Palpatine's First Name

Palpatine commands a certain presence on screen that I think would be suited by traditionally strong sounding, royal names of Latin or Roman origin.

I realise that 'Sheev Palpatine', depending on how fast you say the first bit, sounds like a command to stab the Emperor with a crude knife.

How did I not see this.
