Fire away, I'll do my best to answer any potential questions here, this is also the place for criticism.

Ok, well then I have a question:

What kinds of characters are you looking for? Jack-of-all-trades, good ol' soldiering types, or more specializes 'archetypes' like marksman, demolition specialist, etc.

The backbone of the Corps is their ultra-versatile rifleman, however, each fireteam does have a designated marksman in addition to a medic as well as one other specialist of some sort. Really, anyone could find a niche in the ranks.

Speaking of snipers....Any specifics on the sniper rifles? I assumed a slug thrower, but I like to be technical...

It'd be a slugthrower. Are you asking about a designated marksman in a fireteam or working as a scout sniper?

Yeah that makes me wonder, I know typically if Mandalore (the warrior, not the planet) falls in battle, the next soldier to pick up the helmet becomes the successor. So what if a Marine picked up the helmet?

Mars is waiting for mod access. A few things will be changed on the information thread (such as First Sergeant being changed over to Gunnery Sergeant) and a roster will be put up.

EDIT: and Malon, we can't wait either. :)

The 'about' section mentions a lot of jedi integration. Would my jedi, once he's ascended to knighthood, be able to join training and so on?

Yes; he would be subjected to a normal, 8 week boot camp just like any other soldier, and after that, be a Marine. We are still deciding if Jedi will automatically be officers or still be required to go to Officer Academy.

I would suggest they do. I'm highly considering signing up my Jedi Master, Siri, for the Marines, and even I'd want her to go through the Officer Academy. Jedi aren't normally instructed in how to lead troops at the Temple, so it would be good for them to learn, even if OOC'ly their user is pretty okay with commanding units.

Well if it counts while talking to Sree few months back, I let her know that when deployed in command of a republic force ( mind you the normal military/naval forces)

Jedi masters would be considered field generals

Jedi Knights would be considered captains

Jedi Padawans would be considered more or less as lieutenants but required their masters approval

so if that gives a starting point to consider

It's very likely that the Jedi will have to go through OCS and a boot before being deployed alongside Marines. It'd be rediculous to let Jedi slide on the training that all Marines are subject to just because of the glowstick on their waist :bitchez

That's cool for the regular army but I wouldn't let someone lead the Marines without training how to do so first :p

oh no, didn't think so, though thought you would be more comfortable making the decisions on that with more info on how jedi tied into the regular forces :P

In that case, I'm signing Siri up :CHappy

Do I need to go through Sreeya to do so, or is it okay to just put her on the sign-up list?

I should put this in the sign ups, and will after this.

For all Jedi signing up, keep in mind that the Marines are NOT a safe place. Character death is entirely possible whilst serving and once your in you fall under the command of the Commandant like every other Marine. You will have superiors that you have to listen to. Also, the Commandant has the right to deny Jedi not fit for battles.
