"Ofcourse, ofcourse. I was simply thinking out loud Master."

Ocih sat down and centered himself again, watching his master place the cubes on the ground of the garden.

"No, I dont believe I have any questions. What shall I be learning next?"

"I will teach you to redirect the Force's flow to affect changes to the environment around you. This is, most simply described, a mind over matter exercise." He gestured with two fingers of his right hand, and the cubes lifted from the ground to hover a few inches above the ground.
"Remember, through the Force all things are connected. You and the cubes are connected. Size does not matter, if you believe you can do it." Alaan nodded and his own body rose from the grass as well.

"I want you to lift the cubes and hold them stationary for as long as possible." Alaan said as he and the cubes returned to the grass. "You may lift only one at first, if you wish."

Ocih watched as the cubes lifted off the ground, hovered, and then returned back to their original spot.

"Seems simple enough, although if I do something, it wont be half-hearted with only one cube. I guess giving a hundred and ten percent is something that a military academy instills in you.

Focusing on the cubes, Ocih first imagined them in his head rising and hovering off the ground. After concentrating, Ocih lifted his hand and watched in amazement as both cubes lifted a few inches off the ground. Seconds passed before the cubes came back down.

"Not too bad I hope."

"Very good," Alaan said.
He was actually quite impressed, but now the training was going to get a little more intense. He would begin to teach Ocih Force Push and Pull, and then Force Jump.
"Try something bigger now. Choose, then levitate the object of your choice for as long as you can."

Ocih smiled at his master. Centering and focusing on the objects in the garden, Ocih found himself focusing on larger rocks. Attempting to hold each one in mid-air longer and longer, he grew tired. Sure, these werent large rocks by any stretch of the imagination, but to Ocih this was hard work.

Finally, Ocih found a larger rock in particular he would test his skills on. Levitating the rock in the air, Ocih pushed it around the room slowly before letting it fall back to the garden floor.

Alaan had returned to his floating meditation, waiting calmly while Ocih practiced.
The rock that his pupil had been lifting fell back to the ground with a thud, bringing him out of his meditation.

"Very good Ocih. Now, what have you learned of the nature of telekinesis so far?" He wanted to hear what his padawan thought of using telekinesis. Then he would be able to give Ocih a more natural approach to increasing his jumps with the Force, as well as Force push and pull.

Ocih listened intently on his master's question. Meditating on the question, Ocih opened his eyes and began to raise a rock through the air with the force.

"Well, we discussed before that the force is everywhere and in everything. The Jedi themselves are different from most because they share a special bond with the force to the point where they may use it and harness it. Because of this, almost anything seems possible as long as one can maintain a strong enough connection with the force."

"Yes, that is correct," Alaan said. He stood up.
"A Jedi can use the Force to change the physical environment in more ways than simple levitation. Another use of the Force is to 'push' or 'pull' an object. This is accomplished by what could loosely defined as a 'telekinetic burst'. I want you to use this for the next exercise." Alaan indicated a rather large boulder nearby, something that would be difficult for Ocih to lift but not to push or pull.

Ocih looked hesitantly at his master. Looking at the rock, Ocih realized that nothing was impossible and focused on the rock again. Looking at it, Ocih used the power of the surrounding force of the rock to pull it towards him slowly. Trying to do the same thing, but opposite, Ocih pushed the rock back into it's original starting place

"As the Force can be used to move other objects, so it can be used to move the person using it. A Jedi can levitate himself, though in most cases this requires more concentration. It is not practical in a mission point of view, however, the Force can be used to augment a jump to far beyond what is normally possible." Alaan stood and motioned for Ocih to follow him.

"We will now begin a more physical aspect of the Jedi training," he said as they entered the Temple.

Five minutes of walking later they were in a training room. The room that Alaan had chosen was rather large, with a high ceiling. Inside was an agility course, with pillars, high beams, and climbing walls. The floor was made of a soft material that gave slightly under their feet as they stepped inside. This room was set up in such a way that injury would be minor, even from a fall of over three meters.

"Now, please use what you have learned of Telekinesis and Force Jump to reach that beam," Alaan indicated a balancing beam suspended from the ceiling. The beam was near several pillars and other obstacles. Alaan wasn't expecting his pupil to immediately understand Force Jump and leap straight to the beam. He wanted Ocih to use problem solving skills and the aid of Force Jumps to complete the exercise. This was to help reinforce the mentality of thinking 'out of the packing crate' in order to complete objectives.

"Interesting" Ocih thought out loud as he was following his master into the new room. Listening to the next set of his instructions, Ocih immediately began to scan his surroundings. If at all a problem, Ocih could use the pillars and beams as an aid in trying to reach the beam up in the celings. If Ocih wasnt able to use force jump that well, climbing would also present itself as an option for part of the challenge.

As Ocih contemplated over his options, he focused on the room and concentrated. Thinking about the rocks he picked up previously, he now just substituted them for himself. Jumping in the air, Ocih harnessed the power of the force and received a few extra feet in his jump, landing on a pillar 5 feet above the ground. Noticing that the beam was still very high up from where he was standing, Ocih jumped and grabbed onto a climbing wall where he was able to climb a few feet higher. Standing on top of the wall, Ocih spotted another pillar about 8 feet above him. Once again Ocih concentrated and jumped, putting all his focus into the jump. Rising in the air, Ocih landed on the pillar in not the most graceful fashion.

The top beam was closer to where Ocih was now, perhaps two more jumps away. Ocih jumped onto a beam 8 or so feet above him. Jumping on the climbing wall, Ocih climbed a few more feet and stood on the wall. At last, the beam was in reach, a few feet away. Jumping, Ocih landed on the beam and balanced himself.

Alaan nodded in approval, then leaped into the air, off of a nearby pillar at an angle, and landed on the beam with his student.
"A Jedi is agile; this agility comes in part from physical training, but also from the Force. A Jedi must be quick and precise in their movements."
Alaan gestured and a number of small blocks rose into view, hovering near Ocih.

"I would like you to use what you have learned to dodge these blocks. Do not fall off of this beam."
He nodded and the blocks closed in fast, they would merely sting however if they actually struck Ocih.
"Begin."

Ocih smiled. Atleast some of his training from the Academy at Coruscant would come in handy now. Concentrating, Ocih prepared himself as Master Korre sent the blocks flying towards him. Ocih balanced himself on the beam and used the force to push the first few blocks out of his way. The next volley of blocks came towards Ocih and he jumped high above, not high enough though as the highest block grazed his boot. Ocih landed on the beam, finding balance he began to juke and dodge some of the blocks without the force.

Watching more come at him, Ocih jumped again but it seemed like the blocks adapted to what he was doing. As Ocih jumped above some blocks, others went higher in the air to hit him. Using the force, Ocih pushed these away and landed on the beam again, almost losing balance. Dodging the blocks on the beam again, swaying left and right, ducking down and jumping up, the pressure never ceased as the blocks kept on coming. Once again Ocih jumped above a few blocks and used the force to deflect more coming his way. As he landed, noticing that only a few blocks remained, Ocih used the force and pushed them towards the wall, away from him and the beam.

"You have an excellent grasp of agility. This will serve you well." Alaan said as he ceased the exercise. "Balance and agility can save your life in many missions, I can attest to that as both a mercenary and as a Jedi. Metal slugs are hard to deflect with a lightsaber, truly a brutal weapon. But if you are agile enough, you will be able to simply dodge, using the Force as your ally." Alaan sat down in a meditative posture.

"How do you feel about learning Force speed?" he asked.

Ocih thought on the matter for awhile. It is an interesting idea, I think I would like to learn.

Ocih sat quietly and meditated on the matter.

"At its most basic, Force Speed is using the Force to increase reflexes and thought. It can increase the speed at which your body can move. You must attune your senses to the Force in order to use Force Speed."

Alaan indicated a bin that was located on the floor on the far side of the room. In between were a number of obstacles and pillars.
"I would like you to retrieve a lightsaber, or two, from that bin. These will be used for training later, so choose wisely whether you will learn one or two blade combat."

He sat in a meditative posture, and drew on the Force. He exerted his telekinetic control, and seventy blocks rose from the floor. Ocih would need to use Force Speed as well as the other things he had learned thus far in order to complete this task. He would most likely suffer a few bruises, but this would help Alaan to teach him Force Heal. Alaan closed his eyes and focussed, dropping into a deep meditation. In order to control this many blocks, he needed absolute concentration.

"Begin," he transmitted telepathically as some of the bricks moved in quickly.

Ocih saw several blocks coming in fast and used the force to push them away from him. Trying to regain balance on the beam, Ocih concentreated and focused his mind on the task ahead, and on the force. Jumping down from the top beam, Ocih landed on a pillar and heightened his reflexes as blocks came speeding in. Moving his body, dodging and juking with the help of the force, the blocks moved past Ocih harmlessly. Ocih ran and focused on the power of the force, aiding his legs and giving him more speed. At the end of the wall Ocih jumped and landed on a pillar. Before he could notice though blocks were coming from out of nowhere and Ocih was too late in trying to deflect or dodge them. One block hit Ocih square in the chest and another hit Ocih on his leg.

Losing balance, Ocih fell off from the beam up in the air. Collecting himself, Ocih used the force to pad his landing on a lower pillar. Pushing more blocks away, Ocih used force speed to run a few more beams lower. Blocks closing in, Ocih once again used the force and sped up his reflexes, trying to dodge the blocks that were either going to pass him by or pass through him.

As Ocih jumped down, almost near the ground, another block came out from nowehere and hit him on Ocih's leg. Losing focus, Ocih missed the pillar and ended up hitting the floor instead. Pain was growing in Ocih's body. I gotta finish this bloody task, I cant give up now. He thought. Im a soldier, I can take a little pain

Limping now to the bin, and pushing the last of the blocks away from him, Ocih reached in a pulled out a single saber for himself.

As Ocih reached the bin; Alaan relinquished his control over the blocks, allowing them to drop harmlessly to the floor. He was proud of his pupil, Ocih had adapted quite well to the pressures of this portion of the training. He could sense great potential in the former guardsman, and anticipated excellent results in the man's lightsaber training.

"Excellent work Ocih, please return to me with the practice saber."

Ocih walked back to Master Korre, training saber in tow. Now I can do something I have had previous training for He thought, similing

"So, would you like to see why they think of Coruscanti guardsmen as some of the best in the world?"He joked.

Deep down though, Ocih knew this wouldnt be an easy fight. But, learning lightsaber combat was a necessary thing for a jedi, and so Ocih would learn just as he had learned to fight with basic weapons at the Academy.

Alaan smiled slightly.
"We will momentarily, but first, tell me of your bruises. Anything serious?" Alaan was ready to teach his student Force Heal.

"Through the Force, a Jedi can influence the cells in their body to regenerate and repair at a faster rate than would normally be considered possible for their species. I would like you to do so before we begin your saber training."

Alaan took his sabers from his belt and set them to training mode for later.

"Besides, what with these training sabers, you'll be glad to know Force Heal later on," he added.
