As a rule for the past few months I have tired to avoid discussing the new timeline and thinking about it, in order to focus on having fun with the current one until it finally ends. To be honest for quite sometime I didn't know if I would stay on after the finale. Mainly because I wasn't sure of what was in store afterward and I grew quite attached to the stories and characters I created since late 2013. Yet I accept the truth that the current storyline will end and I am really look forward to this new realm of possibilities presented with this upcoming series.

For me it's like preparing to finish up watching a great anime show and get ready to try out another one that shows great promise. Thank you Admins and everyone involved for working so hard on this new project, you have sealed the deal in convincing me to stay. Beside, I love writing and hanging out with you all, my friends here on the forum. LOL!

Wow, I can tell the effort you guys put into this, what a great storyline that I cannot wait to be a part of. I know I'll spend all winter break, getting my character ready. Great job!

Oh man, I'm so glad I'm gonna be around for this! Knowing Indie factions are going to have some play room gives me a lot of great ideas.

Thanks for the info, admins! Looking forward to seeing what else is going to be revealed!

You know it's funny, prior to the details brought out here, I was 90% sure that I was mostly going to play with indies, and keep out of the mainstream. But now, I think I'm actually finding the featured main factions incredibly attractive to the point that I'm more interested in creating characters for them at the moment. Great jobs, staff!

I too want to thank the staff for their dedication and hard work. I appreciate you and all the hard work you do.

My question is in regards to the tech available to the main factions. Are there plans to release what vessels, fighters, weapons etc that are available to each faction?

Thanks again!

That will likely be worked out in the think tank.

This sounds marvelous, and look forward to reading further developments. I'm still new here, and although I'll have to create a new character I'm already enjoying the potential for the future with the timeline! Might be forward, but if here's room in the think tank or anything like that I'd be honored to help. (Shameless way of begging: PWEASE LET ME JOIN AND DO STUFF)

Force Powers are going back to the "bread and butter" days, too, correct? As in telekinesis, telepathy, senses, jumping/speed and for baddies, lightning? I feel like I recall reading that before, that a lot of the exotic Force powers were being put back on the shelf

Not to toot my own horn (or the horns of the rest of the staff), but honestly this is the most excited I've been about a timeline since...well honestly I can't remember. Personally I love this setting that we're creating - not just for the era it's in, which is a major point in galactic history that is so crazily open-ended that all possibilities are valid...butwhat I really love is that we've created a setting where each faction has some serious potential for inner conflict as well as outer conflict.

I think this is the first time that we've done a setting where main factions are weakened, vulnerable and with some serious flaws built into their very existance, and that creates a really interesting setting. Can the Jedi overcome their own newfound bloodlust, or are they doomed to fall? Can the Sith create a new Golden Age from the ashes of their broken civiliation? Can the Republic survive itself, let alone the impending invasion? These are really exciting prospects for me, and I'm really interested to see where you, the members go with these scenarios.

Just a quick question. The staff is aware that Darth Bane is canon?

Hey, since this is a new timeline, can I just be safe in assuming that Dromund Kaas is still a Sith planet with a big city on it with Sith Lords and stuff? 'Cause, I'm starting my first character, and I'm just going to have him be in this new timeline. Good thing I didn't write him for the previous one. Phew.

This takes place before the time of Darth Bane. Think of it as the last great conflict before Darth Bane and the Rule of Two.

At this stage it's difficult to say since it's in something of a gray area (as we're still discussing Sith territories and the like). At this stage I'd probably say that it should probably be fine, but keep an open mind in case that changes as well.

Sorry I can't give a clearer answer on this, as it's kind of dependant on circumstances we're still actively discussing.

I was the same for a while, @Minuteman75 I was fresh out of high school when the reboot was announced and I wasn't too pleased about the news. Having thoroughly enjoyed my characters throughout this timeline, I'm more than ready to say goodbye. I'm thrilled for a fresh start and to start writing in an entirely new setting. Much like how I felt when the new films were announced, I didn't like the idea at first, but as soon as I saw the first trailer I was overjoyed to see something so new.

I probably won't begin work on my characters until I actually see The Force Awakens, because I'm sure it will overwhelm me with all sorts of inspiration.

That's alright with me. As long as I'm pretty safe, I think I'll go ahead with it. If something happens where I can't use Dromund Kaas in this manner and I've already started, I'll just think of a creative way to retcon anything to do with the planet while maintaining the character info and arcs.

Thanks for the reply.

Looks like the Dark Times are going to be some of the best times. I'm going to have to do some revamping to Jett but I really like where this is going. Thanks to the Admins and soon the Think Tank.

A few Hutt questions!

- this timeline is before SWTOR, so naturally the planet Hutta and Nar Shaddaa are not wastelands, and have other life on them - (also Nar is not one massive city) - is this "canon" in this timeline?

- has the Treaty of Vontor been signed?

- are the Hutts crime lords like the modern ones we know, or "Moguls" - aka: Mongolianesque territory snatching warlords?
