Unaltered as it how they were first released in 77, 80 and 83?
Yes please.
As someone who has never seen the movies without the alterations, I am excited to finally see it as it should be seen!
Funny how the guy who made it, and we liked it, changed it, because it wasn't how he really wanted to make it, and we got pissed about it, and now they're going to release it in the original, "non-Lucas" fashion, because that's better because it was before he changed it to be "better."
In retrospect, that was a circle of logic that really didn't need to be explored.
The earliest version of Star Wars I've seen were the 1997 editions. It'd be pretty cool to see the originals.
And the way he wanted it exists... and can be viewed by those who like it more, and already has been viewed by the majority of Star Wars fans. His vision has been circulated and seen. What the fans want is the original version. That isn't a bad thing, it's just having their options open. I am sure that there are hardcore Lucas fans that prefer the newer versions, but it isn't a bad thing to want to have all versions available to those who want to choose rather than be force-fed the "better" versions.Honestly? While this'll piss everybody off, I'm with Lucas on this. It was his vision. It was a story he wanted to tell. Perhaps, and I don't know this for sure, he just wanted to tell it to tell it, not to make everybody else happy. I'm not saying I'm happy with the new versions, I'm saying if thats the way he wanted it then thats how he wanted it.

I do believe that it's a collection of media surrounding the adventures of a certain starship, the USS Enterprise, and its crew, namely the African-American blind cyborg Data and the pale Caucasian android named Geordi La Forge.what's a star wars?
what's a star wars?
And that's fair, but those new versions (97, 04, and 11) were not a cultural phenomenon. The original versions were. I never begrudged Lucas wanting to make the changes he felt would make his films better, but he owed it to the fans who supported his films and to our culture to release the originals as well. For whatever reason, Lucas could not understand that the films he thought were inadequate were the films that the whole world fell in love with. He can change what he wants, but the originals need to remain a part of our cinematic heritage.
I hope Disney sets things right.
