That username is already taken.

Refer to your user mod. Keep in mind you will not be able to change the name again for another 90 days, so tread carefully.

I'd like my name to be changed back to SwineOfTheSkies, I mean't change my title but...well.

I changed my name to this, but I managed to misspell 'wiener' because I'm stupid. I am now unable to change my username for 90 days. Could an admin please change 'weiner' to 'wiener' or change me back to Old Spice?

Unfortunately you'll both (Alpha and 10; and Carlos Spicy Weiner) have to wait for 90 days (counting from the date you made the change).


Also, folks please keep in mind we can't change your username on a whim. Tread carefully when you do change your usernames.

If you aren't going to change people's names anymore then perhaps you should close this thread and make a sticky telling people that they can change it themselves once every 90 days. Seems like that would be easier than telling people no one-by-one.

The problem is that every single post you've made on swrp will have to undergo the change too otherwise they'll no longer be your posts/threads. People with over 1,000 posts and such, it does damage to the server and requires quite a bit of work to have so many name changes so frequently. Even is it's an accident, I completely understand why you'd still have to wait. They aren't saying 'NO! You CAN'T get your name changed for 90 days because I big boss admin! :CStern' They're saying no to keep from the server shitting on itself and causing the site to crash.

Not trying to burst any bubbles, here, just trying to give insight on why it is what it is.

Totally understandable, but if they aren't going to change names and are instead going to encourage people to do it themselves (with the "once every 90 days" stipulation) then they should just close this thread and post a sticky letting people know about the new method for name changes. Since, obviously, people aren't quite understanding the new way this thing's done.

That was a :CDumb on my part. Didn't realize that we could change our own names now. (Of course seeing the posts where people were talking about changing their own names confused the utter fecking shite out of me.)

EDIT: Go to 'edit profile' in your settings page and you'll find an option that allows you to change your username.

In your user settings you can alter your user name, blue.
It can only be done once every 90 days.

I do, however, agree with Jon on this matter.

If the administration aren't going to change names for us, then this thread needs a firm "stfu"/lock.
Beyond that, in future when changing your user name. Read twice, hit submit once.

Up top on the corner, click settings.
Once that loads, go to "Edit Profile"

Under the 2nd subheading you'll find "Username Change - Optional" (the first being "Registration Required Information - All fields are required.")

Then it has a cute little heading that says; "Edit Username" with an appropriate warning of "You may only change your username once every 90 day(s)."
