((OOC)) (ok, dude, in all fairness, there are a lot of people who know I have a lightsaber, but given how the backstory is explained, nobody has complained. And since one needs to get approved before they can even play... the person who approved me doesn't really care either... And I'm here in transition. The guy who is going to train me is on a different temple, and I was on Coruscant, so I decided heck, be part of one briefly before I go off. People DO have a right to rp, regardless of rank or w/e. So was that really necessary to say?)

In all fairness not every profile is looked over like it should be. I don't know why project approved your character having a lightsaber cause I know for a fact that shit never goes down. If it does the person is usually a seasoned member with perhaps already one character in the Jedi Order and past the rank of knight.

Like I said about the rank, we still give permissions on it but what if you get killed in this thread? You're going to have to apply all over again because you decided to butt your head into some more so dangerous matters that a apprentice might not be able to deal with. (To be honest though that's my opinion)

I'm usually try very hard not to acknowledge names even in a narrative sense until someone has said their name aloud...I've been using all of your names because using the gender pronoun "he" gets a little confusing when there are five guys in the thread. The only name Brooke knows is The Dark Man's, anyways.

Also it'd be pragmatic if we had a posting order listed? Just to avoid confusion and such.

I should've been gone hours ago to wrestling, but due to the storm, that got shafted. And yeah I agree. But it seems a tad faster. I did describe myself as a guy in a black cloak, hood up and what not.

I'm not calling you an idiot, Taore. Bailing will not be easy considering the fact that any of us could pursue you if we wanted. But seeing as most of us are all tied up with the Dark Man's murder (Here I was hoping for a peaceful thread for some rp that had some actual meaning rather than useless violence).

I can tell you how it will probably unfold already. Dark Man is going to nut up and attack one of us thinking his cybernetics (Or whatever he is using) can outmatch us at least one of us. So Taore just be careful. I would hate to see your character some how get killed and then you having to make an entirely new character.

Odds are when he attacks, I'm gonna just dodge, get the girl and run. Because she's the one he's after it seems, but if he's tied up with a guy who can handle the situation, that's the odds. Cause the one thing I DO have as a plus is speed. So that'll come in handy if I'm escaping. Btw, HOW DO YOU KILL SOMEONE ON THIS?!

You simply write out your action and hope that it works. Really it's all common sense. Like say if I were to shoot him right now, he would have to have a pretty damn good reason not to be struck. It's all about realism.

I mean I read some profiles, some don't even explain how THEY end up with half the crap they do. At least I found time to explain it and show through rp and profile the limits are still pretty low or untamed (like not being able to control how hard you force push someone and cause damage to everything around that person inCLUDING him) Most as I've observed haven't. So I get that weird sense of god modding from some people and it makes me go "how does one get killed?"

lmfao. You're the one with the gun pointed at him! My attempt was to try and quell what I saw was escalating violence, but it doesn't take a genius to see she's the target. And since I'm built with a strong moral compass, the first plan would be to prevent people from getting murdered

We don't like stats. The vast vast vast vast vast majority of users aren't god modders either. A lot of how you kill someone or survive an attack is based not just on your character's abilities, but on your skills as a writer.

I like to use this example (and in this, I'll pretend there are Sith on this site). A Jedi Padawan engages a Dark Lord of the Sith in a duel. The Jedi Padawan is not necessarily going to lose this duel just because the character is weaker. If the Jedi Padawan is a better RPer than the Dark Lord, then the Dark Lord could be beaten somehow.

As Horizon said, that's how free form works.

People on this site, in the vast majority of cases, are really good at realizing when their character isn't going to survive something. If they say they've survived something that they shouldn't have, then that's when an admin should be called in to resolve it.

All I do are visitor messages... Never tried the PMs (mostly cause I can't find the button to do it) and it's right there and bang! easy to make. But I've posted him 3 or 4 times when he was on and I got nothing. I mean I understand he's busy, but if I was able to get it up and going, I wouldn't be in such a pickle by being relatively untrained and about 3 seconds from a barfight in Coruscant.

Trying to quell this guy's episode is useless. You don't just come up and say something along the lines of "Hey I think we should all just calm down and talk things out". I'm not his psychiatrist by any means. The situation escalated to a point where it would be stupid for him not to do anything.

Well, I got in there, first thing I see are blasters and guns drawn, and a guy about to shoot another. I heard what ya said, but I didn't know the other guy's story. It's kinda what you expect. And as backstory (mine) dictates, I did know SOME of the Jedi way about assessing a situation, and only getting involved in actual fighting when it got TOO out of hand. Hence why I said what I said, lol. One can only do so much given what he sees, right?
