As Renfry crossed the bridge, she would find that she was alone. Emryc was still standing on the other side, eyeing the bridge apprehensively. He was practically clinging to one side, setting a foot on the bridge before quickly withdrawing it.

“No way this is going to support my size,” He called out to her, his eyes narrowing. The half Sephi’s massive frame had its drawbacks. It had often cost him missions that needed someone to fit into tight spaces or to chase someone into a small entrance. While Renfry happily pranced across, Emryc stared at her from the other side.

“Is there another way in?” He asked, unable to keep the discomfort from his voice. While heights seldom bothered him, walking across a huge chasm was something else. Silvers flicked down and his face betrayed how much he wanted to bolt in the opposite direction.

It took Renfry several steps before she realized that her expectation of another being shaking the rickety bridge was not manifested. She stopped to look back, seeing Emryc look at the bridge with much hesitation.

Hmm, she said as she heard his objection. She supposed it made sense. Well, no, but I could drop you on the other side, she proposed, walking back in his direction. She looked at his frame and then back at the bridge. Yeah, maybe this was a good idea.

She headed back in the direction of the ship. There's nowhere to land the ship on the other side, but I can lift off, open the ramp, and hover above the ledge on the other side, she said. From there it was just a simple drop of a few feet to the ground and she would land and cross the bridge to the other side.

Or we could try to find an alternate way to cross the chasm, she offered, but he would be able to tell by her tone of voice that she wasn't optimistic. It had once been a full, stone bridge that crossed the chasm, but that was many centuries ago if not longer.

As Renfry ran through her ideas, Emryc glared at her. It was such an intense glare that she would be able to see the subtle twitches of muscles on his face.

“Are you the Queen of Dathomir or not?” He asked icily, crossing both his arms over his chest, “Summon that stupid bat thing we flew on last time,” Emryc stated, eyes still narrowed. As much as he hated that beast, it sounded like an easier plan than maneuvering a ship or finding some alternative path that would result in their death.

Renfry's surprise at his comment was quite visible on her face. The last thing she had expected was for him to request the chirodactyl take them across the chasm. She also was far from convinced that it was any safer at all than the ship, but that was not something she was going to mention.

After a moment, her eyes lit up a bit and he would recognize that mischievous look on her face. You like him, she declared, starting to grin widely. There was not going to be any convincing her that in his own brooding way, he didn't liked the animal that had flown them around the Dathomir skyline. Like a dad who declared that he wasn't fond of the family dog but would be caught from time to time petting or cuddling with the animal despite his objection.

She didn't say anything else about it, but took several steps back, and her eyes began to glow, swirling ichor of magick swirling around her hands as well. She knelt down, placing her hands against the ground as she muttered several words that were difficult to make out.

A green flare shot up into the air and within only a few minutes, their "ride" had arrived. She smiled up at the creature and ran a hand along its fur, motioning for Emryc to come over and give it a pet as well before mounting up.

Emryc stared blankly at Renfry as she suggested that he liked the overgrown bat. The half Sephi said nothing in response, as usual, though he vehemently disagreed with the assessment. The thing was a necessity. Plus, it smelled, and Emryc didn’t like pets and animals in general. There had only been one time in his life where he had grown attached to an animal and that ended horribly thanks to the space station. Ever since then, he gave a wide berth to the concept of owning a pet. Regardless, he did find beasts far more tolerable than people.

The half Sephi didn’t do any petting, stepping forward to climb on behind Renfry. Instead of clinging to the bat as he had frantically done before, he slid his arms around her waist to hold on. Once the creature took off, he glanced down at the landscape, taking in sight of the deep chasm below and the mountains that framed all around them.

The wind brushed against his hair and he looked to the side to avoid Renfry’s hair slapping his face. While the first time he did this had been miserable, he couldn’t deny that there was something liberating about flying like this. He was out in the open and could feel the air rush through his whole body.

It was only during the landing that Emryc tensed up. He firmly clutched Renfry as the bat swooped down towards the other side of the bridge.

Renfry was certain he liked it. No question. She shook her head slightly as he opted not to give the animal a pet, but slipped atop the creature all the same, smiling slightly as he wrapped his arms around her. She knew it was strictly for practical reasons, but she enjoyed it all the same.

With several powerful pumps of its wings, the bat-like creature leapt upwards and began to fly, causing a wide smile to once again spread over her face. She loved the feeling of lying and being free.

It was a short jump before they were across the chasm, landing on the other side with the agility of a creature that was native to this world. She could feel his arms tighten slightly as they came in toward the ledge. She couldn't help herself but let her hand slide lightly against the arm wrapped around her for a moment as the creature continued to descend.

They reached the ground with a slight thump and the chirodactyl let out a short screech before mellowing once more.

Her name is Azala, she said, reaching out and giving the animal another pat before sliding to the ground again.

She headed into the temple and past the droids that had been broken and shattered during the last conflict. There were scorch marks on the floor from where the Jedi had been blown up and pieces of him still littered several parts of the floor. Though now it was mostly bones.

There were paths that led up, down, left, and right. She had gone the "up" route before, and found little of value, though Emryc's interest in ships might lead him in that direction.

There's some very old ships here, she said, motioning toward the "up" route. But I'd guess if there's interesting things in the temple, they'd be down inside, she said. The "down" path led down a long set of stairs that wrapped around the corner and would lead into a wide open cavern with a set of orbs and slots that seemed as if they would fit the orbs.
