DESCRIPTION​

The RPS-6 is an infantry portable rocket launcher which was jointly developed and manufactured by Merr-Sonn Munitions and Sienar Fleet Systems, originally for the Grand Army of the Republic, although it was later used by the Galactic Empire as well. Designed as a lighter, more portable alternative to the longer-range but heavier PLX, the RPS-6 was an ideal weapon for mobile infantry units. Able to deal with most armored vehicles the wielder was likely to encounter when aimed at their weak points, it served well through years of fighting.

The RPS-6 is a single-shot, muzzle-loading rocket launcher, fired from the shoulder. Its targeting system consists of a computerized scope, although it can be linked to the head-up display in a trooper helmet as well. The weapon's projectile has a range of 200 meters, and has a number of fire modes, including a repulsorlift-seeking "smart" mode, linear trajectory "dumb" mode, and a "timer" mode which detonates the warhead after a specific elapsed flight time, useful for indirect fire. When firing the weapon, the user is advised to clear a 4 meter area behind them for back-blast.

Though an old weapon, the RPS-6 is still an extremely useful and effective weapon on the modern battlefield, and continues to be used by professional armies, militias and even criminals to this day.

Restricted. Rocket launchers are extremely powerful weapons, and are thus banned on most civilized worlds. Even on uncivilized ones, carrying one around in public is sure to draw unwanted attention.

RESTRICTIONS​

In a PvP engagement, rocket launchers such as the RPS-6 may only be used against vehicles and fortifications. Care should be taken for any player characters driving, riding in or fighting from the target to be given the opportunity to bail or deploy countermeasures before impact.
