The cities of Rodia were sprawling masterpieces of culture and architecture, encased by iconic domes to protect the citizens inside. Kyrdo was definitely not a city of Rodia. Instead, it was mostly a loose collection of shanty houses and mud huts in the heart of Rodia's vast swampland. The people there kept to themselves, mostly fishermen and craftspeople, rarely trading with the big cities due to the geographic distance from them.
So, naturally, it became a nice target. Without the support of the big cities and being too remote for much attention to be given it, a local warlord by the name of Rordo had taken the town over with his men, killing any fighters and enslaving the rest for his own gain. One young Rodian woman had managed to slip away. She trekked many miles to the nearest city and informed the authorities. They had sent out a scouting party to investigate and had been met by Rordo's men, who forced the citizens of Kyrdo to pretend everything was fine. The authorities believed them and did nothing further. Frustrated and worried for her people, the Rodian girl put out a distress signal to the back channels of the HoloNet, asking for any mercenaries, adventurers and do-gooders to help her take back her town from this vile warlord, promising a small reward as well as a pick of spoils from any foes they defeated.
For young Kyp the Mandalorian, the rewards and spoils didn't interest him so much as the promise of a good fight. His armor was probably superior to anything the warlord's forces had and he expected a reward from a backwater town to be pretty scant. But he did love fighting so he was happy to lend a hand. After all, he was on the planet anyway refueling - may as well make a few credits while doing it.
"This all you're expecting?" Kyp asked the Rodian woman, Nyreena, scoffing. Right now, he was the only one who'd shown up. They sat down in a small hunter's cabin about ten miles away from the town of Kyrdo.
"More will come. I'm sure of it." Nyreena said, anxiously looking at the door for more arrivals.
