Agreed on posting order. It's why I ninja'd in behind Russian. Yay Chaos.

@Cazar

Can you please edit your post as I mentioned in mine that I was well hidden and kneeling behind thick brushes and trees. He wouldn’t be so easily identifiable and open to being attacked.

You put yourself 30 meters away on top of a hill right in front of me in broad daylight. Kneeling in a bush does nothing. You don't get to be super close to me and be invisible to me.

To clarify here, since this is pretty early on and all, you wrote that Varek was near some thick bushes and trees, being under cover or seeking concealment, or the positioning of those trees between Varek and the Mandalorians were never mentioned. That being said, it's the very first round of combat so I don't imagine an adequate defense will be hard to devise.

I'm just trying to figure out an Intro post that doesn't involve attack prep that won't bone me next post round.

Can we have a pvp without it being bickering and changes every round? I want to have fun here not argue the entire time. You two are very much not going to enter the thread super close and invisible. We are not going to one shot kill you either. (Probably unless you don’t defend?)

It wasn't bickering until you made it seem that way, homie, how about you chill a bit? I'm trying to write an OP that doesn't involve breaking PvP rules by making any PvP actions and can't, so that's where a lot of this is coming from. We're trying to communicate, not friggin' fight with you.

Okay sorry if you saw me as aggressive but that’s not it at all. Just trying to do a pvp and it’s round one we’ve already got you two asking for changes and arguing.

Again, we're not arguing. Your snarky comment, telling us what do and don't get to do when invading an Open thread brought on one in return. We can argue semantics until the cows come home if you want, but we really just want everyone to have a fair, and relatively less incendiary intro to the thread.

But you don't have to do anything, I've figured it out.

Sounds like you're reading more snark into what I say than what is there. Maybe take a step back and stop looking at me as the enemy. We're just here to have fun and write, do a little competing between friends. Relax man I'm not after you guys or "demanding" or whatever you seem to think. It's a combat thread. Get into combat. Be fair. Go.

@Nor'baal

Not asking you to edit but just as a FYI, I mentioned in my positioning that I was 30 meters west of Cazar who is already 500 meters west of the city wall. So while Im not contesting what your character can see and such, he would be physically closer to the Mandolorians than the Sith and thus would likely encounter them first as he advances closer to the firefight.

Just making sure we have locations correct.

Sounds good to me. Chucks my chap into the action sooner, so all good with me :-)

It seems there has been some misconfusion. Players are thinking I have timed out but I was merely waiting for Real Russian to post based on Clayton's recommended posting order. Since we initially began combat out of order, I wasn't sure how to proceed in this case. I was assuming Russian would post next and the turn would continue as suggested.

However, I'd like to extend my reply window based on this reason.

Combat Rules said:
  • Every combat thread has a "time-out" period. Combatants are expected to post their opening posts within 72 hours of the battle being first posted. After this, the posting window is variant depending on the number of people in the thread. If it is 1v1, each person has 48 hours to post, in 2v2 each team has 48 hours to post, and in threads with two teams with 5+ individuals total each team has 72 hours in total to post. Failure to post during that time will automatically result in a hit for whatever attacks were made in the previous opponent's post.
  • Teams should, whenever possible, post in team blocks. Failure to post in that timeframe will result in your round being considered a "pass" regardless of whether the enemy team has posted. Gentleman's agreements for longer posting windows is not allowed in official battles.
    • Raif Rule: If an opponent has a catastrophic real life event that prevents them from returning to the site and posting for an extended amount of time, then the hit will not be lethal, however the character may be captured and have an opportunity to have others mount a rescue attempt. This only applies to extended leaves of absence.
    • If early enough in a thread, a member is unable to continue, then the event host may find a replacement for that character.
    • If requested edits by an administrator is not completed within 24 hours of notification, the post in question will be considered null, and treated the same as if there was no post. Auto-hit rules come in effect.

  • I was unaware of any confusion, I simply thought there either was no plan to post or the thread was forgotten or something. I noticed it had been a good chunk over 72 hours since it was your team's turn and even according to this order you would have posted earlier. So while I know it sucks, this is what both the rules say in #1 and #2 and what our OOC showed. :/

While this is true, your team did not fully finish its turn as suggested by Clayton's recommended posting order. You posted twice versus your teammate has only posted once. Russian should be posting after Gian in order to complete your faction's turn and thus it would be our turn to resume our counter/attack.

There's nothing to be confused about, or to break out the law degree. I've had a 3v3 the TL before last where four people from three factions joined literally all at once. My teammate that next round wouldn't post until after two others, whom we were not in combat with. This is the exact same situation. You skipped him, @Cazar

That said, the posting order tightens up to resemble what Clayton suggested.
