(OOC: Open to any force user (Jedi, Rogue, or Sith) who wishes to have a duel. Characters DO NOT die when the duel ends, so have fun. This thread is open until another person joins. I want this to be a 1v1 fight, so if someone posted before you please don't join. PM me if you want a duel that badly.)

Mura slowly walked through the forests of Endor. It was noon, and the sun shined directly above Mura, though it was blocked by the tree's, Mura could still feel the sunlight touch his pale face. Mura had been searching for days now for what the force tells him was a powerful opponent, one that could teach him how to become a better fighter not by being his Master, but by being his opponent. Mura was anxious, he had spent several days in the forest now, and with each passing moment he could feel a greater disturbance in the force. Mura forced himself to calm down and focus on the task at hand.

Murra had been walking for days, stopping for several hours during the night for sleep and food, until the force finally led Mura to a clearing, there were no trees, the ground was all shin high grass with several large rocks and logs scattered about. As soon as Mura entered the clearing, he knew this was were the force had been guiding him for the past several days... He knew this was the place he would face a powerful enemy, and if the force did not fail him, he would leave an even more powerful grey jedi.

Murra walked to the center of the clearing and crouched on his knees, he began meditation. He sat there for what seemed like seconds, but when he regained a conscious state he realized the sun had began setting. Mura immediately realized he was not alone anymore, he could sense a powerful force user approaching, no doubt the one the force had guided to him.

Mura stood on the rock and removed his brown robe. The brown force user robe covered his entire body, head to toe, and when Mura removed it he revealed himself to be a young, physically fit Mirluka. He wore light green force user armor, it once had the jedi order symbol on it, but mura had scratched it off the chest piece. His armor was light, it was designed for fast and silent moving force users. It allowed more manuverability but cant take several large hits. Besides his armor, murra wore a simple blue cloth to cover the holes in his face where his eyes should be. 2 Identical Blue lightsabers hung at his sides. Mura removed a small sack from his belt that carried a basic first aid kit, a survival kit, and a holocomm unit so he could contact his ship when he had completed his mission. Mura placed the sack on the ground next to his cloak.

Mura stared into the woods for several seconds, he could sense the powerful foe nearby. Mura still had no idea who he, she, or it was, but he could tell it would put up the hardest fight he had so far in his life.

"So you finally show up... Show yourself, and let our duel of fates begin!!!" Mura shouted into the forest. Murra drew both his lightsabers and held them at his side, he did not activate them, he just stood and waited for a response.

((OOC: Hey there, depending on how this thread goes (Non canon as it is) I'd love to roleplay with Mura in other threads too, we could arrange something maybe? :) ))

Well it certainly took him long enough. The Devourer had practically been blatantly advertising his presence into the surrounding forest. He ruefully admitted that he had lost patience along the way, uncharacteristically settling for such a crude method of attracting attention as opposed to his typical patterns. As ever, luck had favoured him once again. World hopping was either a hit or miss, and this was most certainly a solid strike. The Devourer closed his eyes, savoured the last mouthful of his hot beverage, and turned on the MUSIC with a nod of his head, the various speakers he had laboriously laid down and arranged around the clearing. Coming into life, the speakers played their mournful tune welcoming the guest who had finally arrived.

Don't shout so much, sit back and enjoy sweet music...

The young Miraluka would hear The Devourer's voice for the first time, in the shape a chilling drone that could only be experienced through the force as The Devourer's mouth remained enclosed by his mask. His mind was at work once more now that his spontaneous decision had yielded rewards.

From a nearby treetop, The Devourer completed removed whatever minimal cloaks he had weaved through the force. He would appear, completely visible to Miraluka now, perched on a tree some 6 metres away with his right hand still gripping onto his ceramic mug.

Fate? The Devourer chuckled audibly, loud enough for the young man to hear despite the music.

"Call it what you will, but I prefer to call it belief in oneself." The Devourer called out. He raised his right hand and let the mug slip through his fingers. Down towards the forest floor the mug dropped, finally shattering cleanly as the grass proved unable to cushion it's fall. Barely a second later, the ceramic shards would gain life. A surge in the force prompted the shards of the mug to hurtle towards Mura, 3 jagged daggers that would serve well as his final greeting.

(OOC: Sounds good to me.)

Mura finally found what he was looking for. As Mura listened and finally heard his opponent speak. He had an eerie, low humming voice. Mura could feel his word echo through the force, which was unusual. His opponent then turned on some music and told Mura to enjoy the music. Mura shook his head and muttered to himself "So dramatic.." His opponent then dropped a ceramic mug out of the tree, which in turn shattered on the ground.

Mura thought that this person either had did not care for his personal possessions, or was extremely clumsy. Mura discovered that neither of those things were the case. As the pieces shattered on the ground, Mura could sense a small amount of his opponents force powers pick up the pieces and hurl them at Mura, almost in slow motion. Mura chuckled, and effortlessly swiped the shards to the side with the force, the shards slammed into a nearby tree with a soft thudding sound.

Mura then jumped off the rock, activating his lightsabers and holding them in a defensive Niman stance. "Your going to have to do better than that." Murra whispered. He knew that the figure could hear him, so there was no nned to shout again.

So eager to brandish those flesh burning tools? The Devourer smiled, having expected no less. Fingers on both his hands curled around two different hilts. Thinking for a brief second, The Devourer decided upon one and carefully lifted it out of his sheath, a pitch black sword which looked nothing like a trendy katana. A weapon which only served to shed blood, and that only job it did terribly well. Wielding the long blade which appeared more similar to a short spear in his right hand, The Devourer nodded. Yes, he will have to do much better than that... Much better.

Standing up from his sitting position, The Devourer gently caressed the tree branches with his left hand, feeling the grooves and notches. The tree was hundreds of years old, and had witnessed a great deal as it watched over the moon with its many brothers, countless silent sentinels.

And now, it would serve only one more purpose.

His fingers tightened their clench on the tree, rippling torrents of force energy travelling down the length and collecting near the base of the tree. The tree, mighty as it is, was no match for the colliding force waves which promptly ruptured the tree's structure. Feeling the shifting of the tree underneath him, The Devourer held onto one branch and smiled at Mura standing beneath him. The tree, along with it's dangerous passenger crashed towards the saber wielding man, threatening to completely crush him with it's immense weight if he did not value his life.

Now he will dance...

Mura could sense that the devourer was using the force yet again. This time he felt the devourer focus the force on the tree, which in turn began to fall. Mura would have rolled his eyes if he had a pair. As creative as his opponent was, he wasn't nearly as fast Mura, so these clever attacks were useless. As the tree toppled towards Mura, he quickly shifted his weight to one side, and using the force to compliment his speed, he bolted to the left.

Mura moved so fast that the tree had only fallen about halfway when Mura had hit the treeline. Mura quickly jumped on the side of one tree. His feet were on the side of the tree but his body was parallel to the ground. Using the force, Mura pushed himself off the tree and went flying towards the devourer and his falling tree. With both lightsabers drawn, Mura was finally ready to go on the offensive.

Lets see you dodge this...

Seconds before Mura got to the tree, he started to spin. Mura spun so fast that his lightsabers became a virtually impenetrable wall of blue. He sliced through the tree's branches and leaves as he rocketed towards the devourer.

It was a superb demonstration of athletic ability no doubt, The Devourer would give him full credit for that. Nevertheless though he was certainly no slouch, far from that in fact given his lithe form, The Devourer was keen to continue pitting his immense force capabilities against the agile Miraluka. These feats demand very little energy, only being adaptations of telekinesis that didn't require much thinking nor maintenance. The basics were always effective when you applied them in smart situations, producing the most from using the least.

The Devourer regarded Mura as he sailed towards him. A whirling Dervish, twin blue scythes of destruction arcing through the air. Very impressive body control, and certainly looked threatening by all common means. But impressive looking was what it was. Perhaps if they were on flat ground he would have been slightly more pressed for time, but with the tree still tumbling towards the ground, he had more than enough time. The Devourer did not bother to use his hands as a visual guide this time, simply focusing his sense towards the Miralukas' legs and ankle.

If he wishes to spin, I'll be more than happy to oblige.

An invisible ring of energy enveloped Muras' ankles, binding in an instant and immediately began it's unholy twist in the same direction that Mura was already spinning. The result would be one instant huge burst in acceleration that would send Mura spinning with such velocity that he'd find it near impossible to even remember which forest moon he was on, much less hold tightly onto his lightsabers.

With that, The Devourer noted the tree's fall nearly coming to an end. Eyes still fixed onto the man in front of him, whatever his fate, The Devourer hopped off the destroyed tree with his blade raised high in his right hand. He smiled.

This was going to be fun.

Mura could yet again feel the devourer reach out with the force, but this time he was grabbing directly onto Mura... at his legs and ankles, and with the slightest flick, the devourer sent Mura flying into a violent tailspin. His lightsabers flew out of his hands due to the sudden acceleration. Mura knew that he had to turn this around somehow, or this fight would not last much longer.

Mura pushed the same way as he was already being spun. He began spinning so fast that it was difficult to see him, not that the devourer would have to because he was about to get hit so hard Mura would be surprised if the devourer stayed conscious. Mura was speeding faster than a starship, heading straight for the devourer. Then mura got an even better idea.

It's shocking I didn't think of this before... (bad pun)

As Mura spun towards the devourer, he held out both hand and began shooting force lightning out of them. The spinning automatically caused a lightning vortex.

Lets see you get out of this one...

In a flash, The Devourer's own lightsaber hilt filled his left hand, ejecting it's dark violet blade just in time to withstand the incoming lightning storm. The application of lightning did not surprise The Devourer, but the ferocity of the sudden attack did still catch him somewhat off guard. Mura's spinning motion meant that the incoming bolts were difficult to predict, forcing The Devourer to also have to form light force shielding around his left arm as the lightning approached, forcing and directing the lightning currents towards the blade itself where they dissipated.

It was a minor annoyance that the lightsabers had simply left the Miraluka's too quickly before the force lightning approached, The Devourer simply had no time to gather the fallen hilts to him as he had originally intended. Nevertheless, The Devourer suspected that the sudden explosion in force exertion that Mura was conducting would have it's toll as well, given his current disorientation, an uncontrolled constant release of energy should be quite taxing should he continue to do so.

Obviously, that was not something either of them would pay attention towards now, for Mura was still hurtling towards The Devourer in his spinning motion. With his lightsaber blade still taking full brunt of the incoming lightning, The Devourer held up his long blade with his right. An antique by some standards perhaps, but the test of time had not worn down the blade's effectiveness. Wrought and forged with both the force and artisan craft, the blade was formidable at carving through matter as capably as any lightsaber if not more suited at delivering pain to the flesh.

When Mura sailed past him, The Devourer would deliver a sharp thrust towards his stomach. Due to the barrage of lightning, The Devourer could not move forward at the moment as the shielding required his attention. But at the speed the Miraluka was travelling, Mura's own momentum would be more than enough to eviscerate himself should he continue to crash towards The Devourer and his blade with a long reach.

Mura was hoping the devourer would fall for his trick. Through the lightning vortex Mura could sense the devourer put up a lightning shield of his own and extend his lightsaber, in hopes that Mura would skewer himself onto it, like a nice Miralurka kabob. Mura wasn't going to die that easily. Seconds Mura and the lightning vortex surrounding him slammed into the Devourers blade, Mura pushed down with the force, sending him slamming into the ground. Mura hit the ground so fast and hard he didn't even bounce, only a small crater were he landed remained. The blast from the impact sent dirt, rocks and random pieces of the landscape flying, and Mura hoped the devourer was one of those random things that went flying in the blast.

Mura sat up, but almost vomited because of how fast the world was spinning around him. Mura knew that he had moments before the devourer would recover and attempt to kill him, so Mura jumped up and reached out into the force. He pulled both lightsabers back and they simultaneously slapped into his hands, but Mura was still violently dizzy, so he collapsed onto the ground again. He fought the urge to be sick and knelt down. He drew both bright blue blades and held them while he crouched, hoping the dizziness would go away before the devourer returned to finish the job.

Ah, so close and yet so far. While The Devourer hadn't really been expecting such a blunt manoeuvre to be immediately effective, Mura's tactic definitely meant that he had to respond. Still, as ever, the force was kind to those who respected it's power. By discharging early Mura had put himself out of reach from The Devourer's blade, but at the same time it gave him enough time to react in kind. Driving his heels into the dirt, The Devourer hurled himself backwards with a mighty vault, clearing the worst of the force shock wave. Still, at such close proximity, it was difficult to avoid of the debris that had been launched into the air as projectiles. Lightsaber humming in his left hand, The Devourer knew that he had missed one when a sharp stab of pain struck his head. A cut appeared above his left eye, above the protection of his mask. Small quantities of blood flowed. Various other pieces debris had struck his body too, but shallow cuts and bruises would be all that they would leave.

Landing after his jump, The Devourer inactivated and sheathed his lightsaber while his right hand held onto the long blade. Dust was yet to clear, but The Devourer could make out Mura's crouching form on the ground clearly in some discomfort. There was a certain urge to charge forward and go for the quick kill, but such volatile options could often be turned against the aggressor. Smiling and taking a few deep breathes, The Devourer allowed his energies to settle down until they were called for again. Not unlike the Miraluka still kneeling before him some distance away, The Devourer's force presence was hard to identify, neither a beacon of guiding light nor an inferno of rage and passion. Still, there would be differences between them, whether in ideals or personal dealings. One thing was obvious though, these were neither Jedi or Sith, and their powers were on full display in this clash of the force.

Having sufficiently rested, The Devourer allowed the force to flow through his body as the currents gathered for use. Through the Miraluka's force sight, he would be both shadow and light, corporeal and immaterial.

Hold onto those blades of yours tightly...

The spinning finally stopped. Mura felt a wave of nausea flow over him and he could finally stand up. There was still dust and debris everywhere. Mura could feel the force flow back into him, he was exhausted, but the devourer still had not made his move, so Mura assumed he too was resting. Thus far the entire fight had been force oriented, so Mura decided to change the pace of the fight.

Mura slowly stepped out of the crater, the dust had almost cleared and Mura could see the devourer clearly now. He could sense the force flowing back into him, and he could see the cuts and bruises the devourer had obtained from the debris storm. Mura was almost certain he looked about the same. Mura slowly activated both of his sapphire blue lightsabers, and without ever taking his line of sight off the devourer, began walking towards the devourer in a Niman dueling stance.

Niman eh? The Devourer thought as Mura approached him directly wielding the twin blades. He held a fair amount of respect for the combat form, when the practitioner has the skill and creativity to back it up of course.

His weapon of choice was still his long blade. Heavier and longer than the weapon that the Miraluka wielded, it fitted The Devourer’s fighting technique nicely. With his right hand wielding the blade, The Devourer entered a high guard in challenge. The force he was drawing on were no longer currents of rejuvenation. Like a mini vortex, an increasingly immense tide of energy was at The Devourer’s disposal, ready to act as he willed.

With his blade raised high, he waited.

My move then.

Mura took several steps forward, as if he were going to face the devourer head on. In a split second, Mura called upon the force and attempted to pull the devourer closer to him. He used his left hand to call upon the force and he pointed his blade straight forward in an attempt to spear the devourer on his right blade.

This was a risky move, and it was not his usual fighting style, but Mura knew he had to be creative to take down the devourer, and if that meant using techniques that aren't usually associated with niman, Mura would risk it.

Finally.

The energy he had been gathering will serve him well now.

The apparently direct walk was not going to surprise The Devourer, who took the time to shape the force as he saw fit as Mura approached. The instant Mura attempted to skewer him with a nifty move, The Devourer unleashed his force might properly. With his empty left hand, he drew on the energy he had spent the last while gathering, hurling a ferocious force burst towards the Miraluka. Covered with a purple sheen, the force burst was highly concentrated in power, being more than capable of shattering bone or granite alike. At this range, The Devourer would not find it likely for Mura to simply sidestep it. Though extremely quick reactions on Mura's behalf might allow him to project some form of defense through the force, the time he had would most likely to be too little to muster enough strength to immediately match or counter The Devourer's built up attack.

The Devourer watched as he released his attack, counting on the Burst to bulldoze through both the Miraluka and his threatening lightsaber in front of him.
