It wasn’t often that Jace took time to just wander off instead of working a job. Credits were always tight when the Mandalorians were fractured like this. Each clan had its own agenda and Kryze was no different. The elders put pressure on the clansmen to generate more credits as everyone prepared for winter and scarce food. The G’wenee job had netted a hefty amount of credits thanks to delivering multiple bounty targets and Jace was able to take some time off.

He hadn’t been on Krownest before, but when Hauron mentioned it he grew curious. He knew the planet housed the ancestral home of Wren, though much of the complex was damaged from civil wars of the past. And of course, Jace certainly liked having an excuse to spend time with the other man.

Jace stepped off his ship, having agreed to meet Hauron here. He navigated through a storm to land here and he took a moment to admire the blizzard. Jace didn’t mind the cold and he rarely saw snow. His armor offered some protection against the harsh elements, though he felt chilled to his bones all the same.

He plodded through the fluffy snow briefly before one of his heavy boots broke through a layer of ice. He cursed in both Mando’a and Basic, attempting to yank the leg out of the icy water below. His heavily armored form was not exactly well adapted to an icy terrain.

Hauron was glad to be the Group Leader of Rancor Squadron. He felt it allowed him to be his own boss and only answer to himself. But there was a pressure he had become more aware of with age of family expectations. It had been difficult for the young mikkian to understand the civil war between members of House Solus but as time went on things had become more clear.

Krownest was his father's homeworld and a place that Hauron had occasionally visited. It had become familiar enough to him for it to be navigated with relative casual ease. Mikkia would be one home to Hauron but Krownest would be another just as Mandalore was. He felt blessed to be able to call so many places home.

The natural landscape was beautiful if not a bit harsh. It was an ideal Mandalorian world in Hauron's opinion and he was glad to share it with Jace. The rally master had invited the man after G'wenee hoping that they could continue to enjoy one another's company a bit longer.

The two had been met with a blizzard as they arrived but Hauron had assured Jace they were in the right area. It was hard to tell where the other mandalorian parked his ship and the storm was getting bad enough that the Solus knew he needed too or risk crashing.

The badger trudged out into the snow to meet Jace at a trot. He carried one leg over the other to break through the fresh snow until he came into sight of his partner. <"Hey! Careful. That's a lake!"> He detailed the obvious and tried to catch up to the Kryze before he continued walking any further and risk plunging beneath its surface. He placed a hand on Jace's shoulder to pull him towards what was guaranteed shoreline.

It was hard to tell with all of the snow flying through the air but ahead of Jace there was a complete lack of trees. Grav-ball fields of open space was covered by nothing but snow and hidden beneath it was hopefully a thick layer of ice. Around and behind them were trees, indicating they were still close to the edge of the lake. Hauron only knew it was a body of water from having been here before.

In the distance a few howls echoed over the wintery weather. Another reason Krownest was a good place to live were the ferocious animals that lived on it. They would be best served making it to the Covert or returning to their ships. Even a fully armored mandalorian would be testing their luck out in the wilderness of Krownest for a full day. There was no telling how long the blizzard would last either.

Jace briefly considered simply flying through the blizzard, but Hauron caught up to him to help him out. How the hell did the Solus navigate the ice so easily? Kryze kept walking, cursing under his breath almost the entire time. Once he heard the howling, while Hauron saw it as a positive, Jace was even more pissed.

“You know, I was thinking you were bringing me out for a nice, romantic outing,” His modulated voice rang out with a hint of amusement, “I feel like I’m on the set of a nature survival show,” Jace stated as they finally made it to the other side of the lake. The snow was fluffier and deeper here, and he began to be able to tell the difference between the different terrains.

He briefly took off his helmet, letting the icy wind brush his skin. It was almost refreshing. As painful as the air was, it was clearer than anything in Hutt space. His breath came out in wisps as his emerald gaze panned over the horizon. He could see the sun beginning to set, casting the sky into a brilliant tapestry of vivid colors across a broad palette, “Wow,” Jace remarked, taking it all in, “Don’t see that everyday..”

Jace turned to look at Hauron, “So what’re we doing here? Hopefully something that doesn’t fuck us up like our first meeting,” He smirked, recalling their very disastrous experience on G’wenee. He couldn’t entirely complain, however, because the quiet moments were memorable.

"Think of it as an enforcer of privacy." Hauron answered with a smile and a shrug. He usually tried to have a positive attitude and Jace certainly helped bring it out of him. "Not many people want to deal with this cold. But don't worry. we're going to get warm soon enough." The Solus guided the pair across the lake and it was not long before his Kryze companion adapted to the terrain.

The worst of the blizzard passed and the rest of the winds were broken by cliffs and trees. Clouds passed and cleared enough of the horizon for a picturesque sunset. Hauron took out a hand held pict-recorder and grabbed a snapshot of the moment. "Yeah."

He was not brave enough to take his helmet off at first. He was about to take a picture of the hybrid man and his beautiful green locks. His helmet was off and in the golden hour he had the perfect lighting. His heart began to beat faster as he saw the Kryze looking stunning. But he had a better idea. "In a minute. First, take a picture with me, handsome?"

After Hauron put away the pictrecorder he would explain what there were doing there. "Well I was hoping to show you my home and introduce you to some of my friends and family if you feel like it. But there's plenty of planet for us to have time for just the two of us if you'd prefer to have some alone time." He knew this could be a lot depending on what Jace was comfortable with and wanted to give him options. He doubted they would have much trouble aside from maybe a predator if they stayed out in the wild. There was the usual nature of badgers that both Jace and Hauron had to worry about.

Jace was staring off at nothing when Hauron asked for a picture. He grinned at Hauron before leaning while the Mikkian still had his helmet on. Jace took a selfie with him giving him a kiss on the side of his helmet where Hauron's cheek would be for the first selfie before letting Hauron take off the helmet for the remaining selfies. However, that first one would sum up their helmet preferences the best.

“Family?” Jace asked, “Like…the Kotii Solus?” He blinked, suddenly feeling a sense of panic. The guy was Dar’manda and had a lot of haters, but Jace knew the man was practically legend. Hauron’s impressive resume was outdone only by the guy that somehow survived Nor’baal the Hutt after shooting up his place.

“Let’s meet your folks,” Jace said, “After that think I can take you out on a romantic date where we hunt a scary beast?” He asked with a wink and grin. Part of why he enjoyed hanging around Hauron was because he could mix his thrill junkie habits with a bit of romance. Jace couldn’t imagine ever relating as well to traditional romantic scenarios without the thrill of adventure.

Jace's kiss made Hauron blush so when he took off his helmet his cheeks were already a deeper shade of blue and closer to purple. He smiled widely in each of the pictures they took. He would cherish the memories forever.

"Y-" He stopped as Jace continued. "Oh...um...no. My buir is a bit busy actually. Sorry." He worried that Jace had been hoping to meet the man. "Maybe next time? I can tell him the next time I see him if you want." He was also slightly surprised that Jace wanted to meet him.

"But you can meet my grand parents. They should be here. I told them a bit about you so they're expecting us. I know how that sounds. They're chill, no pun intended." He gave his lover a smile before finally putting his helmet back on. "...And we can definitely hunt a scary beast." He made sure to add that last part.

He turned to continue walking towards their destination but posed a question for his handsome companion. "Did you want to meet my parents? Because I can ask them to get together. I just...don't want to move too fast and make you uncomfortable. Tell me if I make you uncomfortable, please." He wondered how far Jace wanted to go with this relationship. A lot of this was uncharted territory for Hauron and he did not want to scare the man off. He was still processing how he felt as things changed in the galaxy around him and how he was changing. It was not an easy thing to get Kotii Solus and Mysha Kelborn into the same room either. It was sure to cause some drama.
