Orna'Duras - Slave Girl
I grew up as a slave-girl, raised on the ships and in the palaces of the Hutts. My mother was a slave dancer herself, but by the time I was born was 'retired'. She was getting too old, but my father kept up our income and managed to keep us in our home with his accountancy skills. The vile Hutt I lived under at first was called Gorodko, a huge, swelling mass of skin and disgusting stenches. I simply couldn't fathom working for someone like that. Even as a little girl, I was taught one thing was important - power. People without power never succeeded in our galaxy, they died. By the age of thirteen I was already working, dishing out drinks at the Hutt's lavish parties. However, his balls and banquets became less and less grand as he began to lose money, and they stopped paying me. Desperate, my loving parents sent me away to work for another Hutt, a much more powerful man called Tusa.
When I first arrived on his fortress on Nar Shaddaa, I have to say I was impressed. I had spent my whole life living on Gorodko's broken down ship, but this was something else all together. This was... expensive. This was power. I settled in straight away, not that I had any choice anyhow, and began to learn from the other working women the illustrious Hutt employed. I was well fed, even educated, but I never forgot what I was - what I was considered to be. An object, nothing more, just some eye-candy. I do suppose I had always knew from a child that I was never going to be considered an equal, a person. Sad, actually, I guess, that I never considered myself a person either. That's just the way it is - I've been given my lot in life and I suppose... I'm happy with it.
I came of age just five years later, aged seventeen. I immediately began to work, having done so much training in dancing, entertaining at grand banquets and dancing at private parties. I have to say, Tusa got me under his control. I like what I do, I work hard to please my master. I do anything, from give private dancers to poisoning the coffee of his rivals at a little dinner. I suppose I just am a bit of a 'power-whore', as my lovely friend Nila once put it.
The only thing is, I'm proud of it.
