Just curious, before getting into this thread, who called it ("it would be occupied by the man who called the meeting into order") and why? Does Adena know about it? The Senate can't just be called into order without the Senate leadership calling it into order.

Mars called it, and, from what I can tell, four others are in the know (it was discussed over MSN). From what I've experienced, Adena doesn't call meetings OOC'ly unless she wants to. I called the last Senate meeting, before the skip, to order, and though she knew of it, she didn't exactly approve of it or disapprove of it.

That said, I don't know if she knows or approved of it. I was simply asked to start the thread.

That doesn't make sense a military personal can never call a Senate session...

Talk to Mars. I was asked to make the thread, and I know a few details, but if you want the full story, a PM would be best directed at him.

Only the Chancellor can call a Senate session. That's parliamentary procedure, regardless of whether it happened before the skip.

I have no problems BEING there, though I don't recall a session request >.< though that could be my blondness coming through or just forgetting due to headaches.

though I will have this one closed.. and restart a new one so that it follows protocols, and we can go just as was.

There wasn't a request, I can confirm that.

Is this listed as a special session of senate? 'Cuss ICly the Senate would meet regularly, it could just be one of those regular meetings.

I don't remember Senate proceedings ever having to be requested. So long as there were other Senators involved, and there very well are, and they were notified beforehand from my understanding of the situation, then there can be a session started.

If that's not the case, then I will accept the fault for this one. Though I was only just recently informed that this RP would require the Senate and to start the thread, I should've checked with Adena to get the go ahead before making the thread.

@Nexxie: It was referred to as an emergency session in the thread, iirc.

Even if it's a regular session, the Chancellor still has to be the one to officially call it, bring it to order, etc. That's parliamentary procedure. When I used to chair RL meetings using parliamentary procedure, there was a schedule as to when they would happen but I still had to call them, bring them to order, run them, etc.

Per above about parliamentary procedure.

I'll just simply restart one " officially" and I suppose others can just copy paste things over.

Oh look, the cat's being useful. And he doesn't even have thumbs.

You do know you are referring to the same cat that just referred to the ability to lock things as the Lockhammer..... right? :bitchez

Have no fear, Senator Bac is here!

I think all Adena is probably waiting on at this point is for Mars' character to show up.
