OOC: I'm assuming that was a Carrier Form that just exploded on you.

Not quite trusting himself, Padpad took his hand off the trigger at Doc's words. The medic entered with the female 'Helljumper', and the Grunt watched the doorway closely to make sure they wern't veing followed. Suddenly, a sickening blob of Flood-infected flesh dropepd from the ceiling and exploded. Doc was sent flying, and Infection Forms brust out.

Padpad swiftly took aim and squeezed the trigger down, frying each and every one of them. He tried to point the turret up to the ceiling, but it didn't go that high. Taking his Fuel Rod Cannon off his back, he fired its last two shots at the roof. They detonated, and he heard the sounds of Flood being destroyed. Apparently a few had climbed or jumped up there. Another entry they would have to watch as they barricaded the building and prepared to leave...

Throwing down the emptied weapon, Padpad drew his Needler and kept it trained on the doorway as he slid down the ladder roughly and started waddling over to Doc's unconscious form.

"Female! I know you're hurt, but keep head up! Watch out above!"

Slinging the man over his shoulder with surprising strength, the Grunt brought him back to the ladder and hefted him up. He left him lying on the catwalks with the severed arm of a Brute for a pillow. He then mounted the turret once more, standing vigilant guard over the doorway and trusting the Human female to watch out for Flood coming through the holes in the roof.

Edan hadnt ran at the same time Doc and Hattie did, he had planned on giveing them as much cover as possible when they made their escape. When he saw that they were inside the building he started running after them. He was almost to the door when he heard a large explosion and several large pieces of flesh fly out of the doorway, it was times like these that he wished he still had that shotgun. "Hey Padpad, Im commin in, please refrain from putting holes in me. Id like to live through this whole ordeal." With that said he quickly rounded around the doorway and got inside the building. He wasnt sure were Doc was at the time, but knew he probably wasnt dead. He got a couple meters behind Padpad and trained his battle rifle on the door, He wasnt aware of the holes in the roof at the time.

"Much as I'd like to fry you with this, I won't. I've got the entrance covered, Human, so you can point that excuse for a weapon at the holes in the ceiling. We've had Parasites jumpin' down from there and the turret won't point straight up."

Padpad wasn't exactly being nice to Edan, but given the situation perhaps his bad mood could be forgiven. Besides, this was the same Human that the Grunt had exchanged hard words with back at the warehouse. Even though conversation and mutual aid with Doc had improved Padpad's opinion on Humans, the Unggoy still didn't feel he really liked most of them - and probably never would.

The Zealot moved swiftly when he had recieved the report from Padpad. The human however seemed paralyzed by fear so he was forced to grab him firmly by the shoulder and almost drag him along. He kept his plasma rifle out and fired a few bursts behind him at any pursuing Flood forms.

"Padpad! We're coming in!"

Varha left no time for the Uggnoy to prepare as he burst through the doorway and let go of the human.

"Stand up coward and fight! At this point your only use to me will be decapitating your head and your limbs and using them ti make a small pile to absorb some fire."

VIncent was hard at work. He had settled into his mindset for killing. He hummed to himself, muttering. ''Shoot, kill and move...Shoot, kill and move...'' As he was doing so, some of his ancient heavy flip music came on. It was a particularly hardcore band, their instruments bashing out a heavy beat, the scream of the vocalist helping Vincent not become too wound up. He just kept shooting, killing and moving.

Shane was picked up by his collar and placed on the back of the Mongoose. The force of the hand threw his battle rifle out of his hand. "Damnit...." He mumbled. He took out his pistol and was blasting away at the Flood. Shane saw another of his squad members and shot him, regretting he did. Then he saw Ensign Balder, his buddy, running around near the Mongoose. Balder kept yelling "Sir, is there an extra seat on there? If not, I'll run faster." Shane told him no and shot another few rounds.

His eyes almost seemed to unroll from the back of his head as his eye lids opened. Looking around in a dazed like slumber her pushed off the steel catwalk with his hands. Unsure of what the hell it was that had blown up in front of him he quickly realized where he was. Padpad at his side, his only wonder was how he had gotten to where he was, was this where the explosive had carried him? If so he was surprised he was still alive. Unstrapping the M6D from its holster he pulled it out and fired two quick shots into the chest cavity of a former Elite. Watching the mangled flesh fall to the ground in a oozy green heap he could feel himself comming back to terms with the world around him. Looking around he spotted much of the group in the area, though the Spartans seemed absent, hell the flood could've taken them out for all he knew, the pests were mindless, but they seemed to have a goal and even they seemed capable of killing the super weapons.

"Fire in the hole!!"

He tossed a frag grenade out the door as a large group of parasite forms prepared to make their way in, by the second hop it had exploded. The weak leather like flesh was sent in all directions, much like shrapnel but missing the deadiness most explosions would hold. Standing behind Padpad he watched the Grunts back, for all he knew the little guy had saved him from certain death...

As Shane's Mongoose ran out of gas, he got off and ran towards the warehouse, still with no Battle Rifle. Passing by John Balder, he said, "Balder, let's go!" Shane looked back and shot two former Brutes in the head with his pistol. Then, he found a grenade on the ground, pulled out the ring, and threw it backwards.

He saw the explosion blow a few body parts and even half of the couch Edan found into the air. As an arm landed on his head, he fell unconscious. John picked him up and started carrying him. "Hello, this is Ensign John Balder to assault carrier 'Shadow of Intent.' We need reinforcements here at my position. The Flood are here and are about to kill us. We have 4 or 5 of us humans and about 2 or 3 of your Covenant soldiers. Please send a Phantom or Spirit before-----A.....damn......GET IT OFF! Agh, go away you ugly mon--" John said while trying for reinforcements.

Edan was taken aback by the grunts words, this was a high danger situation, stress was a given but he thought that Padpad would atleast try to work with the team. He quickly shrugged it off, taking aim at the small holes in the roof of the building. He thought about trying to barricade the holes, and since the ladder going up to the catwalks was right behind him, he climbed up it with his gun still pointed towards the roof. He was on the catwalk parallel to Doc, which was also the one that held the stored warthogs. He jumped into one of the turrets and aimed it at the holes in the ceilling.

Kyte burst through the doorway, his armour covered in patches of flood-gunk. It wasn't exactly pleasant. He'd gotten there before Vincent because, well, Vincent wasn't running for his life, Vincent wasn't alone.

He saw the Grunt on the turret, and his instinct was to draw a weapon, any weapon, and kill it. It took a split second for him to realize that this was the grunt on thier side, and yell,

"Don't shoot!"

Without waiting for an answer, he sprinted into the building, and leapt the grunt. Wheeling on the spot, he brought the battle rifle he was carrying to bear on the door, crouching to steady his aim. He was tired, a several hundred meter sprint would do that to you, but that was no reason to relax, especially not with the flood around. Between pants of breath, he managed to pass on some important information.

"About... ten... of them... right... behind me..."

Padpad's trigger-finger swiftly relaxed as he heard Varha's voice. No way he was about to risk firing on an Elite, let alone a Zealot. He'd be better off shooting himself. He was also rather satisfied to see his Leader telling off a cowardly Human. A frustrated Elite was a whole lot more amusing when he was frustrated with someone else.

Hearing parasite forms on the way inside, Padpad prepared to fire, but he heard a familiar shout and one of the Humans' grenades flew through the door, destroying the enemies.

"Doc! You took hard hit. Rest. When ready, help get Warthogs ready so we can get moving!"

The Grunt then looked back to the door. A Spartan came running through, and Padpad saw his hand twitch, as if to go for a weapon. I've really got to put some markings or something on my armor, before I get killed by not-so-friendly fire.

As the Spartan leapt up besides him, Padpad nodded with a grudging respect and muttered "Nice Demon..." Hearing the Spartan's words, however, the Grunt turned his attention to the door and opened fire, quickly frying the first few combat forms to enter.

Looking over at the Grunt he gave him a dazed nod before sprinting over to the catwalks ladder and sliding down with ease. Hitting the floor he stumbled a bit before running into the hanger that held 3 Warthogs in a beaten up but capable condition. Jumping into the first he fired up the engine and gave himself a reassured nod that all was good, before loooking in the back. The gunner was demolished and all that remained was the fixture to hold the turret in place. Cursing he moved onto the next one. The passenger seat had been ripped out but other than that the vehicle seemed in perfect working order, the turret was fully stocked in rounds and from what he could tell would be able to fire. The third however didn't have a turret either, but was however in perfect condition and was a transport, at least it could hold everyone.

"Everythings good back here!"

He shouted out before climbing into the passenger seat of the Warthod missing the gunner, he wasn't in a condition to drive, but he could surely shoot at flood or anything else. They just needed to hurry and load up the hogs and move out, it was their only chance at survival...

Shane was woken from unconsciousness by John's yelling and stood up, blasting two combat forms in half. He killed an infection form trying to go into John's body and picked him up. John was almost transformed but wasn't....yet.

With John being carried by him, Shane ran over to the warehouse while yelling, "PadPAd! This is Shane! I'm coming in! Doc, my friend John here needs to have his transformation stop." He ran in towards Doc and laid him down by him. Shane also found an assault rifle to use to help and killed a few combat forms jumping through the ceiling.

The UNSC frigate, Swift Lancer, slipped out of subspace on the edge of the Sol system. It was quite damaged, and had only been able to flee the Covanent as the fleet their battle group had encountered turned on each other. The Lancer was the only UNSC vessel that escaped. On the bridge, Commander Williams looked through the viewport at Earth. Its orbital defenses lay in ruins, both UNSC and Covenant ship hulls littered the space, broken and burned. The Lancer gently floated towards Earth, its engines just about working at fifty percent capacity. As they got closer they saw huge parts of the planet flaming and blackened; glassed. He sent out a signal on a UNSC frequency.

“This is Commander Williams of the UNSC frigate Swift Lancer any UNSC personnel respond.”

He then opened a secure channel to the soldiers onboard. The surviving complement consisted of about ten marines under Staff Sergeant Reynolds, alongside a squad of four or five ODSTs, tired from battle and with quite a few wounded, he doubted any of them could help. But they still had their four elite troopers; the four SPARTAN-IIIs of gold team, CPO 015 - Ross at their fore. They waited, fresh, just out of cryo tubes, in the hanger bay, a pelican ready to dispatch with them in it at a moments notice. He spoke to the SPARTANs.

“CPO Ross, this is Commander Williams, over.”

“Yes sir,” came the eager, young voice on the other end of the link.

“Standby to launch, we’ve done a preliminary scan down there and detected a number of live marine transponder codes, severely outnumbered by covenant forces. It looks like they’ve been captured, a number of enemy troops convening on their location. I want you to take the pelican and rescue whoever you can.”

“Understood sir, gold team out.”

He turned to the others and gestured them onboard. The door thudded shut and they whizzed out of the belly of the ship, down to the planet below. As they headed downwards, he heard the familiar anti air fire from Wraiths, turrets and fuel rod cannons, though he could not tell if it was grunts of hunters. The pilot called out,

“Sit tight, this ride could get a little bumpy, we have banshees on our tail.”

Almost as soon as she had said that a clear hit from a cannon melted the back door, the craft bucked and Ross had to duck for cover. Another hit made the pelican buck to one side and one side of the craft exploded. Ross stared in disbelief as he saw on of his squad wrenched from the craft and disappear into the clouds. The pelican span out of control and plummeted to the ground below. Ross braced himself as his stomach somersaulted, and not for the first time he began to realise that being a SPARTAN in no way meant he was immune to death…

He looked at the changing man before him, unsure of what to do with the morphing soldier. Looking at Shane he shook his head, there was nothing he could do, nothing he could even think to do to save this man.

"...Sorry Sir... theres... theres nothing I can do for him. Even if I had time, even if I had a Emergency room... I'd have no idea where to start!"

Reaching to his thigh he pulled out the M6D And held it to the chest cavity of the former Marine and prepared to fire the large slug into the soldiers chest. Just by looking at him he could tell he was in pain.

"...we have to end his pain... better than watching him turn into one of those bastards..."

His finger tensed on the trigger slowly tugging it, unsure as to what Shane's response would be.

Scared at what was about to happen, Shane said, "Don't fire. I'll keep an eye on him." After he finished the sentence, John yelled, "NO! Go away! Stay away from me! Go away bef-" Before he finished his sentence he took the pistol from Doc's hands and aiming it at him. A few seconds later he turned the weapon towards his head and said, "If you get closer to me I will fire!" And as he said that he turned it back and fired at Doc. "Damnit John! Stop firing!" Shane yelled as he took his pistol back out and aimed at John. "I don't want to kill you but I may have to....." Shane whispered and fired into John's skull.

His tensed finger caused the trigger to be pulled at the shock of John pulling the weapon away. Luckily it had only grazed the mans right shoulder, but the weapon was still in the morphing soldier's hands. Listening to the changing man's words he gave him a slight nod, really all he wanted was his pistol back, when the weapon went off. Hearing the sound ring out through the warehouse was almost shocking to the combat medic, but not more shocking to the feeling that was in his own side. Dropping backwards he laid on the concrete flooring of the room, feeling blood pouring from his side he took in a slow breath. The injuries seemed to be piling up on the soldier now, there was no telling from his perspective if he had a vital injury or simply a flesh wound. Laying in place his hands applied pressure to the wound, trying to stop the bleeding the best he could in his current situation.

Ross stirred in the wreckage of the pelican. He inspected his HUD, looking for squad vitals. His “brother” who had been ripped from the Pelican as they fell was not on his radar. He listed him as MIA. His other two companions were. One was dead, and he lister her as MIA too, SPARTANs never died. The other, Tim 047, had a pulse. At least he’s alive. He stretched as he stood, still a little dazed. He checked what was left of his gear. He found an assault rifle and a battle rifle on the floor; he loaded both and slung the former, cocking the latter, holding it with his right hand. He grabbed as much ammo as he could and a belt of grenades, then left to explore the wreckage. He approached the vitals of Tim. He sent out a signal on Gold squad’s frequency. Tim’s acknowledgement light winked on.

“All clear, Chief,” heard Ross. He jogged over to find Tim sitting propped up against some debris, holding an assault rifle, one of his legs badly broken and the lower half of his armour bloodstained. Ross acknowledged his leg,

“I’ll carry you for now. If we’re attacked, I’ll set you down and you can provide sniper cover,” he handed him a sniper rifle and a load of ammo from the floor. He hefted him up and headed towards the location of the convening covenant forces. He switched to UNSC frequency, “all UNSC personnel in my immediate vicinity, respond. This is Sierra 3, 015, gold squadron. I have two dead and a third wounded.”

Oh shit. Shane thought as he ran to Doc's side. He yelled, "Where's the biofoam?"He cocked his pistol and killed an infection form coming through the ceiling. "Doc, you'll be alright! Just stay with me, ok?" Shane whispered to Doc.
