Hyperspace
Unknown Regions

Captains Log

"Captains Log: 5.22.157 After Battle of Yavin. As per Discovery Corps protocol, leaving daily logs of the journeys of the DECS Pathfinder for our records and for the study of future generations." he started while the ship is in hyperspace, steadivily advancing towards their destination."It wasn't too long ago removed since we were pulled out of hyperspace and then beset by rather large, spaceborne jellyfish-like species that had hull eating acid." he said "Although they managed to get inside, we our response team and others put and end to our threat and we have gotten many ripe specimens. They were dubbed 'Spellies'" the term coined by @Nakoa Singh caught on, and so they are. " he said. "Crew members have made recoveries, the breach has been repaired, and the crew is in high spirits, eager to resume our mission. Astro-Navigator @Dismas Dolan Fenn picked up something an unknown here. And now we are en-route to find out what it is. "

End of Captains Log

"We will arriving of hyperspace at our set destination shortly" the helmsman on the bridge said. "Good" the good captain said. He was relieved that this hyperspace journey was without problems, the last hyperspace jump they were pulled out of it somehow and stuck in a system that had hostile spaceborne aliens in it. Hopefully this system they come in has none of that as well, or maybe they will get unlucky.

Now the Pathfinder would be pulled out of hyperspace, at the edge of the system. "We have now arrived at our destination" he said overhead.

Lance would stand up from his seat and take in the view, what got his attention were that there were five suns in the system. That's something he hasn't seen before. Does that make it a 'quintenary star system"? he asked himself.

The five stars were spread out across the system, with a number of planets orbiting them, with a total of eight. A signal came from here. "Diamas" he would ask (@Eccles). "Are you able to narrow down the unidentified object in the system from here?" he asked if there was an easy way. "Or will we have to send probe droids?" he asked if they will have to go the hard way.

Lance had to say, the view of the system from here is nice, and the others could see it from view ports from across varying points of the ship, even yet he has feelings of uneasy, as there is little known about this place. Who knows what's in here

Hello again, the next thread of the expedition! Sorry for the delay. This thread is OPEN for others to join for now as well as participants from the last thread. For people who are interested in joining in on the fun, see this initial interest check to get an idea of what the DECS Pathfinder is about. .

The dice rolled that we are doing a system not in site canon, canon, or legends. So we are now be surfing waters not treaded before. We can work together to bring a new setting to life. You can ask me if you have any questions.

Fenn would click on his lightsaber gauntlet, putting on his cloak to prevent people who were familiar with such weapons form immediately identifying him and asking questions, so far, he has managed to keep his identity as the sith champion cremek candorus a secret, though he was hoping he can at least clear his identity with the captain himself, it was in his best interest to at least have someone with authority know, so it didn't come back and bite him in the ass later, of course, he was here to provide assistance, not overthrow the captian, so far they had been doing well, and this has earned Cremeks respect as a result, he would politely seek out the captian, yes, the job opening did say that they did not care just what faction one belonged to, but the mando-sith figured it would be best to sneak on as Fenn, his alter ego. He Also wanted to humbly petition for permission to bring back samples himself once their adventure was finished.

Startled by the ship coming out of hyperdrive again, he would rush to the viewport when the captain came over the intercoms. A rush of relief came over him as he was half expecting more spaceborn creatures. Relaxing he becomes dumbfounded seeing the five stars in the system. A trinary system is rare enough let alone a quintenary one. He would gear up grabbing all his weapons and getting in his armor again. Heading to the bridge to speak with the captain. "What is the status of the system captain?" He would inquire glancing at the sensors readings. After being cooped up so long he's itching to get on the ground and explore new planets, his favorite part of being a bounty hunter.

The DECS Pathfinder had finally arrived in a new system without being assaulted by Spellies or any other spaceborne distraction. As interesting as they'd been to study and poke at, he could only stare at the same thing so long before doing something else. He was aboard as a scout after all, and he wanted to explore. At this particular moment, he was in the scout's ready room getting his gear in order between glancing over any incoming scans of the new system.

Basic things like a breathable atmosphere and terrain were important for gear selection, especially as any accompanying security couldn't lean on the Force to make up for anything missing. Sampling equipment was packed fresh into belt pouches and a carry pack. Nakoa found he'd more or less done what he could far too soon, shrugged, and left the ready room to head for the bridge.

He stepped on and find an unobtrusive spot near Arla- now Head of Security- and idly chewed on a licorice root to pass the time. At least from here, Nakoa could look out the screens at the highly unusual five-star system. It was beautiful, the mixed light from different stars washing through the window and leaving strange shadows. Worth the trip on its own.

After a first eventful day, they were able to settle into more of a routine and get settled in. Relan had soon moved from treating Spellie Venom and Decompression Sickness to much more mundane injuries. There had been a patient with a minor arc bur, another who could sleep because of the constant hum of the ship. Each problem was his own little puzzle to unravel.

He was in the medbay, watering some plants he had brought along as the ship shifted out of hyperspace. The Doctor braced himself slightly before moving to a console to bring up a screen of the external view of the ship. Five stars burned bright in the alien solar system. It was beautiful, the reason why he had been eager to sign up for this mission. He wasn't sure if he would ever get to go on any actual away missions, but he had passed his basic combat training. One could hope, at least. He didn't want to see combat, or the thought of killing anything uneased him, but he wanted to get out there and experience what they saw.

Relan watered two more plants before putting down his can. "Go watch it on the observation deck; I'll be alright here for a little bit," he said to the intern that had been assisting him. She ran off quickly, clearing noting wanting to miss the view.

As the gentle hum of the ship shifted in tone, heralding their arrival into a new system, Thalis Kryze could not help but feel a distinct quickening in his heartbeat. The previous escapades had been undeniably thrilling, and he had certainly proven his ability to adapt in the face of unexpected culinary challenges, but this time he yearned for more.

The quintenary star system that lay before them, an extraordinary phenomenon of nature, was a vibrant canvas waiting to be explored. The myriad celestial bodies, each with its own unique biosphere, represented a tantalizing smorgasbord of potential ingredients, unseen taste profiles, and untapped culinary potential. And Thalis intended to dive into this veritable cornucopia, quite literally.

Determined to seize this opportunity, Thalis found himself carefully preparing his backpack, a task he performed with almost ritualistic solemnity. His chef's knife, impeccably honed and gleaming, was safely ensconced in its sheath, ready for the journey. Next, the collection of small, sterile containers, each designed to secure samples of flora, fauna, and more exotic substances they may discover. His digital gastronomic analyzer, a high-tech gadget capable of scanning and analyzing the basic composition of food items, was packed carefully. Gloves, sterilized tweezers, and portable refrigeration units were stowed away meticulously.

Thalis' heart sang with anticipation as he zipped up the pack, the prospect of venturing out onto alien soil to personally harvest and experiment with new ingredients sending an electric thrill through him. His curiosity, a constant companion in his culinary journey, felt insatiable. He yearned to see, touch, and taste the alien world's bounty, and to let it inspire him in his craft.

Arla had a feeling that things wouldn't stay serene for long. She had looked out into the swirl of hyperspace beyond and taken some amount of solace in the relative safety that it provided, but more chaos would be coming soon enough.

For the moment, though, she didn't concern herself with that. Her time instead had been focused on meditation. Dathomir felt so far away when she was out here, but it was ever-present: burning inside her and still present so very far away.

Her eyes flicked open to give a few more glances to the ship's security cameras for any signs that anything was amiss, and pondered who they would send out on the ground expedition. She had to admit her curiosity was at least a little bit piqued about what they would find and if the planets would be habitable.

When asked what was the status of the system by the on Mandalorian. @Javier esschoolbus "We've only scratched the surface. But everything seems quiet. No signs of jellyfish, or any other spaceborne-aliens" that's a relief

Priam launched Pathfinder launched probe droids, the science vessel moved forward from the edge of the system, the probe droids were launched to all the planets, close to the five suns as possible without burning up, and adrift in the vast void of space. Truly the five suns were a beautiful sight. What all it means scientifically and the implications of such, is something the folks in the lab are analyzing right now.

All is fine, it would take awhile, after all space is big, but captain would get an alert. "Captain, one of our probes found a structure in orbit of one of the planets. It looks like a space station." Oh. "Put in onscreen"

IMg1rcw.png

The captain jaw almost dropped, he's never seen that kind of architecture to it. "Take us in" he would order.

The DECS Pathfinder closed in on the space station. "Run scans on it. Try sending a communications." he would order. The station looks powered on. There would be no response to the communication, and he would get a result about scans. "Captain, something is interfering with scans of lifeforms". But that can't be right. Hmmm

The Captain Priam would then ask if there is a hangar or a place to dock. Not seeing a way to dock, but seeing a hangar bay. The next course of action is clear. "Have our exploration and security team get their gear and then meet us."

Priam would then be awaiting nearby a shuttle as scientists are mobilizing inside and other crewmen are loading equipment into it. He and the scientists would be wearing the white/blue armor of the corps, Priam would be having the helmet in his hands as everyone is assembling.
Anyone who wants to join in on the exploration of this mysterious space station is welcome to join in!

Rath was the first there. His e-11d slung across the front of his body while his swords and pistols hang at his hips. Choosing to remain in his Beskar'gem. "Captain, reporting in. Are you sure it'll be safe enough for you to join the initial landing party?" His voice was full of concern. He was looking at the scientists and the lack of weaponry on the shuttle. "Of course I'm not trying to give orders or anything, just wouldn't want to run into a welcoming party with so many non-combatants aboard." He shifts uncomfortably while looking around to see if anyone but him from security has arrived to no avail. A sigh escapes his lips as he goes an aids the crew with loading the cargo.

"rook" made his way, giddy, as his personality dictated, guess he would just passively reveal his true nature if they encountered anything.

"Here I am, reporting and ready to do whatever is needed, if you'll have me that is." He threw up a thumbs up.

The Captain called for an away team to assemble, and Relan immediately started gathering his gear. They didn't know what they were facing out there; it would be good to have a doctor with the team if needed.

He quickly gave instructions to the Jr. Officers to prepare the Medbay for injuries in case the team ran into any problems. He would have been more excited if their trip hadn't had such a rocky start.

Relan did not much like wearing his armor, but he wasn't a fool. He wouldn't allow himself to become a liability to the team. He slid the blaster pistol into its holder and picked up his medical bag.

Within minutes, he was gathering with the rest of the team. While others were checking in, he gave the Captain a quick nod and set about double-checking his supplies, making sure he brought everything he needed.

Arla popped the helmet back on her flight suit, and headed back toward the hangar. She made sure her lightsaber was tucked away and took another glance back at the scans of the station. No evidence of life, and she found herself puzzling over where this could have come from.

Nothing should live out this way, should they? she said to the captain. There were extra-galactic life forms, she knew.

No documented beings out here? she asked, already fairly sure what the answer was.

At the end of the day, no one answered the hail, so she prepared for it to be empty. Though if it was empty it might be empty for a reason, and that reason could be dangerous.

As before, Nakoa wore equipment tailored to his own biology rather than Pathfinder gear. It functioned the same, only without any armor-grade materials. His lightsaber in a pouch somewhere among his pile of supplies and tools, he joined the gathered away team to explore this new environment. His weight shifted from foot to foot as they waited.

By now the Kaleesh with them had gotten to know the Wrean somewhat. He was rarely uncomfortable, and his being uncomfortable was making them uncomfortable. Nakoa noticed and made himself still. But still, still as he was, he quietly spoke to Arla when he saw her.

"I have a bad feeling about this."

fenn looked at Nakoa, giving him a friendly nod

"Hey, it's part of the job, no? I doubt with all our talents combined that we'll go down easy if something happens. Im sure we all got an ace up our sleeves."

The ever optimistic mandalorian gave a hearty thumbs up.

Dismas was puzzled. He had joined this expedition in the hopes of finding a pirate ship that had been lost in space for centuries. Credits, peggats and a good story were his own personal goals. When he had calculated this course, however, he had never expected the unidentified space object to be... this. It was the size of a veritable city. The intel on its computers.. the charts on the device that brought it here and hopefully had kept collecting information on this and surrounding systems for -no doubt- centuries.. it was invaluable.

"Captain," he heard himself say, too enthusiastic by this discovery to keep his head down and his eyes on his navigational hologram. "Please, whatever it is, it must have a navicomputer. Download to charts on this-" he rose from his designated seat on the bridge and handed the Captain a databank roughly the size of a datapad. "-it could be the discovery of a lifetime."

The astronavigator's mind was racing with possibilities. If this space station had been operational during the Old Republic, then chances were it had been a bustling port that for some reason didn't show up in any records. It must've been a smuggler's haven. Safe space for syndicate pirates and smugglers on the other side of the galaxy, countless lightyears away from Nar Shaddaa.

Some part of him also hoped that the Captain would -for some reason- give him command of the bridge while he was away with the boarding party.
