Moiraine Bashere (Mwah-RAIN bah-SHEER), known among the Jedi as simply Rain, was a female Kiffar Jedi padawanduring the Force Eternal era.

Born on Kiffar, Rain was the eldest daughter of the current Sheyf of Kiffar, Eamon Bashere. Growing up she wanted nothing more than to follow in the footsteps of her father, her aunt, and her cousins, and one day join the Kiffu Guardians. She, and others like her, started training from an early age. While she was not the strongest among her peers, her naturally inquisitive nature and sharp mind made her shine in the less physical aspects of the training, consistently placing at the top of her class in reasoning, sciences, and mathematics and analytics.

She was fourteen when the AMS virus began ravaging the Galaxy, and her entire cadet class was inducted into the Guardians to help deal with the crisis. It was during this time, while the Guardians were working side by side with the Jedi to help relocate refugees in the Inner Rim when her strength in the Force was discovered. Though at first she resisted, hesitant to leave her family, her home, and everything she knew behind, she ultimately agreed to travel to Yavin IV to begin her training as a Jedi. What convinced her was the time she had spent working besides Jedi, seeing how they dedicated themselves to helping others and how one Jedi could change the fate of an entire planet. So she joined to become the sort of Guardian she had always dreamed of being, one who could help and protect all of Kiffu.
