I should put this in the sign ups, and will after this.

For all Jedi signing up, keep in mind that the Marines are NOT a safe place. Character death is entirely possible whilst serving and once your in you fall under the command of the Commandant like every other Marine. You will have superiors that you have to listen to. Also, the Commandant has the right to deny Jedi not fit for battles.

Fine by me. Siri's been in a battle already, so a little more danger shouldn't shake her up too much. You don't specialize in weapons and not plan to see combat at some point :CHappy

Signing her up now.

In my opinion I do not think that we will be allowing any padawans to join. The Marines are going to be touching close to the Dark side, as their nature as elite warriors implies. Knights will be tip toeing towards the Grey side during their service, so I think it'd be best to keep inexperienced teens out of the way.

Also, master or knight, Jedi will not be recieving special treatment rank or Chain of Command wise (as Mars already commented on). If you give your character a backstory in the Corps and treat his experience as such, that's one thing, but most Jedi would definitely be fledgling commanders, as seen in the Clone Wars when Jedi Generals literally slaughtered their battalions for poor strategic moves.

As usual, he's right on this.

Padawans need not apply unless there's a circumstance surronding them joining such as them showing exceptional skill or they really need the experience and have shown stronger than usual connection to the Light Side.

Eh, I'm not one of those guys that believes that defying the Jedi Code = Dark side. I mean, I'm sure the life of a marine, especially for a Jedi, would be hard to live adhering to the Code, but that doesn't mean they'll skirt the edge of the dark side.

Comradary and constant fighting alongside one another is going to breed bonds that cause a Jedi to see their fellow marines more as family, which might cause a taint, but it really depends on the Jedi in question. Some Jedi are more resistant to the dark side than others.

Take my Master, that I just signed up, for example. She's a by-the-book Jedi up until her time in the marines, at which time, she obviously has to deviate from her life of adhering strictly to the code to become a marine, but the comradary with her fellow marines, common goals, and her early Jedi roots actually solidify her connection to the light and therefore push her away from the darkness.

Just wanted to point that out, though I agree that including Padawans in this is questionable. I'd say Knight or above, but that's totally up to Mars.

Do Jedi joining up have to essentially leave the order to become part of the Marines?

No.

Jedi joining will be intergrated into the Marine command structure and go through the boot camp/Officer academy, but they will still be Jedi. While they fall under the command of their superiors in the chain of command, they wouldn't be forced to do things that break the code too hard. It's situational but Marine commanders are usually understanding.

That's nice of the commanders.

Hence the usually portion, if they get ambushed and the Jedi is all "But think of their families!" that probably won't fly
