Just wondering if anyone else out there has any martial arts experience. I've been training in Kyokushin for about a year and a half now and I'm loving it.

What other styles have people trained in?

Non sport Jujitsu, and kendo, and looking at expanding that to Naginata

Nice. I've had just enough of a taste of jujitsu to hope that if I'm ever attacked, they don't know jujitsu...because if they did I'd probably be unconscious or in an equally painful lock before I knew what was happening.

Karate, TKD, Shaolin Kung Fu, Kickboxing, and various self defense classes are what I've gone through. I'm interested in Muay Thai, but the training sounds too painful lol

Thats a big reason I like it.. best way to stop someone from hurting you when they attack, take away their ability to attack.

the locks are one thing, but remember the things like the palm strikes to an exposed and hyper-extended elbow ^_^

made more sense for the samurai though.. jujitsu was designed by them as a way to disarm, and make another armoured opponent prone to a killing blow ( which was rarely done by sword, and more often small knife)

Taekwondo. Was one belt from Black but was too lazy to do the year-long training it would take to do so.

I've dabbled in boxing and kick boxing, and that's about it. Come next school year I want to get more in to it.

That is quite awesome. Maybe one day I'll work up the nerve to try Krav...

My elbow hurts just thinking about that...

It took me until college to even start. I just didn't have the time before; but now I pretty much want to keep doing it as long as I can. There's just so much to learn! And kumite is perhaps the best kind of "fun" I could ever want to have.

Boxing - I do this about everytime I go to the gym, good cardio and it's get for venting =p

Muay Thai - Did this for about 6 months, have the shin bruises/marks still from it; a lot of fun.

Krav Maga - Did this a little bit in a Defensive Tactics class I took at College, was a 3 month course of Knife Defense using Israeli Defensive tactics. Learned a little bit of it but plan on doing this one in particular once I'm outta school.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu - Sparred here and there with my friend then did an MMA course that was mixed with Thai Boxing for standup. Sounds like I know more than I do; but I know a fair share.

Been sparring with a friend of mine (boxing) and I like it a lot. Gonna get more into it if I have enough time between school/work.

I don't do, "arts". I kick ass, efficiently and practically. There's nothing fancy or artsy about it.

Did Tai-Chi for a while. Still occasionally do it, but incorrect posture due to lack of guidance renders it pretty much useless.

But i think i'll save the money for lessons to buy a gun.
