The winds must come from somewhere when they blow.
There must be reasons why the leaves decay; time will say nothing but I told you so.
Perhaps the roses really want to grow, the vision seriously intends to stay; if I could tell you I would let you know.
Suppose the lions all get up and go, and all the brooks and soldiers run away?
Will time say nothing but I told you so? If I could tell you I would let you know.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

You never reach glory or self-fulfillment unless you're willing to risk everything, dare anything, put yourself dead on the line every time;
and once one becomes strong or rich or potent or powerful it is the responsibility of the strong to help the weak become strong.

Although Orianna was not trained when she left the Jedi, her travels have given her a great deal of knowledge over the use of the Force in many areas.

She is not yet proficient in any form of lightsaber combat.

She is a shrewd and intelligent girl, with a way of getting what she wants and convincing people that she is in the right.

Her mother taught her basic Echani kata in case she need ever defend herself.

←*→

INVENTORY & POSSESSIONS

Ancient Egyptians believed that upon death they would be asked two questions and their answers would determine whether they could continue their journey in the afterlife.
The first question was, ''Did you bring joy?'' The second was, ''Did you find joy?''

Basic utilities: commlink, Padawan robes, etc. A couple hundred credits saved up over the course of a lifetime. No lightsaber, no ship. Not even a home to go back to.

RELATIONSHIPS

Sometimes when I look at you, I feel like I'm gazing at a distant star...
it's dazzling, but the light is from tens of thousands of years ago.
Maybe the star doesn't even exist anymore.
Yet sometimes that light seems more real to me than anything.

As of yet, none.

TIMELINE

In Greek, ''nostalgia'' literally means ''the pain from an old wound.'' It's a twinge in your heart, far more powerful than memory alone.
This device isn’t a spaceship, it's a time machine. It goes backwards and forwards, it takes us to a place where we ache to go again.

It should have been a fairytale.

Everything about it was prime material for a two-bit holodrama, the kind you might mull over in the lonely 2 am space between dreams and restless sleep, the sort of fantasy that can whet your thirst for more. Despite that, all I have now is the bitter taste of defeat, and the ash-like memories of a life lost in the fire.

I’ll give you the fiction first. Taking the red pill.

My mom’s a valkyrie. White hair, white skin, striking in every sense of the word, a beauty cold as ice but with a heart warmer than a supernova. She’s an Echani handmaiden, one of the finest, graceful and bold in one lethal package. In battle she flows like water. As a mother she has always loved me more than words could convey. She’s my father’s guardian.

My father. He’s a paladin of a just cause. The last descendant of a Hapan Queen long dead, a fly weaving its way between the gossamer strands of the web that is the Consortium’s politics, dodging spiders all the while. Their love is the most romantic kind, forged through the hardship of dodging the assassins dispatched to bring his life to a bloody climax. Pulp fantasy in a holozine.

Tragedy brought the grinding gears of that quaint lie to an abrupt halt. Blue pill. The story’s over.

The halcyon days where the Echani sisterhood thrived off its own legend are long dead. My mother loans her talents to whoever’s cause has pockets deep enough to afford her expertise. Their love was a tryst gone wrong, a moment of flaring passions that spiraled so desperately out of control. That’s the truth behind a lot of these stories.

My father… the last son of a vestigial branch of the royal family that should have gone extinct generations ago. Defender of male rights in the matriarchal society he was born into. His heritage let him rise to power, but it also doomed him to an early death. There’s no room for libertine thoughts like those in the web. The spiders converged on him like vultures on wounded prey.

Even the most righteous man in the galaxy can’t survive a blaster bolt to the brain. The strongest woman in the universe can’t give life to the dead. I was maybe two years old when the inevitable happened – an old blood debt paid back, a rivalry cut short, a spark of rebellion extinguished, another meal devoured whole by the draconic behemoth of Hapan politics.

My mother coped as well as she could. Helped by some old friends of my father, she spirited me off to Coruscant, and we lived as best we could… but my mother’s past life wasn’t kind to her, neither to her body nor her mind. Fists can’t fight disease and a widow’s income can’t buy a bath in bacta. She made my life as pleasant as she could while it was within her power.

But no one’s power is without limit, and after a time, I was on my own. But fate has a funny way of finding me when I need it most. Maybe karma intervened and decided to pay me back for the wrongs it’s done me. I had known I was sensitive to the subtle ways of the Force for some time now: a tool conjured with a beckoned hand, a stray thought plucked from the air, a knack for persuasion a shade darker than normal.

The Jedi seemed like the obvious choice, but I might’ve gone somewhere else if I knew they were losing the war.

It all should have been a goddamn fairytale.

- Orianna, 1012 ABY, newly arrived at the Jedi Temple

Well. The Jedi were the obvious choice and it so happens also the wrong one. I'd barely arrived when I found out that the Sith were attacking. I came hoping for a little peace and all I got was more conflict. Right now I'm on a shuttle heading towards Anywhere But Here. I don't know where I'm going. I don't even know what I'm going to do... The Jedi gave us enough credits to get us out of town and robes to keep us warm till morning, but I've had enough of that lifestyle. I thought of going to the Sith, but I'm not that desperate yet. I'm used to life throwing this kind of shit my way. I'm just sick of it. A deathstick has never looked so tempting...

For now I think I'm going to wander. There's not much else for me to do.

Anyone that uses Emelia Clarke as an image for their character gets my insta-approval. I love the profile, though. The last two lines, to me, say it all - not only IC but OOC for a lot of people lately, lol.

Looks great! :)

This is an absolutely fantastic profile. And I agree with Cassa, the last lines are extremely powerful.

Thanks everyone. Skeleton of the profile is now complete. I have rearranged the narrative section so that it and all subsequent narratives will be in the second post.

I'd love to RP with all of you sometime. Just send me a PM/VM/a stork with a blood sacrifice.

Oh, is this profile for before the time skip or after? As in, is her age relevant now or post time-skip.

Very well-written and intriguing character, I love how quotes can be both IC and OOC.
And the character image ... <3
