I don't know what to say about it to be honest. It's supposed to be about James Vega and his mission before Mass Effect 3, but was James really that well received that he deserved his own prequel on his backstory that wasn't really that interesting in the first place? I would rather it be like a Halo: Legends thing where it's multiple stories in one because I want to see stuff about Miranda running from her father or The Illusive Man's origins, both of whom are much more interesting than James anyway imo.

The writer from The Clone Wars is writing too, so that already lowered my expectations.

Edit: The animation is... ok. It's from the ones who did Ghost in the Shell, but I don't like the way the Krogan look. Also, why is James in N7 armor? I thought he wasn't even in the N7 program back then? Are you telling me they can't even keep their own lore consistent anymore?

Something tells it's going to get worse, knowing EA.

Why? Why Vega. Literally 99% of the characters in ME are more liked and more interesting than that meat head.

they CAN- when they keep the main writers in the lead spot... but seeing how things go when David, or Drew are not in the lead and " final say" spot for their stories, things descend to hell rapidly.

True Dena.

Bioware did a sensational job for the writing on Old Republic.

no doubt about that, I loved the story with Rvan and the exile too... but pulling drew also is what doomed ME3 to be left in the hands of Marc and Casey

Why was Drew pulled? Was it because of The Old Republic or something else?

pretty much they wanted him on old republic because of his dealings with the SW univers as it relates to that time, and that " other writers helping though ME could carry it where it needed to go"

then comes to find out that most of ME3 did have good writing- and was given peer review and such... except when it came to anything decided by Marc and Casey who really really wanted that deus-ex ending, and they pretty much " could do no wrong" so they had no oversight, and thats where things fell to crap, and the lore goes way off track and information is skewed and contradicts itself * oddly it's only what marc wrote that really does this, the other writing teams were really good about lore*

James was my favourite character in ME3 along with Cortez, so yes, I'd say he deserves it. Whether it'll be any good or not is another thing entirely.

Well pardon us for wanting our own ending rather than the same recolored ending. I'm surprised Drew didn't throw a fit.

If you're not joking could you please tell me why James was your favorite? I did not find him that interesting or memorable as Garrus or Liara. Granted he is an ok character, but not someone I was pick as a favorite.

I think he sort of did in a way, it was shortly after the ME3 chaos, and fans bombarding him with " look what they did to your series" he pretty much said he was quitting Bioware, and when finished with the Star Wars book he was contracted for he would step away from that and focus on his own works again.

Might explain why the Revan novel felt so rushed and irrelevant. Still. ME hasn't had a huge sense of continuity. ME1 to ME2, for example, was a complete plot jump, with little to do with the Reapers, and then ME3, BAM, Reapers everywhere and two plotlines completely devastated ( ME1 ) or utterly ignored ( ME2 ).

There's reviews on youtube that describe this better than I can, admittedly.

James and the other new Human characters have been far more interesting then Williams, Alenko, Taylor and Lawson IMO.

Also they are doing him most likely because some people who should be beat in the face will bitch if it's done about Wrex or Tali and they'll go "But my ME game don't got them! WHAAAAA!"

Well, I'm not sure if they ever established an official canon ending for each game, but I am going to assume it's where everyone lives. Since if they did they would have to go with whatever canon says, and whoever cries about it will have to deal with it.

If they did a movie about Wrex's early days on Tuchanka or him rising to power after Saren's defeat, it would be awesome most likely even if some people killed him in ME1. Honestly, I think Wrex deserves more stuff then he is getting now.

And as far as I know, there is no canon story for Shepard's story, other then Saren and The Collectors were defeated.

there SORTA is for 2: going by the books it's the paragon choice as far as blowing the base.... though cerberus was still able to recover enough in the debris to screw around with the reaper tech anyway......and recover pants as well....
