Endor - Just Outside Village

The Jedi had already made initial contact with the Ewok village closest to their new outpost, but they had not progressed so far. If they were going to have any lasting presence here, they needed to engage in a friendly or at least hospitable alliance with the Ewoks. They were not the largest threat, but Soren wanted no harm to come to the mostly peaceful race due to some misunderstanding.

Their chieftain had agreed to meet with them, saying he had some opportunity for them to prove themselves as worthy allies. Soren didn't exactly know what this "test" would be, but if it paved the way to peaceful relations then it was more than worth the trip out here.

Soren wore simple clothes, forgoing the traditional garb of the Jedi. His lightsaber hung from his hip, though he rarely used it these days. There had been a time when all Jedi had went well out of their to keep from using their weapon but those times were long past, the Galaxy not affording them the luxury of pacifists.

A small group of Jedi had accompanied him today. It would be a good opportunity to learn about diplomacy with another culture. The Ewoks were a primitive people, that could lead some to believe they were stupid, but Soren knew differently. While they certainly viewed the world around them differently, they were capable people.

"We are almost there," he said as he entered into a clearing, the tall trees that housed the village just on the other side. Even now he could hear the clicks and calls of the Ewoks as they announced the Jedi's arrival. "They may challenge us. It is important that we do not harm these people. We are the outsiders here and have to prove ourselves trustworthy." he said as he continued.

"Have any last-minute questions?" he asked the group of Jedi.

Yvain had once been to the Forrest moon of Endor, though it was over a century ago long before war became a staple diet of the galaxy. It was a sorrowful thought, the peaceful times long before the constant worry of the Sith was at the Jedi door. He waddled alongside the group as they made their way through the Forrest from their camp, although he had rather short legs he was surprising quick on them and a few of the unexperienced Jedi had looked back to see if he had fallen behind only to see him at their heels a big grin on his face.

A simple brown robe, dirtied from his time tending his gardens and his lightsaber was all the Old Knight carried. "Peaceful, yes the Ewoks are." Yvain said in reply to Knight leading their little expedition. "Though defensive they can be. Especially of their foraging areas." He had already smacked one of the younger Jedi's hands for trying to pick some of the fruits they had come across a mile or so back. "Do any of you speak their language?"

the Forest Moon of Endor was a very important place historical speaking, the destruction of the second death above it, sent the empire into a death spiral that would see to its collapse. Felix understood that but he didn't understand why the jedi were establishing an outpost on the Forest Moon, it was on the edge of the known galaxy and there was no known force nexus on the planet.

Felix looked at the two knights as teach respectively spoke, the small one asking if either of two spoke the Ewok language, he didn't know the language, they weren't Felix's speciality. "i don't knight yvain" he spoke before asking his own question "I have one question, why build an outpost here?" he hoped one of the knights would help him to understand the reasoning.

The grass of the clearing was tall but it was not difficult to navigate. "While everything in this Galaxy is capable of violence, yes, this tribe is mostly peaceful. Though we should not underestimate them, they are primitive but quite intelligent," he commented.

"I don't not," he said, folding his hands in front of him as they approached the village. "Though a protocol droid has been left here since the last time I have met with them," he said.

"Do you not agree with the decision to place an outpost here?" he asked, turning to face Felix. "Why do you think we have chosen here for a location?" he asked inquisitively. He had not been a fan of everything being turned back at him while he was growing up, but there was a benefit of thinking through questions instead of being given answers. Besides, it was much more fun on this end of the questioning.

They approached the village, a nearby ramp led into the tree canopy where the village resided. Two Ewok guards took several steps forward and pointed their spears at the trio, speaking in a language none of them understood.

Soren held his hands, speaking the words "Friend" and "Meeting" as best he could pointing to the village above.

The Ewok language was one of those that the Old Jedi Knight had not learned during his time across the galaxy, he had rarely visited the planet and even so it was for a short time. "Unfortunately, I do not." He said pottering up behind the others. The question about the outpost was an interesting one, Yvain was curious about Soren's answer, though he did not disagree about the Jedi Council's decision on the matter he was concerned they were spreading themselves to thin.

He watched as Soren introduced himself to the Ewok warriors at the gate, Yvain spotted a young Ewok about his size and smiled giving him a small wave which was returned in kind. At least he wouldn't have spend all his time looking up here.

felix thought on his question again, he was hoping the knight would've answered but he would give it another think. he would stay close to the two knights following in step with them.

"well, it's not that a disagree, a presume theirs a good reason for an outpost here I just don't know the reason, is it do with the unknown region? Endor sits at the edge of it so it would be a good place to launch expeditions into it." it was an educated guess. hopefully, he was roughly on the mark otherwise he had no clue why they had an outpost here.

The Two Ewok guards would speak a few words to each other before giving a call and letting jedi pass up ram and into the village proper. they would greeted by the chief and a bronze coloured protocol droid stood next to him.

The proud Ewok guards escorted them up the ramp into the tree canopy. "Endor is out of the way, it could serve as a good place to train or to fall back to if needed. So there is strategic value to move, but it is more than that," he said, closing his hands together as they continued to climb.

"Search the surrounding area with your feelings." he said, reaching out a hand around them. "This world, these people, are in balance. The Order needs places like this so we may remember who we are, and what we are here for," he said.

Before further discussion could take place, they reached an opening where the chief sat on a makeshift throne. Soren bowed deeply. "Chief Towani," he said in greeting. "Thank you for welcoming us back," he said, letting himself straighten.

The Ewok Chieftan and Jedi conversated, protocol droid translated as they went. The chief was open to the idea of a relationship between his tribe in the Order, but he wanted the Jedi to prove themselves. He explained there was an event their tribe every year where young warriors took to rafts and raced down the nearby river. It was a chance to show bravery. Chief Towani invited them to participate in the race.

Soren bowed again. "We, of course, accept your invitation," he said with a smile. The chief clapped his hands excitedly, clearly pleased.

He turned to his fellow Jedi "Hope neither of you have any issues getting wet." he said, winking.

"There is definitely a peace to this world Soren, I agree there." Yvain replied closing his eyes and taking a deep breath of the Endorian air, for some reason he always enjoyed the smell of a forest, perhaps it just reminded him of simpler times. A smile crept to his lips as he heard the droid begin the translation about the upcoming race. He knew Soren would accept and if not, Yvain would anyway, what's life without a little fun.

"I am all for a little fun, though I do wonder how you two are going to float?" He said referring to the obvious size difference between the pair of humans and Yvain and the Ewoks. "You may need to craft yourselves some bigger rafts rather quickly my friends. Or be left in the dust by the Green Flash." He finished with a giggle.

Felix reflected on rel's comments, closing his eyes, his breathing as he reached out with the force, trying to ignore the constant ringing in his ear. There was peace to this world, a quiet balance with the Ewoks way of living. Felix nodded in understanding and agreement with both of the knights.

Felix kept quiet whilst Rel spoke to the chief, watching and learning from two knights. When they mentioned proving themselves, Felix fought they would taking care of a threat or a problem for the village, a boat race wasn’t what came to mind.

"I can swim no probelm" he replied, this seemed like it could certainly be fun, he hadn’t done something fun in a while come to think of it he had too focused on his training.

" I’m sure I and Rel can make something quick"
