[Tupe Yashu]

Science Bitch (Diplomacy) — While the shipwrights of Vandelhelm have a long history of innovation, they have never undertaken a task this complex. The planet of Woostri is home to the HoloScan Database, a treasure trove of knowledge, including blueprints and construction techniques that could greatly accelerate the large scale production efforts on Vandelhelm. A diplomatic team will negotiate with the legislative body in charge of the planet and convince them to provide access to the Database.

"You know, I don't recall having ever having visited this world?" Tupe chuntered away to himself. He was sat cross-legged on the floor of a Sojourn class shuttle, the only ship the Jedi Order had brought to the negotiations. "Woostri." he rolled the word around a little "Odd name." he concluded, standing from his prone position with deceptive ease, and summoning his walking stick with a gentle force-pull, before hobbling up to the cockpit. Leaning around the door, he checked in with the crew, before turning back into the main room of the ship just as it swept into the landing bay.

"We're meeting with this worlds legislative assembly today, have you much experience with politicians?" he asked his colleague, Ephiny "I confess, I don't actually think I have met any of the current lot. I must have bumped into a few when I was a Padawan, but I am reasonably sure holovids where in black and white back then." he chuckled at his own outrageously hilarious joke and made his way off the shuttle.

As he stepped down off the shuttle, Tupe was greeted by the slamming of feet, as the city guard of the Woostri stamped to attention, causing the elderly Jedi to nearly jump out of skin with shock. He looked up, to see nearly one-hundred purple-uniformed strongmen standing in rows, with a gaudily dressed man who soon identified himself as the 'leader of their honour guard'. Tupe was not sure he had ever had an 'honour guard' before - he liked it.

"Knight Yashu, and this is my colleague -" he gestured to the other Jedi, so they could introduce themselves.

”Me neither, Knight Yashu.” Ephiny said to the other Jedi Knight. Like him, the Archivist never visited Woostri before. However, she had studied about the planet before they came to this mission. “I read some holobooks about it. They say that the world is famous for its tourism, automated manufacturing and of course the HoloScan Database. Did you know that it’s second only to those of Coruscant in size?” she said excitedly.

She had loved the opportunity of going on a mission with Tupe. Interacting with a senior Jedi was always a pleasure for the Archivist. She had learned with her grandmother that the elders were full of knowledge and they always told the best stories.

Due to that, it was no surprise that she and Tupe stayed talking during the entire trip. The Cosian told her about his experiences and the places that he visited, while she talked about her work in the Archives. Someone else would probably think that it was boring, but for Ephiny it was great.

When their ship finally arrived in Woostri, Ephiny felt a bit disappointed that their conversation was going to be interrupted. There was still so much that she wanted to ask. However, she knew that they were here for an important mission. The Jedi Order was passing through troubled times and this planet could help them.

“I have met some, but never participated directly in negotiations.” she explained, while following Tupe down the ramp. What she saw waiting for them there was a bit unnerving. It seemed that the entire guard of the planet had come to meet them, or to arrest the two Jedi. Such a display was a bit exaggerated in her opinion.

“I’m Knight Daivand.” she said, after Tupe gestured to her. “We came here as diplomats of the Jedi Order. We have an audience with the rulers of the planet.”

This was all a little showy for Tupes tastes, but he went along with it in the interests of diplomacy. "It is a pleasure to be welcomed here to your wonderful world." he inclined his head in a slight bow "There are those on our planet who are not pleased that this meeting is taking place." a man responded, an obvious sneer on his face as he stepped out from behind the guard captain "Including, myself."

Tupe looked visibly concerned, but ultimately unsurprised by the man's revelation "I understand the concerns faced by the galaxy, and by your world, around the Jedi Order. Some of our number have digressed from the code, and been brought to account for it." he attempted to justify the Jedis negative perception "However, I believe our values, which are the antithesis of those shared by those who set fire to our worlds," he referenced the Sith "Remain true, remain pillars that we should aspire to uphold, not just us, the Jedi, but all of us as a galactic community." he responded.

"If you would allow us, Sir, it would be our honour to address your council, and make our case to them directly."

Ephiny watched in silence while Tupe talked with the leader of the guard. The man didn’t seem happy with their presence and let it be very clear with what he said to the Cosian. Looking around, the Archivist could see how some members of the guard looked at them with disgust and anger.

She knew that recently, the public opinion wasn’t in favor of the Order. However, Ephiny didn’t think that they would stare at them as if they were infected with AMS. This diplomatic meeting was more important than she had thought. Perhaps they could use it to change the opinion about the Jedi on this planet.

“Come, the Council was already waiting for you two.” the guard said, before gesturing for them to follow him. “However, if I was the one in charge you two would be thrown in prison.” he would start to walk toward a large building. The soldiers around them remained in position, their eyes never leaving them.
