Name: Ratama
Nickname: Rat
Faction: Jedi Order
Rank: Padawan
Species: Jawa
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Height: 3'9"
Weight: 98 lbs
Eyes: Golden Yellow
Hair: Unknown
Skin: Unknown
Credits: 1,000
Dominate Hand: Right Hand
Force Sensitive: Yes

Strength: Compared to most other Jawas, Ratama is relatively strong for his species. However, compared to other species he falls under the weak category. Ratama has devoted himself to the ways of a Jedi Consular, and by doing so, has slightly neglected his strength. Being a Jedi has slightly alleviated his strength, but it has nowhere near made him as strong as his older brother Oko. 4/10

Dexterity: Ratama possesses an average dexterity, because of his Force powers. Not the most agile or quick with a blaster, he uses this skill for bettering his Force powers as well as his mediocre skill with a lightsaber. However, he is still somewhat lacking in anything that requires body strength or fitness. 5/10

Constitution: The young Padawan can hardly endure much and has an average level of stamina, despite his Force power. As a Jawa his normal body temperature is 46ºC which results in a high metabolism and an efficient digestive system that draws all the needed nutrients from the Jawa staple diet of hubba gourd. As a Jawa he has also developed a strong immune system as well as exceptional night vision. 5/10

Intelligence: With a thirst for knowledge and the massive Jedi archives to fulfill it, Ratama was learned much without the assistance of a teacher or Jedi Master. His skill in the force is rapidly advancing faster than a normal Padawan, because of this. He has also developed an immense store of knowledge that centralized more around the Republic, Jedi, species, and planets instead of subjects learned in school which he received somewhat as he grew up. 8/10

Wisdom: Ratama is wise for his age and rank. With a thirst for knowledge, he has also developed a deep understanding for the universe as well as the Force. His wisdom develops more so each day even without someone to teach and train him in the ways of the Force. Ratama has shown great potential, because of this ability that allows him to look for different solutions as well as advise others. Already, he has shown some ability to lead and teach with his fellow Padawans. 8/10

Charisma: Being a small, smelly creature in dirty robes, his charisma lacks. However, by learning to speak Basic without much of an accent, he has become somewhat charismatic. While not exactly able to charm or romance the ladies, he uses his charisma to lead, advise, and teach fellow Padawans in his spare time as well as to heighten diplomatic abilities. He serves as a link between most of the Padwans able to resolve most problems and disputes with his wisdom and charisma. 6/10

Force Powers: Not trained in the ways of the Force, the padawan Jawa has only picked up some of the basics. While he still hasn't mastered the powers he can slightly use Force Push/Pull, Heal, and on occasion Aura and Valor.

Skills:

- Mechanical: Naturally as a Jawa, Ratama has picked up mechanical and scavenging knowledge. While not an expert, Ratama still has exceptional skill at repair and engineering.

- Force: Even as an untrained Padawan, Ratama's major skill is his ability to use the Force. An aspiring Force user, Ratama hopes to become an extremely powerful Jedi in the future.

Lightsaber/Sword Forms: None as of yet.

Strengths and Weaknesses:

Strengths:

- Force Power: Still learning the ways of the first, Ratama has shown the potential to be a powerful Jedi time and time again. He has become somewhat skilled with few Force powers before he has even begun his training, but still has much to learn.

- Intellect/Wisdom: As a Jawa with curiosity for the galaxy and the force, Ratama has spent much time in the Jedi archives. Without a teacher, the young Jawa has taught much of his knowledge to himself. He is also an astute follower of the Force and the Jedi's teachings which have molded him into a wise Jedi.

Weaknesses:

- Physical Strength/Endurance: Because his strengths haven't reached their maximum, Ratama is an extremely weak Jawa in terms of strength and combat. At such a small size, he finds it hard to fight well or resist much pain without the help of the force. As a peaceful Jedi and Jawa, he can't fight with the ferocity of a Dark Jedi to increase his strength either. As of now, Ratama is lacking in skill with his lightsaber.

- Lack of Armor/Fighting Skill: Ratama enjoys to wear his traditional Jawa robes over the Jedi robes, which leaves no protection. Without skill in a weapon, Ratama has barely no way to properly defend himself either. Because of his lack in strength, his fighting skills have been neglected and aren't very useful to the untrained Padawan.

Gear: Sticking to the ways of a Jawa, Ratama has continued to wear his old Jawa robes. He has since discontinued to wear his father's bandolier as it was of no use to him and restricted movement with his lightsaber, something he was already doing considerable poor with. He carries a green lightsaber concealed in his dirty, dark brown robes. Once again, following the ways of the Jawa, he soaks his robe in a strange solution that helped to retain moisture on the burning, desert planet. This contributes to a close to unbearable odor brought on by both the solution and a view of bathing as a waste of water. However, the Jawas use to odor to communicate important information. Swarms of insects have also gathered in the recesses of his hood from time to time.

Ship: None.

Personality: The young Jawa Padawan has an extremely kind and respectful attitude to all around him, especially Jedi Masters. Calm and rational, he has the ability to avoid unnecessary fights and look for other solutions. Passive by natural, he holds onto this trait and is known to avoid fights at all cost. This peaceful attitude has had Ratama studying the ways of the force and the galaxy intently in a way to help better the galaxy with the use of the Force. This personality has pushed him further towards a role as a scholar in the future.

Ratama has still mourned the loss of his family, especially his brother. The last the two spoke, Ratama had abandoned his crazed brother in the ruins of their clan's fortress. By now, Oko had surely died. This has brought a great burden and sadness over the young Jawa, but he has nearly mastered the ability to control his emotions. A useful tool for a Jedi.

History:

Ratama was born into the Jawa clan 'Ton Ton Eyetz' for years after his older brother, Oko. With a scavenger father as a father and a typical mother who would be forced to stay back in their fortress home in the desert, Ratama was destined to join those who work on the scavenger. Following both his brother and father's footsteps, he was trained by his father in scavenging, mechanics, and marketing/trading. However, Ratama had a differing set of morals than the rest of his people which forced him not to cheat or steal from his customers, unlike his older brother. This was strange for Jawas and he was practically shunned and outcast by his own people. Oko was his best and only friend.

Force sensitivity likely ran through the family, as both brothers achieved it. Neither of them would ever tell their clan of their mysterious, magical powers for their own personal reason. Ratama was already looked upon with indifference, because of his morals. His strange magical ability was likely to have him exiled or possibly even executed. However, these Force powers were weak and random. Occasionally, Ratama might find himself with a burst of speed for five seconds or knocking over droids by waving his hand in the air. The powers scared and shocked the young Jawa, who hid them in fear of his own people.

As tensions between the Hutt Empire and the Republic grew higher, Hutt troops were garrisoned on the desert planet. Ratama didn't know much about either organization or much else beyond his small desert world. However, the Republic were looked up by some to be a civil, peaceful organization which appealed to the young Jawa, who didn't want to be limited to scavenging for his entire life. As routine, the clan's sandcrawler made a stop at Mos Eisley to unload their goods and trade them with travelers and locals. With the Hutt Empire taking a particular interest in Tattoine, Oko got a crazy idea to impress his father and their clan.

Okokeeza used his powerful Force-sensitivity and influence over the other young Jawas to convince them to go along on the dangerous and stupid mission. When the nine year old Ratama was asked, he refused his brother's offer and tried to use his own Force powers and charm to convince the others not to go forward with it either. Ratama held barely any influence over the others and was ignored, even by the adults he tried to warn of the situation. Ratama returned to his private place, a hollowed out astromech-droid that would probably never be traded. He wept for hours as his brother and fellow Jawas ventured off into certain doom.

While mourning over the loss of the young Jawa, Oko forced his brother to never tell them what happened. Knowing it was the wrong thing to do, Ratama reluctantly agreed to his brother's demands. Ratama debated whether to break his promise with his brother or not all the way home to the Ton Ton Eyetz fortress to break the news to the rest of the clans and the young Jawas family. In the end, it wouldn't matter. They found their fortress destroyed by the Hutts and their people massacred. Worse yet, they walked right into an ambush. The older Jawas attempted to fend the mercenaries and soldiers off while they had the rest of the young run for safety. A passive people, the Jawas had almost no weapons to fight with and were quickly decimated.

Ratama, lead his older brother to the safety of his hiding spot, where they would survive the attack. For the rest of the older and even young Jawas, it was a different story. Disheartened, Ratama stayed with his brother to mourn the loss of their people. Oko had placed all the blame for their deaths on his own soldiers which forced Ratama to fight long and hard to attempt to convince his brother otherwise. It a was a useless battle. As time went by, Oko began to develop a hatred for his younger brother, until Ratama couldn't stand his insane brother. He knew Oko was destined to die out here, but couldn't bring himself to end his brother's misery. With a makeshift speeder, he said his goodbyes to his brother in his sleep one night, and set off for a new life.

A life that wouldn't take off too well. At the age of ten, the young Jawa began to wander the massive desert city of Mos Eisley. At first, it went well for the young Jawa, who would often hang out in the cantina. He found that the smugglers, drunkards, and patrons that wandered into the cantina would come to love his magical ability and in desperation he used it to gain food, shelter, and nourishment. Struggling to develop his Force skills without knowing how, the Jawa lasted nearly 2 years in the cantina, before he was kidnapped and enslaved. It was by a despicable Hutt who had ordered the murder of his people.

For the next ten years, Ratama would live in the Hutt's palace as a pet and entertainment. He would often be brought out onto a stage to entertain the Hutt's guest with his magic. At times that he couldn't achieve the special magic, he was simply brought out to be mocked by the scum that occupied the palace. In his damp cell beneath the palace, Ratama practiced his Force powers in the dark and struggled to escape. Something that he would deem impossible for the next ten years.

In his time enslaved, he befriended a fellow slave in the palace who server as a chef in the kitchen. The human would, who knew the Jawa trade language, would teach Ratama how to speak basic over the next several years. Certainly, a hard thing to do, but Ratama had time to study and learn in his miserable life. In an attempt to live one horrid life, he was trapped an even worse one. He realized he was being punished for abandoning and giving up on his brother, when he could have redeemed him.

At the age of 22, he managed to briefly affect a guard's mind by forcing him to open the cell door. Before the guard could recover, Ratama fled the establishment and wandered out into the desert in search of his brother. Over the course of a year, Ratama searched for his brother, but would never find him. He had forgotten his own home as well as the other Jawa clans. To find one clan was nearly an impossible feat unless you had the right source of information. Giving up the desperate search, he labeled his brother as dead and returned to Mos Eisley. This time, he would finally depart from Tatooine.

As a Jawa, he was an odd sight to be seen outside of Tattooine. For the next year, he would secretly navigate through the galaxy to escape from Hutt Space and seek out this Republic he heard so much about. Traveling from the Outer Rim to the Core with practically no knowledge of the universe and fear of being enslaved by the Hutts again was a harrowing task, but the Jawa succeeded when he landed on Coruscant at the age of 24. He even learned of a powerful order of magic users just like him called the Jedi Order along his travel and knew he was destined to join the peaceful Jedi.

Just finished reading, and I must say, it was a very good read^^

If I had a Jedi Consular, I really would like to train him, but I only have a Jedi Guardian...
