How long has it been? Days? Months? Years? Far too long. The last time she'd been off planet was to battle the Dark Side nexus on Telos, and that had gone far from well. Rocks fall, everywhere scatters—except the Sith scattered into the temple and probably achieved their goal.

<"We're about to jump to hyperspace,"> she called over the comms, her digitized voice echoing through the carrier's speaker system. <"Go ahead and take a seat."> Her hand jumped to the hyperdrive, and after a minute to give them time to get settled, yanked the controller back.

I need to do more. This is good. They were headed to Glee Anselm to do what was essentially community service. It wasn't exciting, but it was something that needed to be done. It was good to try and keep a positive image of the Jedi when the galaxy was so divided on them.

-----

However many days later, the ship would drop from hyperspace to the beautiful water world of Glee Anselm. They were to land at an above-water station then rendezvous with a Nautolan man named Jes Utrai to be brought down to the underwater Nautolan town he was from. It was a pretty straightforward trip, and Jaesa hoped it remained that way. The ocean kind of freaked her out with how deep and expansive it was, but she did her best to pay no mind to her fear.

<”Alright, we’re almost here. Make sure you’ve got everything you’re bringing with you. We’ll be under the waves for a couple of days.”> Fortunately, the town had some dry hotel rooms for them. Other than that, it was gonna be wet suits and diving gear for a while.

Jaesa landed the carrier on the base, shut down its systems, then dropped the ramp. While the three she’d brought with her—Elidan, Quin, and Tiberius—descended, Jaesa did one last sweep of the ship, then grabbed her stuff and joined them outside.

“How do we feel about the ocean?” she chirped, her small bag slung over her bare shoulders. The dathomirian wore only a tank top rather than her usual Jedi robes. There was no use in bringing them if they’d be squeezing into wetsuits for the entirety of the trip. She had her saber clipped to her belt, of course, a few essentials in her bag, and not much else.

After a few days of being stuck in a ship, Quin was happy to get out and move around once the four had arrived on Glee Anselm. The trip hadn’t been bad. He was with people he liked, having known both Elidan and Tiberius from missions past. Both of them had his respect, and he was glad that he would be able to spend more time with them on this trip too. Master Valerin he’d only just met, but given the fact that she was a Jedi Master and she seemed like a nice person already, he was excited to work with her too and learn what he could.

His own backpack slung over his shoulder as he waited outside with the others, Quin saw Jaesa emerge from the ship and join their group. At her question, he gave her a sideways smile.

“I know how to swim, but that’s pretty much it,” he admitted. He couldn’t help glancing at Elidan and Tiberius before looking back at the Jedi master. “This’ll be my first time staying so long underwater.” Is it really like floating in space? He would find out soon, when they departed for the town. He wondered what it was like, living underwater. Were there sea monsters? He’d heard some stories, but he didn’t know if they were true. Hopefully not.

For now, he would go along with the plan.

Glee Anselm was an interesting planet. It was covered by an ocean, with some few islands scattered on it. It was also a famous place for tourists, who wanted to relax on one of its several beaches. It was known that during a year, several sentient beings from across the Galaxy would visit this place.

However, Elidan and the other Jedi weren’t going to Glee Anselm because of a vacation. They were going to do community service. While tourism gave billions to the economy of this planet, there were still citizens living in poverty or suffering with social problems. The tourists rarely saw these problems because most of it happened underwater.

The ship that they were using for this mission landed in an above-water station and from there the Jedi would spend the rest of their days there underwater. After he left the ship, Elidan waited for Jedi Master Jaesa Valerin to give the instructions. She was the one leading them. The Padawan never interacted with her before, so he had no idea of what to expect of her. Would she be someone stern or playful?

After Master Valerin asked how they felt about the ocean, Elidan quickly picked his Datapad and typed a message to her. “I have no problem with it. I can swim well.” the half-Sephi had learned how to do it in a pool of the Jedi Temple with other Younglings. He never did in the sea. However, it couldn’t be so different.

But I think that I’ll need to use sign language to communicate.” while he had received a waterproof datapad for this mission, Elidan thought that using it while swimming would be a problem. Hopefully, one of the Jedi would be able to understand the language that he was using. If not, he could try telepathy.

It had been several days since Tiberius had boarded the ship with his pack slung over his shoulder. It was plenty of time to get to know his new friends. He had worked with Quin previously on the planet of Kashyyyk where they narrowly avoided being snacks for the Wyyyschokk that had taken up residence in the new Jedi temple. Although young, Quin had a good head on his shoulders. The other two Jedi Tiberius had not had the pleasure of working with them before, but he assumed they would be fine to work with, especially considering one of them was a Jedi master.

As the ship dropped out of hyperspace Tiberius could see the water world below them. He had been to similar water covered planets before, but not to spend days beneath the ocean like he going to be here. Legend had it that There was once a continent on this planet that sank into the ocean many millennia ago. Now there were tiny islands that dotted the planted, none of which were the destination of the Jedi.

The ship landed on the above water base. Understandably everyone gathered their belongings and exited down the ships ramp. After being cooped up in a ship for several days one starts to go a little stir crazy. Tiberius was no different. After shedding his traditional Jedi robes he checked through his bag one last time to make sure he had everything he thought he would need. He slung the bag over his shoulder and walked down the ramp to meet the others outside.

Jaesa was the last to disembark from the ship. Meeting the other three Jedi on the landing pad the Zabrak asked them all how they felt about the ocean. Tiberius peered over the edge and saw the light chop of the water below. After his two most recent mission on Ithor and Kashyyyk respectively Tiberius was looking forward to a more laid back mission. He turned and gave the Jedi master a thumbs up. “Lets do it.” He said with a grin. Tiberius had learned to swim at an early age. However, swimming in an ocean that covered an entire planet was a different thing, but he was confident that he would be fine.

There didn't seem to be a lack of confidence, which was good. There was nothing worse than starting something off on the wrong foot, especially when the environment was foreign. If anything, there seemed to be a buzz of anticipation around the group set off by Tiberius' thumbs up and response. Jaesa gave him a smile for that, then turned briefly to address Elidan.

"My sign language is pretty rudimentary," Jaesa admitted as she placed a firm hand on his shoulder. "If need be, talk to me through telepathy. Just knock first." She balled her fist on his shoulder and tapped it lightly on him, smiling so he would hopefully get the humor in her instructions. Jaesa dropped her hand down to her side, then turned to face the whole group.

"Alright, real quick, let's go over some ground rules." Her yellow eyes fell onto Quin and Elidan. "First, we're here to help, so let's avoid causing any trouble for them. Second, I don't want either of you going off without either Tiberius or I, or without at least telling us first. The ocean is a big—" Jaesa stopped mid-sentence, then turned around just as a Nautolan man began to head their way.

"Hey, you all my helpers for the next few days?" He stopped a bit away and raised a hand to greet them, causing his head tentacles to get pushed back behind his shoulders.

"Sure are. This is Jes Utrai, everyone. He's our boss while we're here. Jes, this is Tiberius, Quin, and Eldian." She gestured to each person as she said their name.

"Pleasure to meet you all! Follow me and I'll get you all set up with your gear." Jes would turn and lead the group inside, where they would be able to change into wet suits and put their belongings in water-tight bags. Once that was all settled, they'd come back together outside by the "drop off" of the above-water base.

"Anyone brave enough to go first?" he asked with a smirk, looking to the group with a dare in his eyes. He gestured to the water.

Tiberius’ enthusiasm made him feel a little better about it all, and Quin grinned at the Jedi knight’s thumbs up. Surely they wouldn’t have been picked to go on this mission if their seniors didn’t believe that they could do it. Helping out the Nautolans was all it was, and that couldn’t be too difficult.

Jaesa turned to the pair of Padawans to go over what they were supposed to do, and Quin nodded along to what she was saying. He might not have been fond of rules back at home, but he knew that the ones the Jedi Master was giving them were there for a good reason. It seemed that she had been about to elaborate when the Nautolan approached from behind to greet them.

When Jaesa got to Quin’s name in the introduction, he gave the Nautolan a quick nod of greeting. They would have plenty of time to work with each other later, so he didn’t say much more when the group of Jedi were led inside to change.

Once he’d finished, made sure all his gear was in place and working, and that he had everything he needed with him, Quin made his way back outside to the drop-off zone to meet with the others. At the Nautolan’s dare, the Padawan grinned. This was going to be fun!

“Yes, sir. I’ll see you all down there!” With that, he splashed down into the water, and once the bubbles cleared away he looked up to watch for the others.

Elidan nodded when Jaesa talked to him, while a smile appeared on his lips. He would never enter the mind of someone without asking for permission first. This would cause problems, with people becoming furious because of it. He still remembers what happened at the beach party, when Severus tried to do it with Clove and was thrown away by Thelian. The half-Sephi didn’t want something like that to happen to him.

Then, Jaesa became serious and looked at the two Padawans. Elidan paid close attention to the instructions that she gave to them. He would follow all her rulers without arguing about them. While exploring the ocean would be nice, the half-Sephi knew that it was dangerous for a Padawan to stay alone.

The Padawan saw Jaesa be interrupted by a male Nautolan called Jes Utrai. After the Jedi Master presented them, Elidan waved his hand. He seemed to be someone nice, what seemed to be a common trait among the species. Even the few Nautolan Jedi that he interacted with seemed to be this way.

After this meeting, Jes would guide the Jedi to where they could change their clothes to enter the ocean. Once the group was dressed and prepared, they left the building and approached the border of water. It was a bit difficult for Elidan to walk with these clothes, but he was certain that as soon as they entered the water, it would become easier.

He watched Quin jump in the water, disappearing from their sight under a curtain of bubbles. Taking a deep breath, Elidan carefully moved toward it, the last thing that he wanted was to trip and fall. When he was in a good position, the Padawan jumped, leaving only a bunch of bubbles on the surface.

Tiberius took a few steps away from the edge, closer to the group of Jedi. Jaesa began telling the padawans to stay close. Tiberius nodded listening to the Jedi master. His gaze went from Jaesa to the two padawans and back again. The Zabrak didn’t get too many words in before she was interrupted by the new Nautolan.

Tiberius responded with a nod and a wave to the newcomer as he was introduced by Jaesa. He followed the Nautolan inside where the knight began changing into his wet suit. He unclipped his lightsaber from his belt and gave it a quick look before storing it in the water tight bag. Hopefully there would be no need to use a light saber on this trip, but regardless Tiberius knew that his lightsaber wouldn’t work under water anyway.

After donning the appropriate attire for their journey Tiberius step back out onto the platform of the above-water base where he joined the rest of the group. The two padawans were the first to jump off into the ocean below. Tiberius Put his hands on his hips and shook his head. “Would you look at that.” He said turning to Jaesa with a grin. He gestured to where the two padawans had left the platform, “They’ve already broken the rules and gone on without us.” The knight was obviously joking.

He walked to the edge of the platform and looked back at Jaesa and Jes “I’ll see you on the other side.” With that he dove off the platform into the water below where he met with Quinn and Elidan. Tiberius looked back up waiting for the other two members of their party to join them

A grin covered her lips as she watched the two padawans dive into the water. She was glad they didn't seem to be all that wary of the water because she sure was. The expansiveness of the ocean made the hairs on the back of her neck raise up, but the Dathomirian wore a brave face. After all, they would be swimming and helping around a place inhabited by a decent amount of Nautolans.

Jaesa snorted at Tiberius' joke, then watched him leap down into the water and leave only her and Jes up on the platform. He gestured grandly to the water, encouraging her to jump. The woman carefully made her way over to the edge, braced herself, then dove headfirst into the waters below. Her hands raised above her head, and her chin tucked down to her chest, allowing her to break into the water and glide easily underneath. Jes joined her shortly, opting for a cannonball rather than a dive, then began to tread water to keep himself in place.

"Alright, follow me!" He swam off at a decent pace, leaving a trail of bubbles behind where his feet kicked up the water.

"Everyone got your helmets on right?" The woman had just finished fiddling with hers and behind the glass, her yellow eyes jumped from each one of them to check. It would be no good if they had to start out with faulty gear. Once she was sure everyone was good, she signaled for everyone to follow Jes. She would take up the rear.

Within fifteen minutes, the vast and endless blue of the ocean would give way to rocky, mountainous ground covered in corals and round, cylindrical buildings. The largest cluster of buildings was in the center of the rock formations and appeared to be a school or government building of sorts. The structures grew sparser and more obviously residential the further out, creating a mid-sized town. It was lighter here too—the sun's light permeated the water with ease, and the glow from electric light in the buildings lit up the ground. In short, it was alien to the land dwellers, but breathtaking at the same time.

Jes would continue to lead them toward the main cluster of buildings, where a group of mostly teenage Nautolan loitered about. Once they noticed him and his trailing group of Jedi, they began to wave at them enthusiastically. "Those are some of my students," Jes explained as they headed over. "They'll be helping you guys with some of the stuff."

"Alright kids," he began once the five of them reached the building. "Let's get introductions outta the way real quick. This is Master Valerin. She and her fellow Jedi will be helping us for the next few days. Why don't ch'all introduce yourselves?" The group of five Nautolan teens, ages varying from sixteen to nineteen, introduced themselves one by one.

"As your teacher said, I'm Master Valerin," Jaesa began next. She looked over to Quin and nodded, asking him to introduce himself next.

One by one, the others jumped into the water, sending clouds of bubbles up to the surface. When they cleared, Quin turned himself to face Jes and Jaesa for their next instructions.

“I’m all good. Everything’s working,” he replied to the Jedi Master’s question, giving her a grin behind his helmet as well as a thumbs up when her eyes met his. When everyone else was ready and Jaesa gave them the green light to follow after Jes, Quin turned to face downwards and started to kick lightly with his feet, sweeping his arms slowly in front of him to propel himself forward.

A couple minutes later, the city came into view, and the Padawan’s eyes widened when he saw it. It was a beautiful underwater city, and not at all what he’d expected. In fact, he didn’t know what he’d been expecting in the first place, but the design of the buildings here reminded him of the ones back in Theed. The place was brightly lit, peaceful-looking, and Quin found himself liking it already.

Soon they’d approached a small group of Jes’ students, and Quin waved back when he saw them. They appeared to be around his age, some a little older. A little while after they reached the building, introductions began, starting with the Nautolans. Among the Jedi, Master Valerin went first and then nodded at Quin.

“I’m Quin. Nice to meet you all,” he said with a grin.

Once the others had joined the two underwater, Elidan waited for the next instructions. He was already prepared to follow Jes, when Jaesa asked if everyone had put on their helmets. The auburn-haired boy touched his own, to certify that it was well attached. Once he was certain that it wasn’t going to be a problem, the Padawan nodded at the Master.

After Jaesa signaled for them to start swimming, Elidan followed Jes. The first thing that the Padawan noticed was how strange it was to swim wearing these clothes. The times that he swam before were always in a pool or lake, never going too deep or using special outfits. The auburn-haired boy wondered if after some days he would get used to it.

They swam for some time before arriving in one of the famous underwater cities of Glee Anselm. The place was fantastic. The way that the buildings were made near coral reefs without killing them. Elidan never saw something like that before. He wondered how the Nautolans were capable of building this place. Maybe he could read about it when they returned to the Temple.

While Jes guided the group further on the town, Elidan continued to look around. He was so amazed by the place that he didn’t even pay attention to where they were going. When a large school of colorful fishes passed swimming near the group, the auburn-haired boy stopped a bit to admire them.

After some time, the group arrived near some buildings where a group of teenages was waiting for them. After Jes introduced them as his students, Jedi started to greet them. Jaesa Was the first one, then Quin said his name for the curious teens. Elidan had already prepared his Datapad to type a message for them, but he had some problems with it.

His hands were slipping and it was difficult for him to type on the device. While he struggled with it, the Datapad would slip and start to go to more deep parts of the town. Without thinking twice, Elidan dove after it. Without it, he would not be able to communicate with anyone. This wasn’t even his, it had been loaned to him by the Temple for this mission. He couldn’t lose it.

Tiberius bobbed up and down in the water with the flow of the small waves. Looking up above them He now saw Jaesa diving down to meet the rest of the group. She was followed by Jes shortly after. Jes disappeared below the water, leading the way to their destination.

In response to Jaesa’s question about helmets Tiberius rapped on the bubble that surround he head and replied “All good.” After that he plunged below the water himself, following their Nautolan guide. The Jedi’s legs kicked and propelled his body thought the water, following the trail of bubbles left by Jes

It wasn’t long before the underwater city came into view. It both stood out and blended in almost naturally with the surrounding ocean environment. It was a beautiful sight. Tiberius could see the residents of the city swimming above and around the buildings. As the group neared their destination they were greeted by a small group of teenaged Nautolans that Jes introduced as his students.

Tiberius watched the others as they introduced themselves to the young Nautolans. *I guess that means it’s my turn* the knight thought to himself as Elidan dove deeper to retrieve his fallen datapad. “I’m Tiberius.” He said with a wave. His hand felt extra heavy travelling though the water. “And that is Elidan.” He looked down at the young padawan. Tiberius reached out with one of his hands and grabbed Elidan’s descending datapad with the force to prevent it from falling any further.

The group of Nautolan teens waved back at the group of four as they introduced themselves, then their eyes wandered over to Jes. "Well, now that we've got introductions out of the way, let's get to task number one. Sahni, go ahead and show them where they'll be staying. We'll be at the drop-off."

"You got it, boss!" The teenage Nautolan jokingly saluted Jes, then turned her attention to the Jedi. "Follow me!" Sahni gestured for them all to follow her, but she paused to comment when she noticed Elidan swimming to grab the datapad Tiberius was keeping in place. "Oh, and try not to drop anything down there. It goes way deeper than you'd think!" She then swam toward the entrance of the building they'd stopped by, a trail of bubbles following her fluid movements.

Jaesa looked amused, and once Elidan grabbed the datapad, she would turn to Tiberius. "Seems like we've found a fun group of kids," she chuckled. Her yellow eyes would follow Quin and Elidan as they presumably swam after Sahni, then returned to Tiberius. "I think the next few days will be good for the padawans, too." With that, she would swim after the three.

Sahni, ahead with the two padawans, would eventually give in to her burning curiosity. "So you guys are Jedi? That is so cool! I can't imagine how fun it would be to be able to use the Force!" She gestured for them to enter a door, and after pressing a few buttons, it squeezed shut. The water drained slowly from the room, and within thirty seconds the floor was only slightly wet. The door on the opposite side then opened, revealing a very hotel-esque, carpeted hallway. The Nautolan bounced forward into it, turning around to face them and walk backward.

"Wait, you guys have lightsabers too, right?" Her face lit up. "Can you show me?"

~~~~~
"I think we got left behind," Jaesa said with a shake of her head, clicking her tongue as she did so. The door refused to open, flashing wait when she tried again. After thirty or so seconds, it flashed again, this time saying proceed. She tried again, and this time it opened. The two would go through the same sequence of events as the kids, then step out into the carpeted hallway.
Once they reached the kids, Sahni would point out their rooms. There were three of them; one for Elidan and Quin, and one for Jaesa and Tiberius each. They were pretty standard as far as rooms went, with a bed, desk, bathroom, and a small counter area. She would wait patiently in the hallway while everything went in and set their bags down.
Quin swiped a hand at Elidan’s datapad when it fell out of his companion’s hands, but it was a little too far and his fingers missed by just a hair. He was about to dive down along with Elidan when the datapad stopped and floated back up towards them, courtesy of Tiberius. The Force! He’d nearly forgotten that it worked the same down here.
Speaking of the Force, Quin responded enthusiastically to Sahni’s remark about it as he followed her into the building. Even before she spoke, he’d somewhat anticipated what she was going to say. From non-Jedi, he got it a lot.
“Oh, yeah, it is fun! If you’re able to use it right. Elidan and I, we’re still learning,” he said as the water began to drain out of the room. Then he spoke to Elidan with a grin. “But you probably know a lot more about the Force than I do.”
The door opened again in a few moments, and just as Quin removed his helmet to get a breath of fresh air, Sahni asked about their lightsabers. He glanced at Elidan, unsure whether or not it was a good idea to show her. He didn’t have training mode on right now. What if she accidentally hurt herself? What would Tiberius and Master Valerin say if she did? Taking another few seconds to make up his mind, Quin decided that it couldn’t be that bad.
“Alright. Just keep this end facing out,” he said as he handed her his hilt. He would let her hold it for a while, just until he finished putting his stuff down.
Once he saw Master Valerin and Tiberius enter the building and Sahni pointed them to their rooms, he went over with Elidan to theirs. As he set his things down on the floor by the desk, he glanced at his friend.
“How are you liking the ocean so far?”
Before the Datapad could go too deep, Elidan felt Tiberius use the Force and make it return to his hand. Staring at the device, the Padawan felt a bit like an idiot. He could have done it himself, but it was like he had forgotten about his own abilities. Probably because he was too nervous with the possibility of losing to think of an easy solution to the problem.
When Tiberius presented him to the Nautolans, Elidan only waved his hand. He wasn’t too excited to spend that much time with people of his age. While he was starting to make more friends, the half-Annfyn still liked to stay alone sometimes. He wondered if there would be a moment for him to find a quiet place where he could watch some episodes of CSI:Coruscant. The new season was really good and he didn’t want to lose any episodes.
Holding the Datapad firmly in his hands, Elidan followed Sahni, the Nautolan girl. Her comment about not dropping things made him blush a bit. This reminded him of how he embarrassed himself in front of others. Now he was regretting coming to this mission. These Nautolans would think that he was an idiot.
While they swam after Sahni, Elidan heard her conversation with Quin. He only nodded when the other Padawan mentioned his name. The half-Alfynn wasn’t sure if he knew more than the human boy. He was good with telepathy and Force surge, but his abilities with Healing were still abysmal.
Once they entered the building that was going to be the place where they were going to stay, Elidan watched the water start to drain out. It was really cool. He had read that many tourists liked to have the full experience of the underwater life of Glee Anselm and stayed in places like this one.
Elidan was removing his helmet when he heard Sahni ask to see Quin’s lightsaber. The look at the eyes of the other Padawan showed that he was unsure if he should do it. The half-Annfyn shrugged, thinking that it wasn’t going to be a problem. The two were there, so they could watch the Nautolans so they would not get hurt. Sahni was also old enough to not do something stupid with it.
After Master Valerin and Knight Tiberius entered the building, Elidan followed Quin to the room that Sahni pointed to them. He chose a corner to place his things, but stopped after hearing the other Padawan talking with him. Picking the Datapad, the half-Annfyn typed a message. “It’s different, but it’s very cool. This is the first time that I have a mission that happens underwater. And you? What are you thinking of it?
Tiberius watched as Elidan dove down to retrieve his datapad. Luckily the padawan was able to catch it before it fell too far. Their new guide, Sahni, had begun to swim off to show them where they would be staying. Tiberius hung back to make sure that Elidan was able to regroup with the rest of them before everyone swam off. Luckily he seemed to be a capable swimmer and quickly caught back up with Quin and Sahni.
Jaesa had also hung back. She turned to the knight and addressed him. Tiberius nodded, “I think it’s going to be good for all of us.” It wasn’t every day that you had a mission where you were sent to a tropical paradise to do community service. This mission was shaping up to be an easy one. As Jaesa swam away the jedi knight followed suit, creating a path of bubbles as he kicked his legs.
As the two neared the building where they would be staying for the next few days the two padawans disappeared through a set of doors with Sahni. Jaesa and Tiberius got to the door, but they couldn’t get in. The Darthomirian made a comment about getting left behind. “Maybe if we knock they’ll let us in?” Just about the time Tiberius finished speaking the doors opened to allow the two Jedi access.
As the doors locked behind them Tiberius looked at Jaesa and shook his head. “Those kids, always trying to give us the slip.” He joked. The water drained from the airlock and the doors in front of them opened. Tiberius stepped out and onto the carpet and saw the Nautolan wielding Quin’s lightsaber. “Looks like we have another padawan on our hands.” He said eying the weapon in Sahni’s hand. “Don’t put your eye out with that thing.”
Tiberius didn’t bother to remove his helmet since it was likely that they would be going right back out to the water. He made his way into the room that Sahni had indicated was his. He removed his bag and placed it on the bed. He gave the room a once over, taking inventory of what was in it. He then made his way out of the room and began to make his way back to Sahni who was waiting patiently for the landlubbers
Sahni's face managed to light up even brighter when Quin handed her the lightsaber. After making sure it was pointed away from them, she activated the switch and exhaled a wonder-filled "Whoa!" as the blade snapped and buzzed to life. She held it only briefly and returned it as soon as she heard Tiberius' warning, then proceeded to point out the rooms.
Once her room was shown to her, Jaesa quickly tossed her bag onto the bed and spent no more time inside. She didn't rush the others, but once they all reconvened back out in the hall, she would ask for Sahni to lead them out to the "drop-off."
~~~~~

After a bit of swimming, Sahni and the Jedi would finally rejoin the group of Nautolans at the "drop-off." If none of them had already inferred what the location was from its name, they would immediately know then. The ocean floor, covered in sand and patches of flora and coral suddenly came to an end, and before them, the crystal blue water melted away to navy depths. Even if they reached out through the Force, they would not be able to find a bottom past the underwater cliff. Along its vertical surface though, colorful coral continued to grow out of the rock.

"Alright, first task. This might take us the rest of the day, but it's for a good cause! Savin' wildlife and all that jazz." Jes would then gesture to the coral-covered cliff. "We're looking for a little buddy called a coramical. They're these little bitty salamander-lookin' guys. You'll see what they look like soon enough."

He had a bag on his shoulder, and he paused to open it up. He pulled out a very small, bracelet-looking item with a square on the widest bit. "The coramical are an endangered species, so today we will be tagging as many adults as we can find to track their movements and health. I'm gonna find one now to show you all how to properly do it. Stay close to the cliff and don't worry 'bout the depth. Nothin's down there but empty waters."

He swam off, and Jaesa followed. She could feel her heart rate rise as she followed him over the edge, her yellow eyes widening at the darkened waters. "Don't think about it." The Jedi turned her gaze back and kept it firmly on Jes.

"Are they difficult to spot?" she asked as he slowed to a stop and began to tread water.

"They can be," he replied. His dark eyes trailed across the coral, then with a flurry of kicks, he descended briefly into it. A quick strike of his hands, and a blue-green creature covered in colorful little extremities appeared in them. Turning to the group he would say, "Here's our little friend! This is a perfect example of an adult. Even the smallest of them won't be shorter than half a foot in length."

He gestured to the horn of sorts on the creature's head, which was actually quite pliable, and wiggled back and forth with the creature's efforts to get free. "This is where we'll be attaching the monitor. The appendage is just for camouflage, but because not to be too rough with it."

After demonstrating how to attach the monitor, he released the coramical back into the coral and then proceeded to hand out smaller bags of the monitors to each of those present.

"Stay in groups of two at least and split up. Tag as many as you can—preferably until you run out of tags or I call it a day."

// Each bag contains fifteen monitors. You don't have to place them all in one post. Feel free to involve some of the NPCs :)

The message from Elidan flashed on the datapad and Quin nodded in agreement.

“Same for me! There was so much stuff to see and we’ve only just gotten here.” When both Padawans were done putting their bags down, Quin headed out to rejoin Tiberius and Jaesa, where he learned that they would be going to a second “drop off” zone. Based on the first one being above the surface, he wasn’t sure what the second one entailed, but he would find out soon.

Once they’d arrived at the cliff, Quin couldn’t help his gaze drifting to the coral instead of to Jes, trying to look for the coramicals as the Nautolan explained what they would be doing. When he went down and actually brought one out, Jes got his attention again and he watched as he attached the monitor to the creature’s horns. It looked easy enough, not to mention the creatures were adorable and he would love to hold them, even if it was only for a few seconds.

When it was Quin’s turn to receive his bag of monitors, he thanked Jes and turned to look at the cliff, wondering where to start. The fact that he couldn’t see the bottom of the cliff reminded him a little too much of the time when he’d fallen down such a canyon on an asteroid, and he tried to distract himself with the mission. There were coramicals to find!

Just as he was about to ask Elidan if he wanted to come with him, Quin spotted something wriggling right behind where the other Padawan was.

“Elidan, behind you!” He reached out to pick it up, and it was only when he lifted it up that he realized how big it was, probably about the size of a loth-cat. It struggled to get away, which made it a little awkward for him to reach the monitor in his bag. With some difficulty, he turned back to the group with the coramical still in his arms and tried to tread without sinking.

“Could-” the coramical’s tail thrashed against his helmet, “someone help me put a monitor on this one?”

Elidan smiled with Quin’s answer. It was good to know that the other was also excited with their mission there. For the half-Annfyn, any occasion that he left the Temple was a good opportunity to learn new things. He couldn’t wait to see what they were going to do during their stay on the planet.
After he finished putting his bags down, the half-Annfyn followed Quin out of their room. Outside, they met with Jaesia and Tiberius. He heard the Jedi Master ask Sahni to guide them toward the “drop off”. Elidan wondered what it was going to be. Were they returning to the surface?

Rather than swimming up, the group ended up going toward one of the cliffs that surrounded the city. The place was magnificent, full of colorful corals. These bright colors meant that they were healthy. Elidan had read how these animals would become pale or white if they were affected by pollution and other things that could damage them. The half-Annfyn was still impressed how the people of Glee Anselm had been able to live underwater without causing too much damage to the environment.

When they stopped in one of these coral-covered cliffs, Jes started to explain what they were going to do now. Elidan’s eyes shone with excitement due to the possibility of being able to interact with a Coramical. He had read about this creature some time ago. They were adorable, but sadly were considered Endangered by the Galactic Union for Conservation of Nature, also known as the GUCN. Would be a privilege to be able to help save such an incredible animal.

After Jes’ demonstration, Elidan received one of the bags with monitors and went to find some Coramicals. These creatures were well adapted to this environment, with their appendages and horns working perfectly as camouflage against predators. The half-Annfyn was certain that it would be difficult to see the animals among the coral.

Suddenly, he heard Quin calling him. When he turned to see what happened, the other Padawan had catched one of the Coramicals. The creature was thrashing around, trying desperately to escape from the boy’s grasp. Elidan admired the creature, seeing its colors and coral-like appendages. He even picked his Datapad to take a picture of it.

His moment of admiration for the animal was interrupted by Quin asking help to put a monitor on the Coramical’s horn. Elidan pulled one from his bag and approached the other Padawan. Since the creature was still thrashing in panic, the auburn-haired boy wasn’t going to be able to attach it without getting the animal hurt.

Then, he decided to do something to calm it down. Closing his eyes and stretching his hand in front of the animal, Elidan reached with the Force. He was trying to do the same that Master Voran had taught him when she taught him how to influentiate the plants. In his mind, it could also work with creatures like this.

Focusing on the animal, the half-Annfyn would project feelings of calm and comfort. Slowly Quin would feel the Coramical stop thrashing. When it calmed enough, Elidan would put the monitor on the creature’s horn, while also touching it briefly on the head. They were really adorable!

After regrouping in the lobby the group of Jedi followed Sahni out of the building and back out into the aquatic environment where they were led to the drop off. Tiberius kicked his legs doing his best to keep up with their young Nautolan guide. They came to the vast expanse. It was no wonder they called it “the drop off” The cliff was a sheer drop that looked like it went down into nothingness. Treading water Tiberius stared down into the abyss. The bright blue hues that surrounded them quickly changed to black the farther down the drop off went. The knight wondered what might live down there, but he was reassured that it was just empty space.

Tiberius watched and listened as Jes gave his demonstration about finding and tagging the coramicals. *This is what we’ve been sent to do?* Tiberius thought to himself. This could quite possibly be the easiest mission he had ever been assigned. He wasn’t complaining, though. This was a nice change of pace compared to the most recent missions he had been on.

“Well, let’s get to work, then.” Tiberius stated once Jes had finished his instructions. The two padawans had already paired off and Quin had already found one of the small creatures. Tiberius watched Elidan swim over and give the young human a hand wrangling the salamander like beast. He was impressed with the half-Annfyn’s ability to calm the coramical.

After receiving his bag of monitors Tiberius swam off expecting to be followed my one of the young Nautolans, or Jaesa, or both. He made his way over to a patch coral a little separated from the other groups so they could cover more ground. He began scanning the Corals where he thought the mall creatures might be. The knight’s eyes darted to the left as he saw movement. It was a coramical. He trust his hand towards it, but he missed. He wasn’t quit as fast underwater as he was on dry ground. This might take a little getting used to.

After a couple more attempts Tiberius managed to finally snatch one of the brightly colored creatures. “Gotcha!” he exclaimed. He pulled out a monitor from his bag and placed it on the coral like horn atop the coramical’s head. Letting the small creature go he said, “One down fourteen to go.”

This exercise reminded him of when he was a child on Dantooine and he and his brother would spend their afternoons trying to catch various insects. The two boys thought of themselves as mighty hunters on the plains of Dantooine. Although many years older now, Tiberius still liked to think of himself as a mighty hunter as he snuck up on another Coramical. He lunged forward with both hand this time… But missed again. Okay, so maybe he wasn’t that mighty of a hunter, but he would catch that little creature. He was determined.
