My dad was in the US Air Force for 22 years, then retired a Lieutenant Colonel. Now he works making awesome weapons for a military contractor.

Japans over rated....

America is over rated.

Anyway, my family has a long history of militaristic involvement. Right now my little brother is in the 101st Airborne Division (Army). My Father was a Marine and so was his father. My other grandfather was in the Air Force for almost his entire life. My family comes from a Samurai clan. I'm sure there are others, but I don't know of them specifically.

My Grandfather, all three of his brothers, a load of other uncles and whatnot were in the Red Army. If you count the KGB as military, there were one or two in that too.

Only one on the British side, from World War I.

EDIT: Oh yeah, British cousin in Afghan.

My Grandfather Was with the Royal Navy, My aunt ( mothers side) served in the US Navy (if being a secretary for the Admiralty is really considered active military) . Nobody out of my gen serve any. I do however have several friends and a former staff member of this site I consider friends serving, but then again that's not family.

My Uncle was in the Army. I have no idea what he does now. Sits at home, reads Harry Potter and listens to Pearl Jam, I suppose.

My grandfather was in World War II; a tank commander, from what I heard and what he told. He was shot through the arm by a German sniper, and a piece of shrapnel got embedded into one of his lungs. He lived to his last days like that.

My uncle was in Vietnam - a Helicopter pilot. He was involved in a crash or two; came out only with heart problems, from what I understand.

My great-grandfather fought in his countries army during WWII, and was nearly executed by firing squad for refusing a direct order from his superior. The reason he didn't was because a superior officer to the both told them it was a waste of time and would gain them nothing.

The order was to burn town a small city in Germany because it was believe one of them housed a Jewish refugee, and the town had to be punished for it.

Tell me how so?

Because, I noticed the streets are in fact NOT paved with gold.:CIsee:

Because, outside of America, the American Army isn't particularly well thought of.

Do you mean the Army or American military in general? I'm just wondering. And if you could elaborate on it. I am always curious about others' pov.:)
