OUT OF HYPERSPACE

A HUGE CRUISER drifted in black, empty space. It was an enormous vessel, with about twelve decks. Below were the poor and the beggars, who desperately sought passage to another world. On the higher decks were the rich folks. On the middle were shops, cantinas and other entertainment facilities.

The cruiser's name was the Lightjumper. Its destination was Coronet, Corellia. It came from Coruscant.

Those onboard the vessel had only hours to live...

* * *

About five minutes ago - the cloaked man wasn't entirely sure, but it couldn't have been any more than five minutes - all the lights of the huge cruiser went out. The once so brightly illuminated ship was now shrouded in darkness. The cloaked man had heard screaming here and there. He had heard crying. Cold shivers ran down his spine as he tried to see in the dark, but his mysteriously grey eyes hadn't got used to the darkness yet.

At the moment the lights went out, he was sitting on a chair in one of the many cantinas of the cruiser, on deck six. He was about to sip from his caf, when the ship rocked back and forth and he heard a loud bang. He fell off his chair, the cup shattered on the floor. His hood had fallen off his head, but it didn't matter, because in this darkness it was nigh impossible to see clearly. Nobody would be able to see his features.

Nonetheless, he pulled his hood over his head again. He got to his feet and was dizzy for a few moments. He wondered what the **** was going on. The one moment, the ship was flying through hyperspace; the next it just floated in cold, empty space.

People around him panicked. He tried to listen if the captain of the ship would make an announcement, but as he didn't hear the captain's voice, he figured the intercom system was dead.

The cloaked man made his way to a window and shot a glance outside. He could see stars twinkle in space, but that was all. There was no sign of a ship that attacked the Lightjumper. Of course, that did not mean that there was no enemy ship, for the ship might simple be out of sight. He closed his eyes and concentrated on the Force for a while. He was not trained in the Force, and all he knew was telekinesis and how to sense others in the Force. He tried to reach out and he could sense something.

Something dark.

He quickly turned around, expecting some kind of monster to stand right behind him. Of course there wasn't, but it could've happened. If there was one thing the cloaked man had learned, it was that monsters did exist.

It took a while until his eyes got used to the darkness. He could vaguely see the contours of tables, chairs and people. He decided it was no use staying inside this cantina. He figured it was best to try and find out what the hell was going on here.

The ship dropped out of hyperspace; there was a loud bang (an explosion?); the ship rocked back and forth; all the lights went out; people panicked.

The cloaked man could still sense that dark entity. It gave him the creeps. It was true that his aura was a dark one as well, but that didn't mean he couldn't be scared...

And so he came up with a simple plan. He would try to get to the bridge of the gigantic cruiser, and he would try to find the captain. Perhaps the captain knew what the heck was going on. Hopefully, he knew what the heck was going on.

Thus, about five minutes later, the cloaked man strolled down a dark hallway, trying to find the turbolifts. He was pretty damn sure the lifts didn't work, but it was worth the try. If it didn't work, then he would have to find the stairs, and it would take a long while until he would reach twelfth deck.

He saw clueless, scared people moving about through the hallways.

One thing was for sure; this was one ****ing nightmare.

Thane Omega sat up to find himself in complete darkness. HE had been sleeping, dreaming of Eshan and his lost brother. What had woke him was not the rocking of the ship, but the feeling of something dark and menacing lurking in the shadows.

HE got out of his bed and went over to the sink to wash his face. The water did not run. He grimaced and went over to a locker and put his Mando Armor on. He grabbed his vibro blades and his nano rifle. as he slung the gun, his heart skipped a beat. The nanites must be saying hello. He walked to his door, thinking about how he end up on Lightjumper.

***

Thane Omega was on a hunt for his brother. He had been looking for years. He had been close to him before. but every time he was, his brothers captors recognized him or the Pyro and bolted. He had a heard that some of those same men from the same mercanary group were on this ship. He had went undercover as a bounty hunter and left The Pyro at home. He had kept to himself, making sure to not make anyone angry.

***

Thane walked down an empty corridor. He had chosen to stay in the "slums", the lower part of the ship, because one, he did not have enough money for the top, and two, he didnt want to draw attention.

He had made it to the shops and was trying to find the stairs. He heard glass break as looters started there routine. He ignored it. He didn't care what they did. He saw a group of thugs run after a scared to death woman. He snickered. She has know chance. He ignored that to. He was only focused on one thing; to get to the bridge and find out what the Kriff was going on.

The cloaked man stood in front of the turbolift's door. The door was shut and it would not open. Not even when he pressed the button on the panel on the wall. He stood there, with his arms down his sides, wondering how he would ever get up in the bridge.

He did not fancy taking the stairs.

He could still feel that dark presence, somewhere onboard the vessel. The cloaked man didn't know what to make of it. He had been hunting darksiders for a long time, and he had slain all those he encountered. He carried a weapon on his person. In fact, two weapons. Two sharp short swords, hidden under his cloak. He knew it was very plausible that he would need those blades.

He tried to get to open the doors again, but they remained shut.

Maybe someone with computer skills could fix this. He decided to wait sometime longer, in case someone with the right skills would stop by.

Thane had been walking down the hall, when he heard footsteps. They were not loud, actually in truth they were the footsteps of a true potential. But growing up as a experienced hunter and working as a bounty hunter, He had learned to sense even the slightest sound. He quickly looked around for a hiding spot. He looked up and saw an open vent.

Thane jumped up stealthy. He slowed his breathing. He started to do a Echani relaxation technique. He layed down and looked through the open hole. He activated his stealth generator.

He watched as the Cloaked man walked by. HE was very quiet, and his HUD told him that this man was young but experienced. His sense in the force told him that this man was tormented. The man walked out of sight. Thane sat up and followed him through the vents. He followed the man until he got to the turbolift. He saw that in front of him was another open vent. He dropped silently. The man stood at the turbolift. He tried to open it. He drew his nano rifle and pointed it at the man's chest, a spot where no man can survive a nano blast.

" Your next move will be your last."

He raised an eyebrow deep inside his hood, the gunman wouldn't be able to see it. The cloaked man glanced at the gunman for a moment, wondering what the heck this was supposed to mean.

'Okay,' the cloaked man simply said and stood still. His hands were down his sides and his face still hidden within his hood. He just looked at the man training that gun on him, without moving an inch.

The cloaked man was not afraid... on the contrary; he didn't even give a shit about that gunner. Only idiots would aim their metal on others without reason. He tried to, but failed to suppress a chuckle.

'Sorry, mate,' the cloaked man said, his voice so low that it was almost a whisper. 'Din't expect some bloke to appear out of nowhere 'n aim his gun at me. Now, there probably ain't no good reason for you trainin' that gun on me, so ye could as well jus' put that gun away 'n come help me out fix this panel. Needa go up to the bridge, ya see, but that lift's broken.' He still didn't move. He just looked back to the stranger with the firearm and spoke with a casual, naturally low voice.

Thane looked the man up and down. Then he came to a realization and he lowered his gun.

" I am sorry, this darkness has been clouding my thoughts. My name is Thane. I can fix that."

Without waiting for an answer, he pushed past the cloaked man and started to work on the elevator door. Even though the power was out, the ship should have backup power for the turbolifts, for emergencies.Just as he thought it was hopeless, the doors open to the lift. He heard the man behind him sigh in relief.

" I may have gotten the door, but the lift will be a whole other thi-" Thane stopped as he heard a noise behind him. He turned around and pulled out his nano-rifle.

"who is there?" he pointed his gun at a movement in the shadows. One of the ship's guardsmen came walking out of the shadows. Thane lowered his rifle, but only for a second before lifting it again. The Soldier looked regular, except for the fact that instead of a rebreather, he had a giant hole for a mouth, with blood all over his armor and body, and his eyes were glowing red. On his right arm, there was a giant chunk of armor and skin missing. Thane shot two rounds of nano bullets at the things chest. One missed and hit the wall behind him, turning the spot it hit into ash. The second one hit the things chest. a giant hole was left in it, but it still kept coming.

"what are you' He pulls out one of his Traycn'buurenaar "Firestorm" Repeaters and fired a full clip into the thing. It fell to the ground. Thane looked around, and saw more and more pairs of red eyes. The thing that Thane had shot a full clip into stood back up, it's head at a cockeyed angle. They all started to make a low growl. Thane pulled out his other repeater and handed both of them to the man beside him.

"what the-" Thane was cut off as the things attacked.

Horny's ship was on patrol on the sector. The ship itself was the size of a troop dropship having a couple of cells that he could detain any criminals in. His ship scanners had picked up a most unusual hyperspace jump. According to computers the ship came out of jump really in the middle of no where and he had to investigate. The ship had fallen off Horn'y scanners for some time and all he had was the last known co-ordinates. Horny's ship went right by the large cruiser and Horney did not see it on his scanners. Looking above him he is surprised to see the ship there floating in space. Her quickly looked back down to his control panel. The display quickly scanned the ship and the ship itself was on life support running only the essential powers. 'this is strange' he thought as he took the ship to look around the cruiser. Turning on his head lights he visibly scanned the ship. No signs of damage or anything else for that matter. The light from his ship went into some of the windows but he could not see anyone. His information suddenly pops to life after finally collecting the information from the ship.

'Lightjumper,
Transport Cruiser,
From: Coruscant,
Destination: Coreillia.'

'what is this ship doing here.' Horny thought as he flicked over a few switches in an attempt to hail the ship.

"This is patrol ship 104 please respond Lightjumper."

He looks to the cruiser as if expecting a reply but alas no reply from the ship. Horny doubted that the message will get through at least not while it is on essential power. He looks back to the panel and clicks a few more panels bringing up a display of the ship's layout. Pointing to the layout he thinks to himself 'I can enter through this airlock here and make my way to the bridge' he nods to himself as if to agree with his own plan. He brings his hands to the controls once more taking the ship and this time virtually landing it on one of the ships sides. Activating a magnetic look the two ships join making a huge clunk sound as they do. Horny unbuckles himself as he turns off many of the controls of the ship. 'Might as well as save power' he thought as he made his way to the back of the ship. Grabbing a space suit he snugly fits it over himself taking his rifle with him just in case. He attaches a light to the end of it and makes his way up to the airlock letting himself out of his ship. Attaching a lifeline to his ship he makes his way over to the cruiser's airlock holding the handle of it to stop him from moving when he arrived. He took the lifeline from his belt and attached it to the cruiser near its airlock. Horny notices a nearby panel but upon trying to activate finds it is receiving no power. He looks around the lock and finds a manual override to unlock the airlock, Pulling ti with all of his might he manages to open the first airlock and drift his way into the ship. He closes the airlock behind him. The cabin he is in depressurizes itself however. 'At least something is working' he thought as his feet fell to the ground. He slung his rifle around turning on the light that was on the end of it. Opening the inside door he is met by complete darkness aiming his gun ahead of him as to get some light. Horny had decided to keep the suit on in case he would need it however and it displayed a number of useful information on the wrist part of the suit like the layout of the ship and detecting life forms. He looked around seeing and hearing nothing. The ship which only a few minutes ago was alive was now a ghost ship. It just did not make sense to horny. He looked at his wrist and could see where he would need to go. He saw 2 life forms however on his wrist which were close to where he had to go he made his way towards them instead keeping his wits about him he slowly made his way towards the two.

It all happened so fast. The cloaked man didn't know where to look. What it comes down to, is that the zombie-thing now lied on the floor with severe shot wounds.

He took the repeaters Thane gave him. He looked into the hallway and saw more of them creatures appear.

'Well,' the cloaked man said, 'you'd better fix that ****ing elevator if we're to survive now. I'll cover you!'

He slung one of the guns with the strap around his shoulders, so that it hung on his back with the barrel pointed to the floor, and then shouldered the other repeater Thane had given to him. He dropped to one knee and aimed the rifle at the red eyes, that mysteriously glowed in the darkness.

'Dunno what we're gonna encounter when we're up there,' the cloaked man said, referring to the bridge, 'but there's no way in hell we're gonna be able to fight off a hole troupe of 'em monsters! Hurry!'

The cloaked man looked over the barrel of the repeater, at the approaching monstrosities. He did not fire yet, because the monsters were not attacking yet and he didn't want to unleash hell if it wasn't necessary. No, it just seemed better to stay alive, than to die in a battle with a horde of zombies.

However, he knew full well that it was only a matter of seconds before the creatures would charge at him and Thane.

Thane ran into the turbolift and started to work on the controls. He was a computer specialist, though he didn't work well under pressure. He remembered how a day before he was only worrying about spying but now he was worrying about both there lives. While he worked he tried to take his mind of what was happening outside. He wondered who this man was he was now fighting with. It will be interesting how they interact when they get out of this. . . correction, if they get out of this.

The things outside started to attack. he heard both of the rifles start to let go he needed to hurry.

The the beep of the console brought him back. His hands had been working by themselves. He slammed the console with his fist. It just was not working. He looked around for more cords or something. He saw a welded shut service hatch on the roof of the turbolift. He took out his nano rifle.

The things outside started to attack. he heard both of the rifles start to let go. he needed to hurry.

He pointed the rifle at the hatch and held the trigger and made a circle around the hatch. it fell to the floor. He looked up. He saw a service ladder attached the the far side of a wall. this was there only chance.

He ran outside and retrived one of the rifles from the man.

" the turbolift is down. we will have to climb. On the count of three we go." he started to fire into the crowd. There was no end.

'Alright!' the cloaked man shouted back, though it was not "all right". He pulled the trigger of his rifle and shot down some of the creatures. The man's heart pounded in his chest, for he was somewhat scared. He might look like the scary one himself, but that did not mean he could not be scared.

He backed away into the lift, while shooting at the monstrosities coming their way. He glanced at the ladder. They would have to climb for quite a bit, but anything was better than being shred to pieces by a bunch of those evil things. Things that seemed to be dead, but were yet walking.

'You go first! I'll hold 'em off and I'll be right behind you!' the cloaked man shouted. 'One!' he began to count. 'Two!' He shot down another of them monsters. 'Three! Go!'

He opened fire once more, providing cover for his companion. The cloaked man hoped that they would have some time to get acquainted with each other, and a safe place to rest up and make a plan. He hoped the bridge wasn't overrun by those zombie things. He hoped the captain was still alive.

He hoped. That was all he could do...

Well, that isn't entirely true; he could shoot. He could shoot those beasts down.

Thane fired of another clip before running to the hatch. He used his Echani skills to make the jump. He pulled himself up and looked around. He looked up and saw that the ladder went 10 decks up. It seemed like it was going to be a long climb.

He looked down through the hole to see how the man was doing.

The cloaked man gunned down more of the undead until his companion had disappeared through the hole. This was the moment that the cloaked man had to take a risk. If this wouldn't go as it should, those undead would tear him apart.

One of the undead charged at him and the cloaked man shot the thing square in the chest. It flew backwards a few meters, before falling to the ground with a thud.

Quickly, the cloaked man slung the rifle over his shoulder (just like the other rifle he had slung over his shoulder), and he moved towards the hole in the lift's roof. He jumped up and grabbed the ledge, then he pulled himself up.

He stood next to Thane and looked at the ladder.

'It's gonna be a looong way up,' he muttered, 'but at least those kriffin' things won't follow us up there... well, let's hope so. Are you okay?'

From inside the suspended lift, Fauxl could hear the sounds of gunfire in the shaft. Someone was alive! The shock of the revelation spurred her from her sobbing and frantic attack on the lift's door and hatch - neither of which would budge through the use of the Force or her lightwhip. She couldn't help but think she deserved this...no! She didn't. That was just stupid! This wasn't her fault. It wasn't her fault. It wasn't her fault.

Hoping the hatch panel would be easier to remove from the outside, she began to shout - hoping that over the groans of the undead and the gunshots the people might hear her. Of course, she had no idea where her lift was in correlation to them, but they should be able to hear her.

I-" Thane was a bout to respond when he heard a moan from below. He looked down and saw that the turbo lift was full of those things. The things started to pile up so much that one of there heads started to poke through the hatch. These thing must be smarter than they look.

" Get on the ladder. Now!!!!" Thane didn't wait for him to get off the turbolift. This would take care of the things for sure.Thane stepped on the ladder and held on to the it with one hand and he took out his nano rifle and looked at the gears that were holding the turbolift up. He looked to the side to make sure the man was on the ladder. He pointed the rifle at the gears and shot a three round burst at them.

There was a creak and then the turbolift made a great screeching noise. It fell down the shaft at an alarming speed. It took what felt like years to hit the bottom. When it hit, there was a loud explosion. It took forever for the light of the explosion to reach them. Thanes eyes flashed with terror. The flames would overcome them within seconds.

' Climb Now!!!!!!"

In the distance, the cloaked man could hear screaming, and he was distracted by it for a moment. Then he heard Thane's strong voice, echoing throughout the small space. The cloaked man glanced down and saw those monstrosities. When Thane told him to get on the ladder, the cloaked man didn't hesitate and grabbed the ladder. He began to climb.

Then, the whole lift fell down. It was quite an impressive thing. 'Nicely done,' the cloaked man commented, 'not very subtle, but at least you got the job done.' Then he saw light down below and he knew the flames would soon devour them if they didn't climb.

While climbing, he wondered whose screams those were.

It would be a long climb and the cloaked man hoped that he would be able to keep up. This wasn't like jogging through the park for an hour. He gritted his teeth and climbed upwards, sport for sport.

((OOC: I'm not sure about your location, Static. I just hope you weren't in that lift Commander just destroyedXD))

((Well that one was full of zeds so no. :p I was in another lift towards the bottom of the shaft, but I'll make my own way out ;)))

The sounds of the other people were beginning to fade away, when suddenly the sound of an explosion took their place. The lift shook violently, throwing its Zelosian passenger against the wall. When finally it settled, she was upside down - and bleeding quite heavily from the arm; which had caught itself on a peeling piece of metal.

"What the hell was that!?" Fauxl whispered to herself.

The sound of the explosion, however, shook her into action. Whatever it had been, it had been close. She had already tried attacking the ceiling with her lightwhip, and it had failed - mostly due to the angle being wrong. The door too wouldn't give, but then maybe she was attacking it wrong. The blast nearby had buckled the door at the top, only very slightly - but it was enough. Pulling her lightwhip from her bag once more, she threaded the weapon through the small hole, before igniting it. The effect was almost immediate - the metal of the door glowing orange and sloughing off. After a minute or so of fizzing metal, the hole was long enough for her to slide through, although she had to wait a further five before it was cool enough to do so.

She entered the corridor apprehensively. Whatever had happened to the ship was...bad - and partially her fault, and karma could be a real-

Something groaned further down the corridor, and unwilling to find out what it was, Fauxl headed in the other direction in search of some stairs. She needed to find the holocron, which had no doubt been picked up by one of the ships security teams; and then an escape pod - and both the security centre and the pods would be on the upper decks.

Thane climbed the ladder with alarming speed. He was not going to die in flames. He looked down to see how the cloaked man was doing. He was barley keeping up. Thane thought of slowing down until he looked passed him and saw the flames pass the doorway they came through. He started to climb faster. He saw a doorway three floors up open. It would have to do, since the fire would overtake in 4. He pointed it out the door to the cloaked man, and then he bolted up. He felt the heat on his but as he climbed inside. Thane went over to the door controls and started to close it. He saw the man climb in and saw the fire almost reach the door. The door closed as the fire entered.

Thane slumped to the ground against the controls. He looked over at the cloaked man. His hood had fallen off.

"my names Thane, Whats yours? and what are the tattoos for?"

((OOC: Commander, you just did some minor godmodding -- saying that I got off the ladder and that my hood's fallen off. It's okay for now, it's no big deal, but it would be best if you avoid it from now on. Please do not describe another's actions, or things that might affect your fellow roleplayer. Don't worry, I'm just saying this so you know, for now it's okay =) ))
----

The cloaked man climbed quickly and managed to get on the floor just in time. The door closed shut right behind him. He panted and sweat fell from his forehead. He wasn't even aware of the fact that his hood had fallen off - something he wanted to prevent from happening. He didn't want anyone to see his tattoos unless he needed someone to see them.

Thane told his name again, but the cloaked man figured he only said it because he wanted to know his cloaked companion's name. Then he heard Thane ask about his tattoos and his heart missed a beat. He turned away from Thane, so the man couldn't see his face (though he would be able to see the tattoos on the back of the cloaked man's bald head). He pulled his hood far over his head, so his face was shrouded once again. Then, he turned around to face Thane.

'I uh...' he began. 'They call me the Cloaked Man, though I don't like that name very much. As for my tattoos... I didn't mean for you to see them. It's kinda complicated, to be honest.'

He slung both rifles off his back and sat down beside Thane. He placed the guns on the floor and took a deep breath.

'Can't tell you 'bout them tattoos,' he said softly, 'I'm sorry. But, I suppose I can tell you my name. It's Abel. Pleased to meet you.' The cloaked man extended his hand to shake Thane's.

'So we just escaped hell's inferno,' the cloaked man went on. 'Hope the bridge's still intact, ay. Hope the captain's not ... become one of those ... things. He's the guy who's got all the codes 'n keys 'n stuff.'

He leaned with the back of his head against the wall, making sure his hood would not fall of his head again and making sure not even the slightest part of his features would be revealed to Thane. He knew the man's name, but he didn't know anything else about him. The cloaked man would work together with Thane so the both of them would be able to get out alive, but he didn't want to get so personal already.

Abel wasn't that used to company, after all.
