’t be happier for her. Raz was dressed in her traditional Beskar’gam, though her helmet was set aside for now. She had even decided to tie her hair back elegantly into a braid. As Corinne said she was going to vomit, Raz stepped up and placed a reassuring hand on her back gently, “Breathe,” She said quietly, “Arturo loves you. He’s a Badger, and he will always be fiercely loyal to you,” Raz grinned, “We’re stubbornly loyal to those we love.”

She was thrilled at the prospect of gaining another Solus, “Besides, if you need to vomit, I can go find Cuyan’s helmet,” (@Cazar) Raz chuckled, pulling Corinne into a side hug as she turned the woman to look into the mirror, “You look perfect,” She said, hoping Corinne would be able to shake off the nerves.

Some of the other ladies came in and indicated that it was time to get moving. Raz stepped back from Corinne, picking up her helmet and fastening it to her hip, “Come on, no time to puke or panic anymore. Let’s go.”

Dax managed to walk into the quickly growing crowd without missing a step. Like his Solus partner in war, the Rau marauder had a few drinks on the way into and even had a beer in hand. Taking a pull from the bottle as he glanced around the group. He noticed his friend across the way, chatting up a woman, judging by the chest plate of her armor. The rest were members of the House he'd yet to meet but hoped by the nights end that would change.

Dax had on his freshly cleaned and polished white and red Beskar'gam. The symbol of clan Rau on his right shoulder plate, and on his left. The mark of the Watch. Freshly painted on after his part in the mission that destroyed the palace, and thousands along side it. IF the gods were good the man child Elix would be among the dead but Dax wouldn't hold his breath. He placed the empty bottle on a nearby table and replaced his helmet over his head.

"Drace you sorry sack of Rancor shit, are you going to introduce me to your lady ?"

Leandros sat in the front row with a bottle in his hand, having been drinking for quite a bit now. He had never been to a wedding, much less been invited as a guest of honor. That was pretty neat, he figured, though he did not know what it meant aside from getting front row seating. He was surprised that there was even a big hubbub about this, but, then again, it was not his wedding. Proud of Arturo for landing a wife, the veteran Mandalorian made an internal promise to get the groom absolutely wasted following the ceremony; it was only fitting. Mandalorians knew how to party, and a momentous occasion like this called for one hell of a party.

He knew both the bride and the groom, having worked with the former and was a clan mate with the latter. Arturo was a good man; reliable, strong, hell of a shot. He was surprised that he was the first in the clan to marry, aside from Dio, but he was proud, nonetheless. Corrine he had worked with once before on Contruum, a long time ago, but she seemed the dependable sort. He hoped Arturo would not become one of those weird stay-at-home husbands now that he had gotten married, but that was unlikely.

Leandros did not have much to prepare for the wedding aside from cleaning his armor up a bit, buffing out any major scuffs and painting back over places where the bare metal poked through. His helmet sat on his lap, comfortable with showing his face around his people. He took another sip of the drink, wondering when the ceremony would start so that they could all go outside in the pleasant Mandalore weather and get rowdy. Was it tacky to be drinking before the ceremony already began? Eh, probably not. Not like anyone was going to stop him.

"You reckon the Imps will show up? Glass us while we all enjoy a brew or two?"
Arturo asked Dio, grinning as he looked out over the heads of those gathered in the hall. The room was spacious, tall and wide and able to seat nearly four dozen guests, not taking into account those that would stand. Arturo was surprised to find that most of the seats were already occupied, some by familiar faces, others by strangers he didn't know. Not that he minded; the ceremony and subsequent after-party were open to all who shared the same traditions and culture as he. Clan or not, they were welcome. Even if most of them are here to empty the kegs before I do. He smirked, happy and at home in a growing sea of his brothers and sisters, trying to hide the building nerves behind a veil of icy-calm confidence. He knew his best man saw right through him though; it was probably the reason he'd given Dio that duty in the first place.

Sending a salute in Field Marshal Leandros's (@Painus) direction, Arturo waited, the seconds dragging by, twisting the knife of impatience deeper. He noticed, almost absentmindedly, that he was drumming his foot against the floor to the tune of a half-remembered song; that nervous tic died as he stared out through the open doors at the back of the hall, memory of the past few days- no, weeks!- coming back to him in the blink of an eye. After their successful mission on Kessel, Cory and he had returned to Nar Shaddaa, and from there... well, things had become blurred, fast. Clarity had surrendered to chaos as the preparations had begun. And since then it had been nonstop: Messages had been sent, invitations posted, a venue picked and orders made. The idea had always been to host it on Mandalor; it would've been wrong not to.

Yeah... When Arturo had contact the caterers, he had asked for enough food and drink to feed an army. He hadn't been disappointed. They had done their job well, too well, if you asked him, though, he noted they didn't. The food and drink waited outside under cover, and on his way in Arturo had been forced to appoint a guard of a dozen warriors, warriors with strict orders to kick the kark out of any guest -excepting the Mand'alor, of course- feeling peckish. They would stay until the ceremony began. Afterwards, they could always join the party. Arturo wouldn't stop them.

He snapped out of his reminiscing as a group of Solus warriors filed into the back of the hall, the group armed and armored, as was their way. Arturo couldn't help but smile at his fellow Badgers, grateful that many of them had taken the time out of their day to be here. The day was destined to be an interesting one, he knew. Once the alcohol started flowing, and the guests started stuffing their faces with food, it wouldn't be long before the first fights broke out. He knew of the dangerous mix weapons and alcohol made; it was often a deadly concoction, and Arturo wondered who here would survive to see tomorrow. It won't be that bad, surely, he thought, pondering who amongst them was liable to be hedging bets.

He forgot all about that as his thoughts drifted to Cory. She was the one they were all here to see, the one he loved more than his home world and, perhaps, his House combined. He loved them too, of course, but... Cory meant a whole lot more to him than he was willing to admit, and he hoped that she wouldn't be disappointed. They had fought together, bled together, formed a bond stronger than Beskar. It wouldn't be sundered easily; the ceremony, the after-party, were all to reaffirm that bond before the eyes of others. People they cared about, and respected.

Arturo's foot began drumming away again as they waited for the bride and her entourage. Adorned fully in his Beskar'gam which shared the colors of his clan, and was accented white to symbolize the dawn of something new, he began counting, trying to find a way to pass the time. He was too nervous to talk, too worked up in the knowledge that today was 'the day'. The long awaited day he had hoped for and dreaded in equal measure.

The day he got married...

In all honesty Radth felt a little out of place. He had never been to a wedding before. Now that does not mean he was going to turn down the invitation. That would have been wrong of him to do. Besides it may be a fun experience, so why pass it up? So the warrior took the time to fix up his armor and make it look like new again, painting over where the metal was exposed, beating out the dents. He took a bit of extra time to buff out all marks and polish up at bit. Since it is a formal event the man made sure to pay close attention to every detail of his armor.

Now present at the location of the wedding, the Kelborn did start to feel a bit out of place. Not being very social sinceto him being a soldier comes before his social life. One could say that he is a bit rusty. From what he could gather right here and now, Radth is the only one of his clan currently present. The thought made him laugh a bit, a wolf among badgers, was the thought that came across his mind.

Radth made sure to salute Field Marshal Leandros as the warrior strolled over to his seat. Radth does not have a drink in his hands, not yet at least. He figured that should wait until after the ceremony. Taking a seat, he placed his helmet on his left thigh with his arm resting on it. His other arm rested on the back of his chair as the man looked around a bit seeing if he will recognize anyone.

Corrine could not be more excited that the Mand'alor was attending her wedding. This was truly an honor and a blessing. The strongest of all the Mandalorian brothers and sisters, and she was her Maid of Honor. Corrine would have been intimidated by her presence there had she not already been nervous enough with the sheer amount of people about to be paying attention to just her. Raz came over and would put a gentle hand on her back. She soothed the girl, reminding her that she was loved. And Arturo would be loyal to her. That wasn't exactly what she was worried about.

She was about to open her mouth and reply when Raz then added where she might try vomiting if she really need. Corrine giggled and shook her head. "Now that would start a brawl in her for sure. Let's not get them riled up preemptive." Raz would then add in that she looked perfect as the two women looked into the mirror, causing the redhead to make a gross face like she'd tasted some stewed cabbage.

"Yeah. It's sickening. I look like...like...blech!" she couldn't find a perfect word so she just made another disgusted noise.

Groaning she would stand up and her mother would hand her the decorated helmet. "You look wonderful, Cory. I'm so happy for you."

Rolling her eyes she'd reply sarcastically, "Yeah yeah. Thanks, ma. Let's just get this over with."

Corrine would pull the helmet over her head and let it click into the chest armor. A quick hiss let her know it was connected and the H.U.D. systems came online. She shook her hands trying to get her nerves to settle down. Her heart was racing. There was no doubt in her mind she wanted to get married to Arturo today. She just didn't want anyone actually being there for it. Nothing like having a family reunion.

The door opened as the bridal party would ascend down the isle of tables to the makeshift alter raised up on a platform. Corrine walked slowly, carrying a simple arrangement of flowers in her arms. In her visor, she saw all the people who'd come to see the ceremony. Her skin chilled, bumps raised up down her arms and legs but she felt like she was sweating. Cold sweats. Oh great. Stupid nervousness!

With all the blessings of the gods, Corrine made it over to the platform without tripping or making a fool of herself. And now she dared herself to look at her betrothed (@Arturo Solus ). He had his helmet tucked under his arm, so she could see his handsome face watching her. She could already see the surprise he'd have when he would remove her helmet like a veil. There had only been one time in her life she'd worn makeup and that was before her father passed away. Arturo was sure to be in for a shock.

Coming up in front of him she'd pass her flower bouquet to Raz (@Sreeya ) and fold her hands in front of her, waiting for the embarrassing ceremony to start. She tried her hardest not to look off to the side where she knew everyone would be watching her. "It's just me and him", she'd tell herself. "Only look at Tiger." That was her nickname for him. It took her quite some time to find one she really liked, and had gone through several awful ones trying to figure it out. Her bridal party would come up behind her and very soon someone would come to officiate for them. Not that Mandalorian weddings required such a thing. It was just one more thing someone insisted she do.

Standing at the front of the hall and off to the side, armor cleaned and polished with the Solus Badger symbol prominently painted on his pauldron, Dalyn Solus silently wondered how he had been talked into this. The berserker skald was a man of words, it was one of the many talents he happily owned too, but this was something else entirely; the simplicity of a Mandalorian wedding did not in any way detract from the traditions and love that it was forged by. Officiating was the duty of someone far grander than a hammer-swinging minstrel; a figure of religious authority or a war leader in the groom's clan or house. He had never even been to a wedding, though he'd heard the story of his own parents' ceremony more times than he could recall. And so, when informed the day before the ceremony that his services were needed, he had gotten to work gathering all that he would need.

A brazier wrought of beskar dominated the left side of the makeshift altar, garlanded by flowers and bracketed by several unadorned beskad; spare weapons for the groomsmen and bridal party meant to deter any suitors who came calling to interrupt the ceremony. On the altar itself sat Dalyn's own helmet, the black badger of their clan with a freshly painted stripe of gold looking out in silent witness of the proceedings, a cloth pouch decorated with beads of bone and gemstone and a glass of tihaar; though whether that glass was meant for the ceremony or to steady his own nerves Dalyn could not say.

@Arturo Solus was a man Dalyn knew by reputation, and he carried himself with the strong solid posture one would expect of a Mandalorian verde; though the rapid tapping of his foot betrayed the anxiety his kinsman must certainly be feeling. An unnatural hush descended on the crowd, and Dalyn had only a moment to consider that something truly horrible must have happened to silence such a rowdy bunch before he turned and saw the bride, @Corrine Eldar, approaching down the aisle with her bridal party flanking her. Were it not for the flowing cloak and sash of white decorating her shining armor Dalyn would have assumed she was marching to war and not to be wed; the set of her shoulders and the stiffness in her movements showing her willingness to burn the first one to make a comment. Striding toward the altar, moving so that he would come to a stop before the couple shortly after Corrine herself arrived, Dalyn felt a smile split his face at the way she calmed and the set of her shoulders relaxed when face to face with the man she loved.

Nodding at Dio and Raz in gratitude for seeing the couple safely to the altar, and shooting a small grin at Raz and her braided hair with a humorously dazed look on his face, Dalyn clasped his hands behind his back beneath the head of his power hammer and began to speak, the almost musically lilting Mando'a carrying clear to the other end of the hall but his words meant for the two standing before him.

"Arturo Solus. Corrine Eldar. Today you both stand before the eyes of the Gods and your kinsmen to be bound in love and honor as husband and wife. You have both fought on the field of battle, stood tall where others have fallen, tasted your own shares of the sweetness of victory and the bitterness of defeat, and lived where others have perished. From this day to the end of days, never again will you stand apart; you will fight together, live together, face victory and defeat together, and die together."

Bowing his head for a moment, Dalyn turned to face Arturo and said, "Arturo of Solus, remove her helm so that you may see your brides eyes, and raise your left hand." Pausing a moment, he grinned slyly at the intake of breath from the groom and the murmuring of the crowd as the beautiful redhead's face was revealed. Turning to face Corrine, he met her gaze and said, "Corrine of Eldar, raise your right hand and lay it palm to palm with your groom."

Turning away from the two, he reached for the pouch on the altar and removed a long chain of shimmering beskar, the metal run through each link with silk strands soaked in fragrant oils in the colors of House Solus. Raising the chain Dalyn began to sing softly in Mando'a, beseeching the blessing of the stars and the Gods and whoever cared to listen onto the couple as he wound it up and down Corrine's arm over her armor, threading it through the gaps in their fingers and repeated the process on Arturo's arm. The ends of the chain came together over their wrists and dangled freely between them until Dalyn retrieved from his belt several strands of silk in the colors of House Eldar and tied the two ends together before laying it over their joined hands. The words that followed were of his own invention, and he prayed that they were enough.

"Arturo of Solus, do you vow to take this woman as your wife? To stand at her back, that she may guard your own as you guard hers? To lift your blade in defense of her as she raises her own in defense of you? To speak when words must be spoken, and to listen when they should not? To honor her as she honors you? To defend her House even as we take her into our own? To raise men she would be proud to call sons and women she would be proud to call daughters? Arturo of Solus I ask again - to all these things and so many more - do you vow here in the sight of the Gods and Clan to take this woman as your wife?"

Without pausing to allow Arturo to respond Dalyn turned to Corrine and spoke again.

"Corrine of Eldar, do you vow to take this man as your husband? To stand at his back, that he may guard your own as you guard his? To lift your blade in defense of him as he raises his own in defense of you? To speak when words must be spoken, and to listen when they should not? To honor him as he honors you? To defend your new House as fiercely as we shall defend yours? To raise men he would be proud to call sons and women he would be proud to call daughters? Corrine of Eldar I ask again - to all these things and so many more - do you vow here in the sight of the Gods and Clan to take this man as your husband?"

Gesturing to the bridal party and groomsmen to take another step back, Dalyn took two steps back and turned to face the altar while reaching for the glass of tihaar to quell the thirst constricting his throat before turning back to the couple. These next words and moments were for them, and the warning glance he shot to the crowd and the hand gripping the haft of his hammer made clear the danger awaiting anyone who chose to interrupt.

Percy crossed her arms. “Gawking? Pfft. What? Absolutely not. What are you talking about?” She said, stumbling through her words, less because of her botched Manda’o and more because of her own terrible attempt to lie. She was obviously gawking beneath her helmet. Drace was decked in a different set of armor, painted red rather than white, and he was looking particularly striking. Not that the Mandalorian female was considering anything serious.

She was a hardcore Mando fando and simply admired the many various warriors strewn throughout the wedding, each in their own unique set of armor. Since a child, she had adored the Mandalorian people, and to stand among them? She was ready to shit her pants. Of course, she needed to maintain appearances, especially when the bride arrived.

Needless to say, before she could take a seat, Percy watched as another man surfaced beside Drace. Under her helmet, she scoffed. “I’m nobody’s lady, thank you very much.” Hand on her hip, she eyed the other man for a moment before turning her attention back to Drace. “Well, for now.” With a joking slap on the man’s shoulder, which was more of a punch and less of a joke, Persephone spun on her heels and slipped over to her seat, hoping to reach the front row.

Crazy as she was, Percy kept her mouth closed during the proceedings. It was a struggle not to scream or squeal with delight at witnessing the vows, but she managed. Miraculously. Somehow. Nevertheless, she fought back tears, even if she had absolutely no clue who either of the Mandalorians in question were. It was something straight out of a holofilm, and she loved every second of it.

Solone didn't know the bride or the groom, but that didn't stop her from wanting to celebrate this occasion with the rest of House Solus, not to mention there would be lots of celebrating, drinking and feasting. She had taken the time to polish her armor, cleaning it of scuffs and blaster fire burns, it probably needed it anyway, but Solone was partial to it being worn in appearance, it looked like she did things. Letting her wavy hair fall long today, she sat quietly with the other guests, she thought she had seen Varus (@Raydo), another member of her clan, and who she heard took out two Sith on the Rebel's evacuation on Al'doleem.

Her favorite Mandalorian, Leandros (@Painus), was also present, sitting in the front, his bald head easy to find among the others and she would be just in the corner of his eye, waiting for him to turn just far enough to flash him a smile and turn her attention back to the wedding ceremony. However, she really didn't know anyone else who was present, but she doubted that wouldn't last for very long after the partying begun.

Dal spoke, initiating the ceremony as the two would take their vows to one another, she saw their Mand'alor standing as she held the flowers of the bride. Solone smirked to herself feeling for the woman, she looked awkward and even possibly bored. If only the rest of the galaxy saw their leader holding flowers, personally Solone thought she looked better holding her beskad and blasters.

"Well," he replied, stepping back so Dax could get a good look at her, "—this is Percy." She protested, but he just nodded in an exaggerated manner, turning to Dax to shrug as she left. The two men standing around, Drace found that an opportunity as good as any to take off his helmet—it would be rude not to do it at this point.

He held it at his side, arm around it, supported against his waist. "How have you been?" he asked. It had been a week or two since Coruscant, time in which Drace had been laying low in the Unknown regions, having just broken out of his hermit period to attend the wedding. If things went well, he saw no reason to go back to the icy planet he'd been living on, as enjoyable as the company he'd had was.

The ceremony seemed to be beginning, so the Marauder moved to take a seat nearby, the rows of chairs beginning a few meters away from them. Dax would probably sit next to him, which would be an opportunity to continue the conversation, but after the vows were exchanged—Drace was observing now. He spotted Percy up ahead a few seats, but he knew to give someone space. Maybe they'd meet again until the party was over. For now, she needed to get some socializing in with the other clan members as well.

"Pleased you mee..." He tried to reply to the woman as Drace introduced her but feel sort as she stopped off. Dax was unsure if she was irritated by his presents, his comment, or the simply fact that apparently Drace failed to seal the deal and continued to dance around something they had. Dax wasn't invested enough to care one way of the other, so he simply shrugged.

"Drunk mostly, and how are the icy hells of what ever hole you like to hide in ?" he replied to Drace as the two of them seated. For his part, the Rau marauder decided to wait until they were seated before taking his helmet off. Again. His friend had returned his gaze to the woman, Percy. Yet ANOTHER Solus, karking clan seemed to bread like the karking Drast's. He thought to himself.

As the ceremony began though, Dax shifted his attention to the couple. To the joining of two lives. They were finding love in a maddening time. One of war, of loss. He looked two the pair. Then looked past them. The sudden truth of it all hit him. In all his years he had never been so lucky as to find someone to trust enough to give his heart to. He wondered now if he could, after his recent actions.

Dax shook it off and returned to his normal self, "I need a beer."

Gods, this marriage ceremony was dragging on forever. His drink was empty, and his position at the fore of the crowd made it pretty difficult to get up unnoticed in order to refill it or sneak away. Normally, he would just stand up, declare the wedding complete, and then order his people to go out and drink, but, for some reason, he decided against it right now. This was their special day. Or something.

But wow was it dragging on.

Leandros turned his head to get the general feel for the crowd, catching Solone just staring at him. Neat. She seemed to be in a good mood. He raised his bottle in salute, smiled, and turned back around as she smiled. Dalyn was babbling about something that he did not really care about, going on and on about marriage vows or… He didn’t know. It was all real cute. He did not do cute. ”Okay,” he said to himself, putting the glass bottle on the ground. He planted his hands on his thighs and stood up, shouting, ”Oya!” and stepped on the bottle, shattering it in celebration. There. Now they were married. Mandalorians were notoriously short in the patience realm, and if he had to sit down any longer to see some cutesy braiding or sappy love vows or poems or anything, he was probably going to suck-start a blaster. They had their little ceremony and saw each other, now it was time to have the actual party. He circled with his fingers and pointed to the outside where their refreshments awaited them, announcing, ”We’ve had our marriage, now let us have our fun!”

There were a few excited looks as Leandros picked up his helmet and prepared to walk out, grinning at the various Mandalorians gathered. He was definitely going to catch some shit for this, but, really, they all knew the real reason they were here. It was a party, not a funeral. Nobody was even drunk! He made his way outside into the refreshing Mandalorian air and sighed contentedly. Time to find the alcohol table.

Another marriage complete.

Raz felt out of place standing there with the bouquet. It was not really her thing, but she wanted to be here for their big day. She stood there, smiling prettily at the crowd as Dalyn arrived to start things off. She caught him looking at her, the gaze lingering a bit longer than needed, and it caused her to almost laugh. Raz gave him a faint smile in return, watching him move on to the vows. He had obviously put a lot of thought into this, thinking about the beautiful union that was happening.

Her smile faded just slightly as she began think of her own experiences, her mind drifting to Val and the Nar Shaddaa party. She had decided to walk away from him forever that day, and it still stung her. Raz’s jaw tightened, but she had to keep from allowing any emotions to show. It was difficult not to be reminded of her own failures as she watched the happy couple. She reminded herself to get a grip, realizing she was selfishly thinking of herself when this was Corinne and Arturo’s day.

After a while, though, her eyes were beginning to glaze over from standing around. Raz was not the most patient of women, and this was beginning to push her beyond her limits. She fidgeted and moved around, still standing there prettily with her braid over shoulder. Raz looked out over the crowd, seeing some people beginning to drink already. Mandalorians weren’t known for their patience or extravagant ceremonies. The weddings she had been to in the past had involved one line of vow, followed by drinking.

Raz sighed and turned her focus back to the ceremony, shaking her head to keep with it. After a moment, she was distracted by the sound of a bottle smashing, looking over to see Leandros standing triumphantly. Raz had to bite her lip to keep from smiling, and he set of a chain of reactions.

Several other Mandos jumped to their feet with a resounding “OYA!” and made a beeline to get drinks. Raz smiled and handed the bouquet back to Corinne for her to toss at the next eligible bachelorette. She left the ceremony area and made her way towards where the drinks were, grabbing an entire bottle. She took a swig from it directly, deciding she would just claim this for herself.

Seated near the back, Myri had a bittersweet smile on her lips as the ceremony began. It reminded her of her own wedding, all those years ago. But the sadness that tried to overcome her was coming from a good place, from a longing for her dead family, not from any bitterness towards the kids who were getting married. She had moved on that, had made her peace with her losses. She was happy for them, at least as happy as someone like her could be. She wished her the best, a long and happy life, happier than hers had been.

But as happy and supportive as she was, she couldn't deny that the wedding was a little much for her to deal with, specially one this long. By this time in her wedding she had already dragged Darman into a side chamber and was consummating their marriage. Short and sweet was how weddings ought to be, it was the fun stuff that came after that they were supposed to take their time with. Sometimes she wondered if she was getting too old to understand this younger generation.

Thankfully she was not the only one who felt that the ceremony was dragging, and once his proclamation went up more folks started joining in in the festivities. As much of an outsider as she felt, it would have been wrong for her to start off the drinking, but now she would simply be one in a wave. Getting to her feet as well, she found a drink, picking up a large bottle of some sort of ale the badgers liked, and took a long glug before putting it down with a bark of a laugh.

"To the happy couple!" She shouted as she raised her bottle high, a cheer going up form the other revelers around her. "May their fights be short, and what comes after long and fierce!" Guffaws went up at the remark, surrounded as she was by more mandalorians in the process of downing drinks, the drinking and partying well and truly under way now.

THEME
While he was not one to attract attention to himself Archie was a little different. He made grumbling noises and little badger yips here and there causing Koil's head to look down at the animal. The dire badger looked over the back of the seat at Koil who stood at the back wall. He had a simple expression like he was supposed to know what he was thinking. The man just shrugged from his leaning position at the back of the hall. In one hand he already had his second drink but he used his other to pull out a little bit of field rations and toss it to the badger who quickly started chomping on them quietly. He did not want Archie getting all noisy during the middle of the ceremony or chewing on somebody's boot laces.

Last time there were this many happy mandalorians getting together they had drank and started a bar fight on Nar Shaddaa that practically became a small riot. Koil had continued to party the night away even as others were knocked out and tapped out. This was a wedding though, one that was different than any other on Mandalore he had seen. Technically this was the first wedding he had actually been to. All others had happened in near privacy and Koil rarely attended the after party. So today, he would be pregaming since everyone tended to apparently get drunk before him. It would be best if he was ahead of them in that regard for this event.

Koil could use some of the spirit to calm himself and deal with socializing. While he had begun interacting more with his own clan and participating in larger events, professional and casual, the Field Marshal was still an introvert and preferred the selective company rather than the mass attendance like this.

He was glad to see Drace had finally changed his armor from that white paint scheme at least though he was now observing the Death Watch symbol on numerous armors here and there as they had come in. As things started to take off Koil would take just a few steps towards the back row and remove wave for Archie to move from the seat he had been sitting in. The dire badger would hop off the seat and down to the ground where he would finish his food.

Waiting patiently as ever Koil listened to the Dalyn. There was a reason they did not have these sort of things made so public because somebody would do what several mandalorians did and demand something more exciting to happen. Sure, it was fantastic for the two involved in the matrimony but for everyone else they needed something more than just words. Cheers were shouted and people rose from their seats. Koil downed his drink and needed to find a third soon. The sound of Archie's claws on the hard ground clicked as he knew they would be walking, like a dog looking forward to a walk. "Oya." he said stoicly knowing that while the Echani would be consuming alcohol the badger would be on the hunt for some food. He quickly sped off to some part of the building or outside. Koil huffed in amusement and headed towards the bar.

Stopping at the supply of libations he knew Burkhart had stocked plenty of alcohol. He would get something hardy though. Today he ordered something red and sweet. It was a happy day and in these dark time maybe even he as a cynic needed to lighten his mood. It would start with a sweet drink. Well, it would soon carry on to be a little be sweeter because after he tasted the first drink he sucked it down so fast he was soon left with nothing but ice. "Another please." he told the liquor caterer
