Both the Jedi and Exiles are scattered, on the run, and being hunted by numerous other groups. They wouldn't be helping militias on other worlds, at least no openly.

I'm not sure how to quote but the first post says that there are multiple Jedi on the system so I figured a couple might be on the planet. And I figured that they'd be trying to help establish some form of fighting forces to defend the planet for when the Jedi aren't around. If that's not cool though, I can edit it so my character is there for something else.
