Okay, so, before Zay posts...

@Danee, I disagree with how you're portraying positioning. According your diagram, you and @Nightfall are behind and above me. However, according to Nightfall's actual IC post:

So, when he and his wingmate spotted a freighter approaching the landing bays, they pulled their ships over to it, Merrick in a Reflex-Class Starfighter following along its flank, and hailed...

This post indicates that Nightfall's ship is following along my ship's flank. It makes no indication as to whether it is above, below, or to the side. Just following along the flank.

Your IC post...

Following standard procedure when it came to ships approaching the shipyards she pulled up behind the ship to her wingmate's side.

...confirms this. Again, there is no indication of being above or anywhere else than along my ship's flank (it wouldn't make sense for you to be flying above me, either, because it would mean you have almost no hope of aiming at me, which you clearly indicate in your post you are capable of doing).

Therefore, if we are to go by what everyone has actually written in their posts, the positioning should be:

----K----
---------
---------
---N/D---
---------
----M----

Key: K - @Kayenta Moenkopi; N - @Nightfall; D - @Danee; M - @Malon

And everyone should be on an even plane because, again, no one has written anything to indicate whether or not they are above/below anyone. Just on Greybok's flank. Can we all agree to this positioning (based on what's been written) so that @Zay can post?

Oh @Malon just on my question earlier, I take it the side turret on the star bird can revolve fully on that side? Couldn’t tell looking at the picture if it could freely turn or was fixed forwards with a more limited rotation

It can freely rotate on just that side of the ship.

@Danee

I was wondering how many shots Ashlaa fires in her barrage at the Tempest Hunter?

OH also, Nera is doing tracking shots at Ashlaa. can you account for evading them all some how?

thanks!

@Danee—

You also need to address this:

Before she could even voice the danger the ship fired and... missed.

It doesn't say your ship dodged my shot... just that it somehow missed lol My post is pretty explicit that the first shot is directly aimed at you, so it's not going to miss unless you actively make an effort to dodge it.

I did. The grounsweeper cannon that is firing at you both can swivel 360 degrees. I tracked three shots in an arc starting at your ship and ending at Nightfall. Thank you for the quick reply!

@Malon Edited, and no worries, I'm sitting at a hotel watching shitty TV with nothing else to do, so, edits will be quick.

@Kayenta Moenkopi I also edited in that there was five shots from Ashlaa's Crux fighter, though from the distance she started at, I guess that three or four would be likely to hit.

Heya one more thing I’d like to clarify, both of you have military grade sheilding, but at what level: light, medium, or heavy? Thanks!

@Malon @Kayenta Moenkopi

After discussing this with @Loco:

Kay and I have light-military grade shields. The only difference between them and the usual deflector shields is that they can withstand damage twice as long as your average civilian-grade shields.

Slight correction: it's not necessarily twice as long, depending on the shield strength- it's an additional round over its civilian equivalent.

Apologies @Nightfall, but I'm going to have to contest some things about your post.

I think you're overestimating your ship's capabilities, while underestimating mine, by quite a bit. In your previous post, you note that you are "keeping pace with [my] freighter," which is, of course, slower than your fighter (at maximum speed). That means it would not take much for me to slip behind you, especially considering how close you said you were to my ship, nor would you travel a very large distance in the time that it took me to slip behind you and re-fire the engines, which doesn't take as long as you're portraying. Throw on a car's break for a second and then step on the ignition and it'll take you all of about a second to get going again. Same logic here.

Greybok's actions are happening in rapid-succession. 1) Break, 2) Fire engines and adjust. A few seconds at most is all that would take, and given that your character fires at him during the time it would take him to do those actions (which takes 1 second per shot according to the tech rules), there's no way you can stop firing, dodge, and then completely change course in time to avoid Zay's shots, which happen (according to his post) the moment you enter his sights.

You are also not in anyway in range to fire at Kay. Since combat began, you and I have been flying the opposite direction from where she and Danee are fighting. She already started out a reasonable distance away from where the rest of us were. To say that you can cross all of that space in the time frame of a single post, at the same time as conveniently dodging all of Zay and I's maneuvers, stretches reason a bit too much.
