Nano Over-Ocular Implants (Not really armor, but had best fit.)

images-8_zps19d533ea.jpg

Manufacturer: Elizabeth Charissa, Prostheta-Technologies

Production Line: 6th Prototype built with excess materials at end of development stage for "Live" testing.

Model: Nano-Scale Eye Assistance Implants

Technical Weapon Designation: 106 N Series OOI

Affiliation: N/A Original manufctuer intended to sell as a medical assistance device.

Availability: Medical and vision assistance derivative intended for sale in near future. This particular model is unique and not for sale.

Modularity: When delivered to user, firmware was left unlocked so Tyler could modify, or add limited functionality.

Composition: Non-toxic nanostructure built into a composite bio-plasti.

Ownership: Tyler Hendrickson

Description: Nano Over-Ocular Implants with unlocked firmware that have been further modified by Tyler.

Classification: Ocular Implant
Weight: Undisclosed due to Prostheta-tech corporate NDA

Quality: Class 10 for craftsmanship, 0 protection.

Other Feature(s): Please see description below.

Nano-Ocular Implants - Obtained from Nanotech research frigate.

Capabilities:
Hands-free data and OS Interface -
Can slice without using his hands, however use of an eye based interface is slower, and Tyler rather use his hands as he can work faster, but works in a pinch. Implants sense weak brain wave and neural activity and can be trained with fast commands based on thought. (Limited functionality and only good for a few commands due to complexity of brainwaves and necessary training of individual to be able to form so many "seperate" commands. Main quick functions are activate commlinks, activate interface, activate shields, and activate repulsor burst. Otherwise complex eye gestures, or looking around in a "virtual" eye interface are necessary, and provide backups in places of high em interference where brainwaves would not be able to be properly detected or deciphered.)

EM Field detection and analysis -
Originally designed to find interrupted circuits or incomplete or damaged power relays aboard starships - Can be adjusted to detect much smaller EM fields, such as concealed weapons or Implants.

Thermal Vision -
Limited, but great if intergrated with EM, to get through thick fog or smoke.

Limited Optical Zoom -
Implants can provide up to 8x digital zoom, and auto focus, though disorientating so Tyler prefers not to use.

Intergrated HUD - Can interface with ship systems, or computers to create a virtual Heads up display, allowing Tyler to use ship sensors to create wire frame outlines for ships not in LOS, in a dogfight for example, Tyler can see the wireframe outline of a fighter below or above him.

Modifiable Firmware -
Tyler can program implants to perform further functions as time goes on, and as the need arises. (Cannot be modified on the fly, is an overtime modification.)

Well, like I and Cassa said in the gun thread, use the pre-existing forms.

But the reason I'm really repeating it here, is entirely different. Nanotech is extremely limited and expensive. Only major companies like BlasTech, SoroSuub, Kuat Drive Yards, or major governments like the Alliance or the Sith can really afford, or have the technology, to make nanotechnology, I'm afraid.

This seems to be only useful as a blunt instrument type of slicing tool, a quick and dirty deal. If that's the case you could just drop the brain-waves for pattern recognition. A series of blinks for one command, or a sequence of eye movements for something else. That would allow for a larger list of "commands" IMO.

Blinking is part of te eyeion commands, as for a blunt slicing tool. They wouldn't be very effective at that unless your running a series of pre-written attack scripts, otherwise I see slicing as needing a little bit more user interaction. At least for my character that is going to be using this.

As for format, I will be fixin too, I read all the format posts and my brain totally just dumped it.

I actually have a decent bio for how these were obtained, I can pm that information or I can ditch the nano tech.

There are a limited number of eye movements and blink patterns possible, and worst the wearer would have to remember them all. Something that responds to thoughts would be a much more intuitive interface.

I honestly don't see where the problem is with the nanotechnology in this implant. It's being used in ways readily extrapolated from modern-day nano-manufacturing, not swarms of magic robots.

Then wouldn't a direct neural interface work better? I mean you're already getting an implant for your eyes.

What do you think something that reads brainwaves is? It reads all the same things an interface will without the need for brain surgery.

Since the others said it, I'll just reiterate it in an official sense; gotta follow the template bro. In most cases, I'd have locked this off the bat because it ignores instruction, but I'm not big on hard enforcement if I know someone genuinely didn't know. Nevertheless, there's a form to follow. I'll leave this and the other three up for 24 hours, after that, gotta lock em. If you don't update them before the 24 hours and you still want to use them, shoot me a PM and I'll unlock them.

Updated...and thanks for the leniency. Only the clothes left to update.

I seriously doubt that these nano eye-contacts would be 10. Remember, 10 also counts as stopping power and how protective they are, not just the craftsmanship.

What?! These are obviously nano shield implants that can transform into eye socket death stars! J/k

I didn't realize the 10 also implied protective properties in this case. I will fix..
