New Alliances

Little had changed on New Alderaan since the Sith Empire had taken over. It was one of the main things he had noticed since he had arrived on the planet a few days ago on business. Trade still flowed in and out of the major cities, and long term reconstruction plans seemed to be in place across the world already. Such a project required one thing, however, which Larson had in spades - capital.

"The New Governor is one Arcturus Alkaios, I recommend you refer to him by his title, Governor Alkaios, Sir." a chromium coated 3P0 unit reminded Larson as he walked toward the entrance foyer of the regional Governors base of operations. "I guess this lot don't take too kindly to being improperly referenced, then?" Larson laughed.

"I would not advise putting it to the test, Sir." the droid replied, lacking a tone of irony.

He walked toward the security checkpoint at the entrance, as his droid fell silent. Extending the invite he had received to today's meeting, to an Imperial Military Officer, who quickly called the meeting in before checking his bag, he was ushered to the meeting with true Imperial efficicency.

"Governor Alkaios," Larson went to shake the Governor's hand as he walked into the meeting "- thank you for agreeing to meet with me. I believe we have a great many ways in which we can support the Imperial administration here."

It's time for the Governor's scheduled appointment with Larson Kao. There is much that needs to be done to clean up this messed called New Alderaan and to mold it in his image so that it will serve the Empire greatly. He was even willing to entertain outside companies to do so. Arcturus will see in this meeting what Larson Kao has to offer and go from there.

Larson was ushered into the office, the Governor would look upon him with his golden eyes. Larson will find that the Governor is not the typical pencilneck politician or Imperial bearucrat, Governor Alkaios is a Sith as well and can use the Dark Side of the Force and he didn't hide his Dark Side corrupted eyes in this case.

Arcturus would stand up and accept the handshake and nod his head. With that, he would gesture towards a seat in front of his desk. Arcturus would then sit down himself behind his desk and then light up a cigarra.

"Alright Mr. Kao, what can your company do for us? You have the floor" he said with a stoic, neutral expression on his face. Afterwards Arcturus would put the lit cigara in his mouth as Kao would respond. Kao would find that the Governor is efficient with his words as well as his time, not bothering, as they are getting straight to the point.

Larson briefly looked the sharply dressed Governor of New Alderaan up and down. He was every bit the Imperial Administrator, oozing confidence and power, which Larson did his uttermost to match. Keen to prove his credentials, he quickly took a seat opposite the Governor when invited to do so, snatching a glimpse of the dark-side corruption in the man's eyes.

Shit.

That made things much harder. He would need to watch his step, one mistruth and the entire prospect would collapse. He'd need to do this arrangement cleanly. Snapping his case open, he placed a few holoprojectors and a datapad down on the smooth tabletop and started his pitch. "We are a modest-sized business operating primarily on Rattatak, Hetzal Prime and a few other worlds. Our primary services are arms manufacturing, logistics, automation leasing and control and agriculture." he gently turned on the holoprojectors as he spoke, each projecting a small image that aligned with each service line.

"We can provide utility droids and their accompanying control stations -" one of the projectors cycled through a range of droid options, from lifters to astromechs "- alongside Import/Export facilities, in orbit to manage the flow of trade." a small image of an orbital station appeared. "This is one of the three main offerings we can make at this time."

He gestured to the next projector "We can also offer public security, for areas such as rail lines, speeder ports, prisons and more, providing a suite of droids, and their central command and control, including cybersecurity." he continued "- and finally, our agritech offerings." he gestured to the final projector "- we can, with your Governments permission, set up a range of fully automated farms here on New Alderaan, to support your food supply needs at the civilian and military level."

Larson fell silent. The offerings were extensive and intended to give the Governor a range of positions to consider and decline, in the hopes that one would, after further questioning, take his interest. "I have summarised the options here." he handed the Governor a datapad.

  • Automated Logistics: KUSCC can provide a range of Astro-mech and labour droids, focused in and around port work, to support New Alderaans import and export market. Based either on orbital stations, or ground-level facilities, they come in three tiers:
    • Teir One: Basic services, consisting of rented droids and their maintenance facilities.
    • Teir Two: Intermediate services, covering tier one options with additional shuttle services and an orbital control facility.
    • Teir Three: Advanced services, covering tier one and tier two options, with security droids provided.
  • Public Security: KUSCC can provide a range of security droids, on lease, to cover a list of facilities provided by the New Alderaan Imperial Governor. This can come with cybersecurity facilities as an additional extra.
  • AgriTech: To assist with public food supplies, KUSCC can manufacture a set number of automated farms, which will produce basic foodstuffs for sale to the New Alderaan Market.

The Governor contuined smoking his cigara as the other person spoke. at a glance it would look like Arcturus was barely paying attention but he was, his expression was also unchanging and neutral through out. Some of the options the other spoke of did have some value. Rail-lines, Prisons, Droids, automated farms .etc

The Sith Governor would then take the datapad and looked at the summarized options. The choices lay before him. But as he would evaluate some options, he did have some slightly related questions for the business man. "Intriguing proposals. But while I'm deciding, do tell me more about your company. I would be interested in knowing more about it, it's background, history..." he firmly stated. KUSCC is it? What does it stand for, is it a newer, upcoming company, or something stories? Arcturus can't say he's familiar with it. Those are things may or may not impact what Arcturus chooses to go with. Offers are one thing but if they have the substance needed is another.

The floor is back to Kao while he's evaluating, and so is the Sith's piercing eyes. Perhaps Arcturus will have more questions if they pop into mind.

Larson stiffened slightly as a curl of cigar smoke snaked across the table at him. After years in the armed forces, on a world that did not tolerate 'excesses' in their officer corps, the sight of a Governor indulging was new to him. Whilst the Governor wanted to consider his proposals, he asked Larson to go into some more detail about the formation of his company itself.

He obliged "Kao, Udin & Stargazer Commercial Combine." the businessman began "Was formed shortly after I stepped down from my role in the armed forces, where I had served in the Vardos 19th Ace Squadron. Initially a security consultancy, I expanded the firm into droid leasing, mostly around security droids and their support functions, namely scout droids and maintenance items."

Larson moved the discussion on to the next stage of his business career "We merged with a weapons development firm, as well as an agricultural combine next, and the rest, as they say, his history." he let out a slight laugh before continuing "My business grew within the Empire, having been born on the former Imperial stronghold of Vardos myself. Our style of business adheres to the practices seen in those days, which I believe to be the best manner of doing business."
