Yes although a number of people ive met online have actually become friends of mine IRL. Although they already knew some other friends of mine.

The short answer is yes.

I think in this day and age with social net works and all its nearly impossible not to bond with a few people over the net...it can be risky I suppose but its nice to get on the computer and share a conversation with people who have similar interest who you wouldn't normally meet.

Some people however act vastly different on the internet, I myself wear my heart on my sleeve in any setting and What you see is what you get...what I type is what I mean and I would say it to you if I could- not many people can make that claim...some are a lot shyer.

I would never have a romantic realtionship with someone over the internet ( I don't understand that....) but I do think its fun to have those bonds that cross distance.

But.

Internet friendship is a world different form actual friendship.

Sure, I spend lots of time playing video games and I could call many Regs friends simply because we have such a good time playing TF2 together. I've met a few people irl and most of the time they come of differently in real life. Every instance of meeting a friend from the internet and then conversing irl has bred a positive relationship.

I think it's normal. The only reason I tend to lack online friends is that I will often forget the internet for school, or occasionally lose the internet. That, and the fact that I suck at making friends. /__ See that? It's a full stop. The end of a sentence. No more clauses.:CCry2:

There are a few people who I would consider friends.

Most of you are wankers though and I wish you nothing but ill tides.

I may be a wanker but there is no need to wish ill tidings upon my wanking.

This.

Though I only consider some of you friends. Everyone else is an associate or aquaintence.

Mulluns is my best online friend.

And Roger Federer and David Beckham are my friends on Facebook.

I say yes as a general answer to the question. However, I don't consider people online friends. Good aquaintences yes; but I really only consider friends people you know in person and have spent time with.

I agree with Loki Toki.
