Air Force, right? I believe I saw that from you in another thread.

Good for you. I went through the Air Force Academy and just recently got my commission, but there are a lot of ROTC guys entering pilot training with me. Those butter bars are awesome. Keep your eye on the prize.

Yes, butter bar is awesome, but just get ready. Not saying it is my view, but I know as far as the Army is concerned, most enlisted guys just do not like officers, especially those seasoned NCOs who look at most lieutenants as 'commissioned privates.' Granted, there are some that are ****ing stupid, and pretty much often nearly get a lot of good enlisted people killed, but they are a more administrative role and usually always act on the advice of the unit's NCOIC.

You got here before I did. I would have smacked him down in a much more brutal way. Damn right the Lt has a degree. I worked my ass off for four years at one of the top 10 most prestigious schools in the nation for the bars I'm wearing now, and I'm freaking proud as hell of them.

Good on you Tsar :). I'm entering pilot training right now, so you can get the lowdown on it from me.

Word! Armed Exhibition guys here. Green Run rocked but First Colonial was better. Good luck in NJROTC, I know how to make shoes look like mirrors, PM me if you need help shining them. My NSI thought they were corframs.

Well, It's not exactly my thing, but I'll be sticking with it a while longer to see if my opinion changes.

I'm probably the only english major in the entire program; which probably speaks volumes about why my personality isn't fitting in too well.:CDumb


Mostly, I'm just not sure that I'm gung-ho for a military career now. I kinda realized that I want to do other things/that my talents and interests lie elsewhere.

I've gained a lot of respect for servicemen though; that is for certain. Hell week was hell.

Lol thats why its called hell week man. Also the great thing about rotc is your not obligated to sign a contract of active duty. Views change so maybe times in the matter of months, in any case good luck man.

Well, good luck to you. I've been commissioned about a year and a half. Hell Week (O-Week) might've sucked, but can you imagine what SEALs go through? Anyways enough service badgering, I heard in AFROTC you can go to Ranger School and Jump Training during your summer semesters. Volunteer to try out for Pararescue School, you'll never regret it!
